Growing up on a homestead he developed a love of farming, first the farm at Tenmile, and later a 10-acre farm and orchard on Lower Garden Valley. Glenn loved the outdoors and his hobbies included hunting, fishing, scuba diving, flying, farming, wood working, and cooking. Glenn married Doree Ellis of Lookingglass, Oregon, in 1951.
