Wilson D. Creek

Sept. 21, 1938 - Jan. 20, 2009

Ontario - Wilson's love of life and adventures ended at the age of 70, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Some of Wilson's adventures include traveling the world, owning the Becker Ranch, being a rancher, moving to Ontario to the Blackaby House, starting the Creek Company hoping to get to fish more and traveling to Belize, Mexico, to fish more, but he always came back to Ontario, where he and Ruth turned their home into The Creek House Bed & Breakfast. He loved Ontario and wanted to help make it the best it could be. And with that in mind, Wilson and his wife, Ruth, started The Illustrious Onion Skin Players more than 25 years ago, which still perform every year at the Star Theater in Weiser, Idaho.

With all of these adventures, many people have crossed his path, and what a path that was. If you were a lucky one who got to hear his stories, share in his great sense of humor and hear his fantastic laugh, consider yourself blessed; you are now part of the Wilson Creek legacy.

Wilson was a complex man. He loved fishing, but he also enjoyed reading, writing, cooking, sculpting and being artistic. But he loved his family most of all. Teaching all the grandkids to fly fish in the front yard, trying to catch those pesky lawn trout, was a right of passage for them. Wilson really lived his life.

Wilson is survived by his soul mate and loving wife, Ruth; son, Mark (Linda) Creek; daughters, Jenny (Chris) Burke, Jennifer (Scott) Hall; “adopted” son, Rod Hall; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Bruce Creek; niece, nephews and countless friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at the Star Theatre in Weiser, with a potluck meal following at the Veteran's Memorial Hall in the basement of the Weiser Little Theater.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Heart 'n Home Hospice.
