Branson, Mo. - Donald Ford, 63, Branson, Mo., passed from this life Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Cox Hospital, Springfield, Mo. Cremation was under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, Mo. Interment followed Wednesday, April 16, 2003 in the Columbarium, Mo. Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Ford, the son of Haskell and Virdie Ford, was born Aug. 7, 1939, in St. Louis.
He was a Korean Army conflict veteran. He was the maintenance supervisor at Treasure Lake.
Donald is survived by his wife, Romana; one son, Dan Ford, Boulder City, Nev.; four daughters, Julie Kidwell, Forsyth, Mo., Cindy Quintero, Las Vegas, Tonette Sweet, Washougal, Wash., and Kelly Young, Neosho, Mo.; mother, Virdie Ford, Weiser; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters, Barbara Walters, Weiser, Norma Franzese, Mesa, Ariz., Nancy Dick, Weiser and Shelly Hill, Boise; five brothers, Ben Ford, Branson Mo., Larry Ford, Reeds Spring, Mo., Raymond Ford, Dallas, Dale Ford, Sacramento, Calif., and Mike Ford, New Plymouth.

Christina Girvin
Nov. 13, 1969 - June 16, 2003
Vale - Christina Girvin, 33, Vale, died Monday, June 16, 2003, from a year-long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2003, at the Vale Second ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday June 19, at Lienkaempers Vale Chapel and from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2003, in the Relief Society Room at the church. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Vale.
Christy was born Nov. 13, 1969, in Las Vegas. She graduated from Clark High School in 1987. She spent a year and a half in Connecticut working as a nanny. She attended Ricks College; Rexburg, and graduated in 1990. Christy met her husband Howard W. Girvin Jr. at Ricks and were married and sealed for time and all eternity, in the Las Vegas Temple, Aug. 18, 1990.
She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She did volunteer work with various organizations in the community. She was an accomplished mother and homemaker as well as a devoted wife, partner and friend to her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; son, Gregory 11; daughters, Ashley, 9, Heidi, 7, Melanie, 4, Natalie, 1; father, Wallace Don Hartman Jr.; stepmother MaryLou Hartman; mother, Roberta Vande Voort; stepfather, Richard Vande Voort; brother, David Hartman; sisters, Jeanette Carter, Becky Reynolds, Teresa Gehring, Elizabeth Hartman; grandmother, Dona Pace; in-laws, Howard and Janet Girvin, Valerie Gardner, Shannon Girvin, Dana Givin, Jalaine Girvin; grandparents, Rusty and Margueritte Girvin.
Christy lived her life with love and kindness. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Harley 'Joe' Watson

Huntington - Harley "Joe" Watson, 61, Huntington, died Monday, June 16, 2003. Graveside memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. PST, Friday, June 20, 2003, at the Huntington Pioneer Cemetery in Huntington. Private cremation was held at the Haren-Wood Crematory under the direction of the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel, Ontario.
He was born in Everett, Wash., Oct. 11, 1941. He grew up in Pine Bluff, Ark. and graduated high school in Feather Falls, Calif. He served for six years in the U.S. Navy and then served another two years in the U.S. Air Force. After the service he married Lynda Edington in Yakima, Wash., Aug. 14, 1964. The couple lived in various locations across the United States working many different occupations until finally moving to New Plymouth, in 1990 where he was the Public Works Supervisor until he retired in 2000 due to health reasons. The couple moved to Huntington, in 2003. He enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo. His love for music and his grandchildren were the love of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda, Huntington; three daughters, Lisa Nein, Ontario Anita McKinney, Ontario and Shelley Vahsholtz; 12 grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Hemmerling, Portland and Louise Logan, Yakima.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Joy Harper.
Stanley Lee Hill
March 16, 1917 - Oct. 6, 2004
Adrian - Stanley Lee Hill, 87, Adrian, passed away Oct. 6, 2004, at Nyssa Gardens, Nyssa, where he had resided for a short time. Private family graveside services will be held. Services are under the direction of Lienkaemper Chapel, Nyssa.
Stanley was born March 16, 1917, in Fowler, Colo., the son of Carl Barnard Hill and Florence Bell Waddington. When he was one-year-old they moved to Manzanola, Colo., where he lived until he married Dorothy Louise Westerman Aug. 24, 1936. They recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.
Stanley and his young family moved to the Adrian area with his parents in Sept., 1938 to farm on Mendiola Road.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. He supported his wife in her genealogy research and her work in preserving Malheur County history. He served on the Adrian Presbyterian Church board for several years.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Louise; sons, Carl Lee and wife, Jinny; David and wife, Elaine, all of Adrian; daughter, Nancy and husband, Ed Hanson, Central Point; one sister, Grace Morris, Montesano, Wash.; three nieces, and one nephew; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Edith Rudge.

Francis Carmony McShane

Francis Carmony McShane, 88, La Grande, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, in a local care facility following a brief illness. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004 at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street La Grande, Oregon. Recitation of the Rosary will follow at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Daniels Chapel of the Valley. A Requiem Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2004 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 1002 L Avenue, with Father Hank Albrecht officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest East Cemetery.
Mr. McShane was born September 26, 1916, to Martin Francis and Maude Mae (England) McShane in Forbes, N.D. He attended State Normal and Industrial College in Ellendale, N.D., before entering the Marine Corps in July 1942 where he served in Saipan, Okinawa and China. While on leave in Los Angeles he met his future wife of more than 58 years, Margaret (Peggy) Stanton. They were married upon his discharge from the service in 1946. He worked for the Oregon State Department of Agriculture in Salem for a short time before becoming the City Recorder in Ontario in 1947. In 1955, he moved his growing family to La Grande, and assumed the position of City Recorder-Treasurer until his retirement in 1981.
He was a man of strong faith with a legendary sense of humor. He enjoyed his family, camping, fishing and walking. He was diagnosed with macular degeneration in his later years, but continued to walk and perform chores around the house, always perfectly done. He passed on his love and knowledge of sports to his family and listened to his Talking Books for the Blind for hours.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peggy) McShane, La Grande; children and their spouses; Brian and Pam McShane, Aurora, Colorado; Michael and Isabel McShane, Columbia, Md.; Kirk and Denise McShane, Portland; Jeffrey and Rachel (Lawrence) McShane, Pendleton; Gregory McShane, Pendleton; Rebecca McShane, Newberg; and Maureen McShane, Newberg; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, several cousins, in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
