Randall Lovejoy
The memorial service for Randall Lovejoy will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2003 at Perl Chapel at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mr. Lovejoy, 75, of Medford, died Saturday, May 10, 2003 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1927, in Seattle, a son of Cliff and Lois (Burns) Lovejoy.
Mr. Lovejoy was a 1944 graduate of Medford High School. He received a degree in economics from Stanford University. He lived in Ashland for 33 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Lovejoy was in the nursery business and worked as a landscape gardener.
He owned and operated Dairy Queen in Ashland for a time. He enjoyed the outdoors, animals, gardening and music.
Survivors include a sister, Jerrilee Carter, of Oracle, Ariz.

Billie L. Buchanan
The funeral for Billie L. Buchanan will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2003 at Perl Chapel at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mrs. Buchanan, 75, of Phoenix, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dogs for the Deaf, 10175 Wheeler Road, Central Point, Ore. 97502.
She was born Billie L. Williams on Dec. 10, 1927, in Los Angeles. On July 4,1947 in Compton, Calif., she married Paul W. Buchanan. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1983 from Pico Rivera, Calif.
Mrs. Buchanan attended a school for the deaf in Los Angeles. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Buchanan enjoyed animals and gardening.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Paula Gray, Eagle Point, and Shirley Harper, Bristol, Va.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2003 at Perl Funeral Home, Medford.
Jean F. Freese
Jean F. Freese, 88, of Ashland, died May 11, 2003, at her home. Private services will be held.

She was born Dec. 22, 1914, in Clio, Mich., a daughter of John Stuber and Francis Powell. She moved to the Rogue Valley three years ago from Palo Alto, Calif.
Mrs. Freese enjoyed music, especially the Beatles, reading and dancing.
Survivors include a son, Dennis, Ashland; two daughters, Donna Sawall, Houghton Lake, Mich., and Della Masse, Davison, Mich.; three brothers; one sister; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

James R. Willson
James R. Willson, 73, of Ashland, died Thursday, May 15, 2003 at the Ashland Community Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.
Annetta Lee Scalberg
The memorial service for Annetta Lee Scalberg will be held Monday, May 19, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Eastwood Baptist Church, 675 N. Keeneway Drive, Medford.
Private inurnment services have been held in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
Ms. Scalberg, 60, of Medford, died May 7, 2003 at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Ms. Scalberg was born Sept. 11, 1942, in Hibbing, Minn., to Wilbur and Martha (Tremblay) Scalberg, who survive. The family moved to Medford from Keewatin, Minn. in 1945. She attended Sammy Harris Kindergarten in Medford and special education classes at Washington and Jackson elementary schools; she also attended the School of Hope at Westminster Presbyterian Church and was privately tutored by Ruth Dunn.
Ms. Scalberg was employed by the Medford Chamber of Commerce since 1995. In her younger days she enjoyed Campfire Girls, Girl Scouts, Special Olympics, Oregon Games for the Physically Limited, and YMCA swim programs She was past president of People First.
Ms. Scalberg volunteered at the ARC Thrift Shop, Villa Royal (Medford Rehab Center) Providence Hospice, and KSYS Channel 8. She helped with crafts at Three Fountains and Boys and Girls Club.
Ms. Scalberg enjoyed trailering and camping with her family, grafts, puzzles, and games.
Survivors include her parents, Wilbur and Martha Scalberg of Medford; and two brothers, Ernest James Scalberg of Carmel, Calif., and Daniel A. Scalberg of Vancouver, Wash.

Joe A. Millard
The graveside memorial service for Joe A. Millard will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday. May 21, 2003 at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.
Mr. Millard, 82, of Hemet, Calif., formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Monday, April 28, 2003 at the Hemet Valley Medical Center, Hemet, Calif.
He was born Sept. 15, 1920 at Red Moss Colorado, the son of Joe and Erin Millard. He was raised in Jackson County, and on November 15, 1943 in San Francisco, married the former Elma Springer who preceded him in death in 1987. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Mr. Millard lived in the Rogue valley until 1986 when he moved to Hemet, Calif. He worked for the Steve Wilson Lumber Company for over 20 years and retired in 1982. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include three sons, Glenn Millard of Phoenix, Ore., Donald Millard of Chemult, Ore., and Richard Millard of Chemult, Ore.; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, one son, one daughter, one brother, and one sister preceded him in death.
