Patricia Jeanne Warner

Patricia Jeanne Warner, 73, of Ashland, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at the Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.

Lawrence Edward "Larry" Stone

Lawrence Edward "Larry" Stone, 68, of Ashland, died Friday, Jan. 31 at Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 at the Masonic Center, 570 Clover Lane, Ashland. Rev. John Braund of Asante Hospice Chaplain and Rev. Bill Hare will officiate.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.

Larry Edward Stone was born May 26, 1934 in Portland, Ore., to Russell and Zoe (Seybold) Stone. He moved to the Rogue Valley in August 1983 from Corvallis, Ore.

On Jan. 23, 1959 in Corvallis, Ore., he married Irene Niemczak who survives.

He attended schools in Portland and Corvallis. He worked as a custodian in Corvallis and Ashland schools.

His hobbies included toy collecting, hunting, fishing and gardening.

Larry was a member of the Masonic Lodge #23, Eastern Star #1 (Ashland), charter member of the Corvallis Eagles, a member of the Moose Lodge in Corvallis, a life member of the National Good Sams Club and Southern Oregon Good Sams.

Survivors include wife, Irene of Ashland; daughters, Sherri Cessnun of Thorne Bay, Ark.; sons, Kelly Stone of Monmouth, Ore. and Randy Stone of Redding, Calif.; brother, Russell B. Stone, Jr. of Ashland; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home.

Emma Jane Schubert

Private family memorial services will be held for Emma Jane Schubert who was born and died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at Ashland Community Hospital.

Survivors include her parents, Malcolm and Jessica (Dunn) Schubert of Ashland; brother, Jack Malcolm Schubert of Ashland; grandparents, Susan Schubert of Bisbee, Ariz., Sandra Lindley of Ashland and Eric and Debra Dunn of Sonoma, Calif.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.

Frances Elizabeth Annis

Frances Elizabeth Annis, 101, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at home after a brief illness.

She was born March 17, 1901 in Azalea, Ore., the daughter of Robert T. Johnson and Annie Marie Stuart Johnson. She married Charles F. Annis on Feb. 22, 1922 and the couple lived in California and Oregon until his death in 1974. She then moved to Ontario, Ore., where she was known for her beautiful flower garden.

Survivors include daughter Rosemary Henigson of Ontario; grandsons, Stephen S. Henigson of Bellevue, Wash. and Stuart F. Henigson of Ashland; granddaughter, Leah K. Henigson of Ashland; seven great-grandchildren; and one niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, two brothers, one granddaughter and one nephew.

The family plans a private graveside memorial service in Nyssa, Ore.

Michelle Rose Ellen Aguirre

Michelle Rose Ellen Aguirre, 10, of Medford, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003. The funeral service will be at noon Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at the Talent Friends Church, 50 Talent Ave., Talent. Pastor David Howell will officiate. Interment will follow in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.

Michelle was born Nov. 06, 1992 in Phoenix, daughter of Edward A and Carroll B. (Wheeler) Aguirre. She lived in the Rogue Valley all her life. She was home schooled. She collected lizards and doodlebugs, loved animals and trained her dogs Regis.

Survivors include sisters, Mary Aguirre of Sausalito, Calif., April Pace of Honolulu, Hawaii, Cheerie Aguirre of Medford, Spring Aguirre of Medford, Suzanne Aguirre of Medford, Holly Aguirre of Medford; brothers, Andrew, Jonathan, Mark, Jared and Joshua all of Medford; parents, Ed and Carroll Aguirre of Medford; grandparents, Adeline Aguirre of San Jose, Calif. Wade and Anne Wheeler of Dunlap, Tenn. She was preceded in death by Jed Aguirre in 1990.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.

Robert Lee "Bob" Tholander

Robert Lee "Bob" Tholander, age 74 of Globe, Ariz., passed away Jan. 28, 2003, at the VA Center in Phoenix. He was born in Elgin, Ill . on Oct. 11, 1928, the son of Helga Linnea Ingaborg Ecklund and Carl Axel Herman Tholander. An Air Force veteran, he lived in Arizona for nine years, having moved there from Ashland. Bob worked in the Senior Devision of the Tonto National Forest until his wrestle with pancreatic cancer. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church. He has been Senior Aaronic President, a Seventy, a Home Teacher, Ward Membership Clerk, a Stake Canning Specialist, Executive Secretary, a Boy Scout Chair Member and other functions.

