Margaret Mialkovsky
The memorial service for Margaret Louise Mialkovsky will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Shady Cove. Interment will be in the family plot in Colma, Calif.
Mrs. Mialkovsky, 84, of Butte Falls, died Saturday (Jan. 10, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born Margaret Louise Howard on Nov. 25, 1913, in San Francisco.
In 1940 she married Nick Mialkovsky, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1995.
Mrs. Mialkovsky was a member of the Shady Cove congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She enjoyed trout fishing.
Her daughter-in-law, Jill Mialkovsky, Butte Falls, was her caregiver.
Survivors include a son, Al, Butte Falls; a daughter, Jeanne McDermott, San Bruno, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jessie Rosabell Harris
The memorial service for Jessie Rosabell Harris will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Lampman Road Baptist Church in Gold Hill. Pastor Bob Batt will officiate.
Mrs. Harris, 63, of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 12, 1998) at her home.

She was born Jessie Rosabell Mackie on April 3, 1934, in Beverly Hills, Calif. She grew up in the Medford and Ashland areas and was a graduate of Ashland High School.
In 1964, in Tahoe City, Calif., she married Homer Bell Harris, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Harris was a member of the Lampman Road Baptist Church.
She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and playing Bingo.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda D. McMillen, Medford, and Lesa S. Best, Gold Hill; two sons, Patrick D. Seaver, Central Point, and Shawn A. Harris, Salem; a sister, Paula Pearson, Buena Park, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Robert Roy Gast
The memorial service for Robert Roy Gast will be at 3 p.m. today in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. David Rupp of Ascension Lutheran Church of Medford and Buzz Fish of the Warren Lodge, Jacksonville, and the Central Point Masonic Lodge will officiate.
Mr. Gast, 73, of Eagle Point, died Sunday (Jan. 11, 1998) at his home.

He was born April 9, 1924, in Detroit, Mich.
On Dec. 15, 1945, in Louisville, Ky., he married Lila Hutchison, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley 5 years ago from Rohnert Park, Calif.
Mr. Gast served in the U.S. Navy, Submarine Service, for 20 years, part of which was during World War II. He retired in 1983.
He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Santa Rosa, Calif.
Mr. Gast was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Medford, American Legion and a past commander of the Petaluma, Calif., Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Active in the Masonic Lodge in Petaluma, he also was a member of the Shrine, and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Mr. Gast enjoyed rock polishing and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Robert B., Calistoga, Calif.; a daughter, Judie Gast, Carson City, Nev.; two sisters, Dorris Whitcomb, Clarkston, Mich., and Carol Benedict, Kellogg, Idaho; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

May Elizabeth Branch
The memorial service for May Elizabeth Branch will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rogue River Church of Christ. Pastor Jack Zieser will officiate.
Mrs. Branch, 79, of Rogue River, died Saturday (Jan. 10, 1998) at Highland House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Grants Pass.
She was born May Elizabeth Hayner on Aug. 22, 1918, in Canon City, Colo., and attended schools in Colorado and Portland.
On March 28, 1934, in Glenwood Springs, Colo., she married Carl Mace Schlegel, who died in October 1961.
She first moved to the Rogue Valley in 1980 from Illinois, and returned in 1989 after a brief absence.
Mrs. Branch was a bookkeeper.
She was a member of the Rogue River Church of Christ.
Mrs. Branch enjoyed fishing, reading and crafts.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne Derry, Grants Pass, and Sadie Vrooman, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Valley Grover, Bullhead City, Ariz., and Georgia Ramsey, Tacoma, Wash.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Hayner.

Laurene Dunn
The wake for Laurene Dunn will be at 7 p.m. tonight at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Ashland. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, also at the church. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ashland.
Ms. Dunn, 65, of Ashland, died Saturday (Jan. 10, 1998) at her home.

She was born Laurene Wilks on Sept. 24, 1932, in Cheyenne, Wyo.
Ms. Dunn lived in Guam in 1958 and 1959, then moved to Goldsboro, N.C. She returned to Cheyenee in 1962, where she owned and operated a beauty parlor.
In 1976 she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she was an administrative assistant for a law firm.
She was active in the Catholic Church there, and established the Beans Soup Kitchen with her brother, the Rev. Bede Wilks, who survives. The kitchen, which is still active, was the first shelter there to feed the homeless and assist street people.
Ms. Dunn moved to Ashland in 1987 where she was active in Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church.
She enjoyed cooking.
Survivors, in addition to her brother in Eugene, include two sons, Bruce, Ashland, and Paul, Yorktown, Va.; and three grandchildren.

Ray Kirkendall
The graveside service for Sylvester Raymond "Ray" Kirkendall will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Joe McMahan, chaplain at Rogue Valley Medical Center, will officiate.
Mr. Kirkendall, 79, of Central Point, died Friday (Jan. 9, 1998) at the Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 22, 1918, in Camas Valley, a descendant of families who came to the Oregon Territory in the 1840s and 1850s.
He was 1936 graduate of Coquille High School.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy as a boatswain's mate first class on board the battleship USS Idaho. He participated in a number of major campaigns in the Pacific.
He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves for 20 years, retiring in 1962.
On Oct. 9, 1944, in Coquille, he married Emma Janie Patee, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1956 from North Bend.
He first worked for Kogap, then Boise Casacde, retiring in 1983.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and camping.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Linda Faye Ray, Central Point; a son, Detlef Allen, Eagle Point; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Leola Mae TreFethren and Martha Allene Jacobson, preceded him in death.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Hillcrest Chapel.
Ray Beigh
The funeral for Ralph Raymond "Ray" Beigh will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Rogue Valley Christian Church, Medford. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Walla Walla, Wash.
Mr. Beigh, 88, of Central Point, died Saturday (Jan. 10, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born May 31, 1909, in Weiser, Idaho.
In 1930 he married Bernice Alice Higgins, who died Aug. 12, 1992. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1974 from Fresno, Calif.
Mr. Beigh started working in heavy construction in the late 1920s and spent 45 years in that field of work. Throughout the United States he managed construction of dams, tunnels, bridges, highways, powerhouses, and canals.
A craftsman, he enjoyed working with wood, metal, and stone, as well as flytying, and making clocks and watches. His hobby of gardening included flowers, vegetables, and a grape arbor.
Survivors include his companion, Ruth Lotspeich, Central Point; a son, Raymond, Portland; two daughters, Betty Lodmell, Walla Walla, Wash., and Kay Hein, Willits, Calif.; three sisters, Priscilla Lisoski and Fern Gruhlke, both Portland, and Alta LaFrance, Honolulu, Hawaii;
a brother, Clyde, Syracuse, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A sister, Violet Stoll; two brothers, Walter and George; and a grandson, preceded him in death.
