Harold C. Davidson
Harold C. Davidson, 69, of Jacksonville, died Sunday (Jan. 25, 1998) at his home. No service is planned.
He was born June 23, 1928, in Eau Claire, Wis.
Mr. Davidson was a heavy equipment engineer. He moved to Oregon in 1982 from Illinois.
On May 21, 1994, in Reno, Nev., he married Mariann N. Nolan, who survives.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Jay Davidson, Medford; a stepson, Robert Kiefer, Tampa, Fla.; and a granddaughter.

Mildred Bessey Childers
The memorial service for Mildred Adelia Bessey Childers will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Nazarene Church in Drain.
Mrs. Childers, 67, formerly of Central Point, died Sunday (Jan. 18, 1998) at her home in Yoncalla.
She was born Mildred Adelia Ruble on Nov. 12, 1930, in Pocatello, Idaho.
She married James K. Patten Childers Jr., who died in 1960.
Mrs. Childers lived in Central Point from 1960 to 1982, where she was a co-founder of the Central Point Little League. She also owned the Union Club and Our Club, both in Medford.
She married Fred Bessey. They moved to Yoncalla in 1982 and purchased the Detour Cafe.
Survivors include a son, James Ward Childers, Fort Bragg, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Phyllis Childers, Coos Bay; a brother, Dave Ruble, Portland; 10 grandchildren; and her former husband, Fred Bessey, Yoncalla.

Jerry C. Wright
Gerald "Jerry" C. Wright, 83, of Gold Hill, died Tuesday (Jan. 27, 1998) at his home. A private service is planned.

He was born Aug. 13, 1914, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
On Jan. 3, 1936, in Hollywood, Calif., he married Doris Barrick, who survives.
They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1984 from Garden Grove, Calif.
Mr. Wright was a salesman.
He enjoyed art, woodworking, fishing, and traveling.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Dorald Stoltz, Salem, Carol Hooper, Lancaster, Calif., and Crystal Pullen, Anaheim, Calif.; two sons, Gerald Jr., Bloomington, Ind., and Anthony, Roseburg; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Arthur L. Nickerson Jr.
The memorial service for Arthur Lincoln Nickerson Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hugo Baptist Church. Pastor Terry Isabell will officiate.
Mr. Nickerson, 74, of Merlin, died Saturday (Jan. 24, 1998) at his home.
He was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Los Angeles, where he grew up.
He attended Mount Carmel Boys Catholic School in Los Angeles.
On Dec. 20, 1964, in Huntington Park, Calif., he married Beverly Jean Guinan, who survives. They moved to Merlin in 1990 from Cameron Park, Calif.
Mr. Nickerson was a sales executive for seven years with the Nickel Want Ad newspaper. He was operations manager for eight years with American River Packaging in Sacramento, Calif., and for 13 years was inside sales manager for Western Kraft, a division of Willamette Industries in Cerritos, Calif.
He attended the Hugo Baptist Church and enjoyed golf, painting, fishing, and traveling in his motor home.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Lance Arthur, Merlin; two brothers, Emmett Kelly, San Jacinto, Calif., and Mark Kelly, Hemet, Calif.; and a granddaughter.

Alice I. Milam
Alice Irene Milam, 56, of Medford, died Thursday (Jan. 22, 1998) at her home. A private service was held.
She was born Alice Weedman on Aug. 4, 1941, in Galesburg, Ill.
In April of 1966 in Grants Pass, she married Edward W. Milam, who died in 1976.
Mrs. Milam enjoyed the ocean and her bunko group.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Alice Milam, Medford, and Elizabeth "Kay" Thompson, Kent, Wash.; a brother, John W. Weedman Jr., Avondale, Ariz.; two sisters, Roseanna Stamat, Flushing Queens, N.Y., and Anita Rice, Show Low, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.

Clarice W. Harper
Clarice W. Harper. 86, of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 26, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service is planned.
She was born Clarice Weeks on Nov. 7, 1911, in Moorefield, Neb.
On March 26, 1962, in Reno, she married Robert Lee Harper, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1975 from Porterville, Calif.
A registered nurse, Mrs. Harper was a ward nurse with the State of California for 27 years.
She enjoyed crochet, fishing, and watching football games.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two brothers, Jack Weeks, Fillmore, Calif., and Fred Weeks, Clifton, Colo.; and a sister, Loretta Schultz, Grass Valley, Calif. She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Bonnie B. Bernal
The graveside service for Bonnie B. Bernal will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Bernal, 62, of Phoenix, died Monday (Jan. 26, 1998) at her home.
She was born Bonnie Young on March 27, 1935, in Clinton, Okla., and the family moved to the Rogue Valley in 1945.
Mrs. Bernal worked for Sabroso and at a flower nursery. She was a member of the Northwest Seasonal Workers Association.
She enjoyed making blankets for local families, raising birds, and crocheting.
Survivors include three sons, Terry, Gerald and Raymond; seven daughters, Kathy, Martha, Bonnie, Pam, Cheryl, Teresa and Darilyn; two sisters, Jean Shults and Katherine Clarke; and 22 grandchildren.

Grace Reymers Thayer
Grace Reymers Thayer, 85, longtime executive director of the American Cancer Society for Jackson County who helped guide the John Tomlin Memorial Cancer Lectures through its early years, died Saturday (Jan. 24, 1998) in a Portland hospital.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today in the Lincoln Memorial Park Funeral Home, Portland. Interment will follow in Willamette National Cemetery.

She moved to Medford in 1962.
In 1959, three physicians started the John Tomlin Memorial Cancer Lectures in Medford with some of the money the late John Tomlin left to the Oregon Division of the American Cancer Society.
Upon learning of her death, Dr. Florian Shasky said, "She had the knack of getting things done even in the face of great opposition."
The lectures became one of the largest of their kind in the United States, he said.
Mrs. Reymers, while executive director, started numerous cancer education programs for adults and youth. She retired in 1974.
She was a member of the Rogue Valley Country Club and a golfer.
She was born Grace Lynch on June 22, 1912, on a ship en route from Alaska to Seattle.
On Jan. 27, 1975, in Carmel, Calif., she married Lester E. Thayer, who died in 1996.
They lived in Portland, where she was active in the Pleasant Valley Country Club.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Reymers, Portland, and Gary Reymers, Spokane, Wash.; a daughter, Marnie Kesgard, Spokane; and five grandchildren.
