Delores Cox Malone
Delores Cox Malone, 62, formerly of Medford, died Thursday (Dec. 18, 1997) in San Francisco. A memorial service will be held later.
She was born Delores Cox on April 2, 1935, in Bremerton, Wash., and the family moved to Medford in 1944.
She attended Roosevelt School, graduated from Medford High School, and attended Southern Oregon College for two years. She received her degree in business administration from the University of Oregon.
In 1961 in Central Point she married Calvin Malone, who survives. They then moved to San Francisco.
Mrs. Malone was an executive secretary to the board of trustees of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, retiring in 1996.
They Malones traveling extensively abroad.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her father and stepmother, J. Ernest and Gladys Cox, Medford.

Pearl Margery Howard
The graveside service for Pearl Margery Howard will be at noon Wednesday in Siskiyou Memorial Park. Lyle McCaw, minister of White City Church of Christ, will officiate.
Mrs. Howard, 82, of Medford, died Friday (Dec. 26, 1997) at Hearthstone.
She was born Aug. 1, 1915, in Phoenix, a daughter of Ira and Henrietta Dawson.
On June 10, 1935, in Grants Pass, she married Stanley William Howard, who died in 1994. For a brief period they lived in Sacramento and Red Bluff, Calif.
Mrs. Howard enjoyed music and reading.
Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Smith, Medford, and Eleanor Schwab, San Diego, Calif.; three brothers, Orval, Larry and Dennis Dawson, all Medford; a sister, Dorothy Bonar, San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Clark.

Billie Anderson
The funeral for Billie Katherine Anderson will be at 2 p.m. today at Community Bible Church, Central Point. Pastor Pete Slusher will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Anderson, 71, of Central Point, died Saturday (Dec. 27, 1997) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
She was born Billie Katherine White on Jan. 14, 1926, in Orr, Okla.
After graduating from Orr High School, she moved to Bakersfield, Calif., to work in her aunt's cafe.
In 1942, in Bakersfield, she married Andy Anderson, who was in the Army Air Corps.
The Andersons worked for Safeway Stores, before moving to Rosemead, Calif., where they operated their own market. They later owned and operated Andy's Fine Foods in Montclair, Calif.
Mrs. Anderson moved to Central Point three years ago to live with her aunt, Louise Newell. For the past 18 months she was the caregiver for Terry Denton.
Survivors include three sons, Duane, West Covina, Calif., Joe, Pomona, Calif., and Darrell, Redding, Calif.; three brothers, Harold White, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Jerry and Kenneth White, both Ringland, Okla.; and three grandchildren.

Vilora L. Coulter
Vilora L. Coulter, 92, of Medford, died Wednesday (Dec. 24, 1997) at Three Fountains Nursing Center. No service is planned.
She was born Jan. 28, 1905, in Bellevue, Idaho, and moved to the Rogue Valley in 1987.
Mrs. Coulter was a security guard.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mrs. Coulter enjoyed writing poetry and cooking.
There are no known survivors. Two sons preceded her in death.

Millie Walton
Millie Walton, 69, of Medford, died Wednesday (Dec. 24, 1997) at her home. No service is planned. Interment will be in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.

She was born Mildred Arlene Carter on July 5, 1928, in Shelton, Wash.
On June 4, 1948, in Shelton, she married Leslie Charles Walton, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1968 from Arcata, Calif.
Mrs. Walton was a teacher's aide for the Medford 549C School District primarily at Jackson School, with the last two years at McLoughlin Middle School.
She was a volunteer at Rogue Valley Medical Center as a Pink Lady and in its Children's Hearing Center. She was a Sunday School teacher at St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Charlene Peterson, Ashland; a son, Richard, North Bend; and seven grandchildren.

Bob Root
The memorial service for Robert "Bob" W. Root will be at 4 p.m. Jan. 6 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Medford. The Rev. Alan Jackson will officiate. Private inurnment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mr. Root, 81, of Medford, died Monday (Dec. 22, 1997) at the Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Root, a longtime orchardist, operated in partnership Myron Root and Co., Crater Lakes Orchards, and Sabroso.
He was born April 14, 1916, in Medford.
On April 5, 1944, in Medford, he married Betty Fowler, who survives.
He was a graduate of Oregon State University, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He also was a member of the University Club in Medford.
He was a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Timothy, Ashland; two daughters, Susan Collins, Houston, Texas, and Catherine Mink, Salem; and four grandchildren. A brother, Donald, died in 1988.

James R. Kirkpatrick
The graveside service for James R. Kirkpatrick will be at 1 p.m. today in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Revs. David Gomez of the Jerusalem Center and Gary Shaffer will officiate.
Mr. Kirkpatrick, 72, of Medford, died Wednesday (Dec. 24, 1997) at his home.

He was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Stuttgart, Ark.
He served in the U.S. Navy for more than 30 years, retiring as a chief electrician's mate.
On Dec. 8, 1962, in Forest Falls, Calif., he married Beryle Louise Chaney, who survives. They moved to Medford in 1970.
He worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Wash., for four years.
In 1979 Mr. Kirkpatrick was ordained a minister of the Pentecostal Evangelical Church and served as assistant pastor of the Jerusalem Center and at other churches in counseling and teaching.
Mr. Kirkpatrick was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Naval Reserve Association. He enjoyed American history and horses.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include six sons, Judidiah Kirkpatrick, Medford, Charles, Newport, Rene, Newport News, Va., Faron Lee, Dallas, Texas, William Edward Duffy, North Bend, Wash., and Thomas Sunday, Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Cheryl Musgrove,
Newport News; a brother, Murle Marion, San Francisco, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Dale.

Glo Mansfield
The memorial service for Gloria "Glo" Lee Mansfield, former owner and operator of the Fish Lake Resort, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the First Southern Baptist Church. Pastor Richard Doig will officiate.
Mrs. Mansfield, 72, of Eagle Point, died Friday (Dec. 26, 1997) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Gloria Lee Harris on June 30, 1925, in Tulsa, Okla.
On July 16, 1966, in Fullerton, Calif., she married James "Matt" M. Mansfield, who survives. They moved to Oregon in 1982.
The Mansfields owned and operated Fish Lake Resort from 1982 to 1991.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Timothy A. Courson, Chino Hills, Calif.; two daughters, Leslee D. Montgomery, Lancaster, Calif., and Dr. Sharon L. Irvine, Fort Worth, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A son, David S., and a daughter, Theresa L. Albright, preceded her in death.