He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and neighbor. He was a friend to all and helped all he could. As a convert to the church, he did not have the opportunity to serve a mission in his youth (although he did serve two stake Missions later).

He was preceded in death by both his parents; a brother, Glen Richard Tholander; and two sisters, Janet Evelyn Yutzrenka and Linda Lou Wells. Bob Tholander left behind in loving memory his wife, Rae Tholander; sister, Nancy Jean Pounders; three daughters, Rae Mangum and her husband Joe, Amy Russell and Bert Watson and her husband Darrell; father-in-law, Keith Adams; sixteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

A joint service will be held for Mr. and Mrs. Tholander. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003 at the Relief Society Room, LDS Miami Ward, 4247 E. Broadway, Claypool, Ariz. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Interment will be held at a later date at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix, Ariz.

Belle Rae Redfern Tholander

Belle Rae Redfern Tholander, age 68 of Globe, Ariz., passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Cobre Valley Community Hospital. After her husband, Robert Lee Tholander, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, she suffered a severe headache and was taken to the hospital. She had a blockage to the brain and passed away just four days after her husband. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, Calif. as an only child. A licensed cosmetologist and talented homemaker, she was greatly gifted in crocheting, sewing, rubber-stamping, cooking and canning. She was the bookkeeper and accountant for their Mom and Pop Store in Logan, Utah and Ward Librarian in Oxnard, Calif. She was the visiting teaching supervisor in the Miami Ward and an assistant to her husband in the Stake Cannery. She was also the Ward and Stake Welfare director in both Ashland and Logan, Utah.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Tholander, Rae Tholander left behind in loving memory three daughters, Rae Mangum and her husband Joe, Amy Russell and Bert Watson and her husband Darrell; father-in-law, Keith Adams; sixteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Bill J. Cox

Bill J. Cox peacefully passed away in his Ashland home Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at the age of 76.

He leaves behind numerous stories and memories cherished by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ginger; son, Bill (Debi) Cox of Medford; two daughters, Patricia Cox of Casselberry, Fl. and Sharon (Charlie) Hobein of Central Point; five grandchildren, Trivia (Joe) Burkhart, Richard Guthrie, Todd (Barbie) Hobein, Tricia Frank and Matthew Cox; three great grandchildren, Jesse Guthrie, Emily and Megan Burkhart; and many extended family members and friends.

Bill worked diligently at different jobs over his lifetime, retiring from the City of Ashland in 1991. Following retirement, he worked at the Ashland Daily Tidings for seven years. He served his country during W.W. II as a member of the US Navy and was a member of the Ashland Elks Lodge 944 until 2000 when he took a demit for medical reasons.

Bill was a quiet and gentle man devoted to his family. He was an avid reader who treasured fishing, camping and trips to the coast.

Per his wishes, a memorial service will be held at his favorite fishing spot in Brookings in August of this year. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to RVMC Asante health Services.

"He was our Angel in Life, now he is our Angel in Heaven."

Allan Joseph Karle

Allan Joseph Karle, 46, of Phoenix, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at his residence.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.

Evelyn Reynolds

A family graveside service will be held for Evelyn Reynolds, 76, of Ashland, who died Tuesday, January 28, 2003, at the Skylark Extended Care Facility in Ashland. Interment will be at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland,

She was born Oct. 26, 1926 at Dardenelle, Ark. the daughter of Vinnie and Bernie Atkins. On Dec. 16, 1945 at Centerviller, Ark., she married Don Reynolds who preceded her in death in 1990. She was raised in Arkansas and lived in Lakeview, Ore. and French Town, Mont. before moving to Talent/Medford area in 1987. She worked as a care give for the State of Oregon of several years.

Surviving are: one daughter, Sherry Olson of Phoenix; one son, Howard Reynolds of Reno, Nev.; one sister, Gelia Owens of Sparks, Nev.; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.

Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.
