Linda L. Frazier

The memorial service for Linda L. Frazier will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 21083 Oregon 62, Shady Cove.

Mrs. Frazier, 33, of Shady Cove, died Wednesday (Dec. 31, 1997) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Linda Weaver on May 26, 1964 in Compton, Calif.

On Feb. 1, 1986, in Shady Cove, she married James Monroe "Monte" Frazier, who survives.

Mrs. Frazier was a florist.

She enjoyed elk hunting.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, James Colby Frazier, Shady Cove; her parents, Robert and Norma Jean Weaver, Shady Cove; a sister, Jenny Rasmussen, Shady Cove; and two brothers, Doug Weaver, Shady Cove, and Todd Weaver, Mill City.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Eddy Weaver.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral.

Larry Loughridge Dale

The memorial service for Larry Loughridge Dale will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2000 Oakwood Drive in Medford. The Revs. Alan W. Jackson and Ted S. Broadway will officiate. Inurnment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Memorial Garden.

Mr. Dale, 78, of Medford, died Sunday (Dec. 28, 1997) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1425 N.E. Irving St., Suite 100, Portland, OR 97232.

He was born Oct. 5, 1919, in Minneapolis, Minn.

Mr. Dale was a 1943 graduate of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C., majoring in journalism. He was a member of the Glee Club.

He worked for United Press, then United Press International from 1943 to 1955.

Mr. Dale owned and operated the Hornell Business School in New York from 1955 until the school closed in 1959.

He was public relations director and editor at Alfred University from 1959 to 1975. He earned his master's degree in education there in 1965.

From 1975 until retiring in 1981, Mr. Dale was director of public relations for Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Va. He lived in Laguna Hills and San Jose, Calif., before moving to the Rogue Valley five years ago.

On Sept. 28, 1985, in Menlo Park, Calif., he married Betty Hazleton, who survives.

An avid sailor, Mr. Dale was a member of the Keuka Lake Sailing Club, the Hornell Rotary Club and the Alfred Lions Club.

He enjoyed singing, dancing, photography and motorcycling.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Nancy Clark, Hornell, N.Y.; a son, Gordon, Hornell; two brothers, Richard, San Jose, and Gordon, Laguna Niguel, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Ivy Minor

The memorial service for Ivanell "Ivy" Minor will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the West Main Church of Christ, Medford, preceded by a graveside service in Hillcrest Memorial Park at 11 a.m., and luncheon at the church at noon. San Johnson, minister, will officiate.

Mrs. Minor, 64, of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 5, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Ivanell Payne on Sept. 28, 1933, in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and moved to the Rogue Valley in 1959 from San Bernardino, Calif.

On March 25, 1977, in Reno, Nev., she married Johnie Minor, who survives.

Mrs. Minor was a bank teller and worked in the escrow department of local banks.

In Medford, she was a member of the West Main Church of Christ and the Senior Citizen Club. She was also a member of the Pinochle Club in Ashland.

Mrs. Minor enjoyed fishing, reading and pinochle.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Ron Harvey, Medford, and Steve Harvey, Honolulu, Hawaii; two stepdaughters, Lou Barris, Central Point, and Shirley Hamilton, Jacksonville; a brother, Russell Payne, Upland, Calif.; three sisters, Ruby Steinmeier, Turlock, Calif., Elizabeth Steveson, Sagle, Idaho, and Roberta Hicks, Spring Hill, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, 550 Business Park Drive in Medford.

Gerald Dean Eller

The funeral for Gerald Dean Eller will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memory Gardens Chapel in Medford. Private interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mr. Eller, 93, of Medford, died Friday (Dec. 26, 1997) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

He was born March 14, 1904, in David City, Neb.

Mr. Eller, a steamfitter, retired from the U.S. Navy.

In 1946, in Reno, Nev., he married Estella Conduff, who died in 1981. They moved to the Rogue Valley 20 years ago from Roseburg.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Evans in California.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

John Bakshas

The memorial service for John Bakshas will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Siskiyou Memorial Park. The Rev. Robert L. Larson of Ascension Lutheran Church will officiate.

Mr. Bakshas, 90, of Medford, died Friday (Jan. 2, 1998) at Hearthstone.

He was born Oct. 13, 1907, in Kendall, Mont.

Mr. Bakshas owned and operated a real estate brokerage firm.

He enjoyed fishing, flying, hunting and collecting antiques.

Survivors include two sons, Ken, Medford, and Keith, Central Point; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. His wife, Ellen, died in 1978. A brother and a sister also preceded him in death.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary.

Rusty Maulsby

The memorial graveside service for M.J. "Rusty" Maulsby will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford. David E. Campbell of Ashland will officiate.

Mr. Maulsby, 85, of Ashland, died Sunday (Jan. 4, 1998) in Ashland.

He was born Nov. 10, 1912, in Fonda, Iowa.

On Nov. 26, 1954, in Napa, Calif., he married Marjorie Freeman, who died in 1983. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1932 from Malta, Mont.

Mr. Maulsby owned and operated several grocery stores in the Medford and Ashland areas.

He was a 50-year member of the Ashland Elks Lodge.

He enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Survivors include two stepsons, Don Freeman, Eugene, and James R. Freeman, Kings Beach, Calif.; a brother; four sisters; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Betty H. Kester

The memorial service for Betty H. Kester will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Ashland. The Rev. Michael Powell will officiate.

Mrs. Kester, 84, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 3, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 175 N. Main St., Ashland, OR 97520.

She was born Betty Hammond on Jan. 8, 1913, in Lincoln, Neb.

On Jan. 1, 1960, in Juneau, Alaska, she married Francis "Ned" Kester, who died April 12, 1982. They moved to Ashland in 1976.

Mrs. Kester was a member of PEO Sisterhood, American Association of University Women, Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of its Super Seniors and Sunday Lunch Bunch.

Survivors include a sister, Lois Hammond Reedy, Lakewood, Colo.; and a brother, William H. Hammond, Pittsburgh, Pa. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Frisbee Hammond.

Arrangements: Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

Mary Lillie Ross

The funeral for Mary Lillie Ross will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene, Medford. Pastor Craig Rench will officiate. Private interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mrs. Ross, 82, of Medford, died Sunday (Jan. 4, 1998) in Eagle Point.

She was born Mary Lillie Mitsch on March 29, 1915, in Woodbine, Kan.

On June 6, 1939, in Vancouver, Wash., she married Walter Ross, who died in 1996. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1956 from Aumsville.

Mrs. Ross worked for Rogue River Packing Corp. in Medford for 12 years.

She was a longtime member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Ross enjoyed gardening, sewing and music.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy A. Medina, Eagle Point, and Carolyn Long, Seaside; a son, W. George, Gaston; three sisters, Ruth Calhoun, Canby, Martha Cannon, Lebanon, and Lois Mitsch, Salem; two brothers, John Mitsch, Canby, and Nathan Mitsch, Albany; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
