Steve Morris
Steve Morris was born on May 3, 1952 in San Diego, Calif, where he grew up. For the last 10 years he lived in Etna, Calif. and Ashland. On Feb. 24, 2003, Steve died from a fall while doing the building work he loved, this time on a home near Hornbrook, Calif.
Steve was a master carpenter and craftsman. He also played guitar and drums, and loved music, drawing and calligraphy. He was a tumbleweed who loved the road. That road took him to many different work places, and to his great circle of friends. All who knew him were touched deeply. They will remember him for his full-tilt joy in the moment, his enthusiastic stories, his great big laugh, total generosity and gentle presence. Steve's friends will recognize some of his values and passions in "The Simple Life of Noah Dearborne," a film that recently affected him powerfully.
Steve leaves behind his brother Carl Morris of Cambridge, Mass.; sister and brother-in-law Ann and Sheridon Stokes of Bodega Bay, Calif.; his former wife Ann Morris of Carmel, Calif.; his close companion Patricia Zoline of Ashland; a cousin; a nephew; and many, many dear friends. He is terribly missed, and will be forever in their hearts.
