Sylvia M. Suitor
The funeral for Sylvia M. Suitor will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Central Valley Chapel, Central Point. Lyle McCaw, minister of White City Christian Church, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Suitor, 55, of Medford, died Friday (Feb. 6, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
She was born Sylvia McCandless on July 21, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo.
In Las Vegas, she married Jerry Suitor, who preceded her in death.
She moved to the Rogue Valley 26 years ago from Glendale, Calif.
Mrs. Suitor was a registered nurse, working in nursing homes.
A member of CERVS and the Northwest Seasonal Workers Association, she also enjoyed American Indian culture, camping, fishing, and shopping at secondhand stores.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Blanco, Medford; a son, David, Jal, N.M.; a brother, James R. McCandless, Buckner, Mo.; two sisters, Sandra Baldous and Kathy Owens, both Buckner; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Central Valley Chapel.

Jack Louis Raapke
The memorial service for John "Jack" Louis Raapke, former partner in Dempster Furniture Co. in Medford, will be held Thursday at the John A. Gentleman Funeral Home in Omaha, Neb. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Omaha.
Mr. Raapke, 76, died Saturday (Feb. 7, 1998) at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif. His home was in Port Ludlow, Wash.

He was born April 2, 1921, in Steiner, Neb.
On Feb. 15, 1947, in Omaha, he married Betty Dempster, who survives. They moved to Medford in 1956.
Mr. Raapke was a partner for 30 years in the Dempster Furniture Co. in Medford.
They moved to Port Ludlow in 1981.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
While in Medford, Mr. Raapke was active in the Rotary Club and continued to be in the Port Townsend, Wash., club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He also was a commodore in the Port Ludlow Yacht Club, a member of Pathfinders and the Port Ludlow Amateur Ham Radio Operators.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Marian Novack, Las Cruces, N.M., Jane Bill, Las Vegas, Nev., and Deborah Anderson, Waco, Texas; three sisters, Mary Louise Raapke and Peggy Ederer, both Omaha, and Dorothy Reid, Agoura, Calif.;
and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John L.

Anne K. Sage
The memorial service for Anne K. Sage will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Medford. The Revs. Emmett Shortreed and Bunny Oliver will officiate. Private interment was in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mrs. Sage, 80, of Medford, died Sunday (Feb. 8, 1998) at her home.

She was born Anne Coster on Oct. 17, 1917, in Boston, Mass.
On Aug. 26, 1943, in Boston, she married Robert W. Sage, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley 43 years ago.
Mrs. Sage was a secretary for 20 years with the Bureau of Land Management, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and active in its Women's Society. She enjoyed playing bridge and reading.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Peter W., Medford, and David D., Wasilla, Alaska; a daughter, Susan Penelope Flenniken, Portland; two brothers, James Coster, North Chelmsford, Mass., and Ted Coster, Andover, Mass.; and five grandchildren.
A sister, Penelope Lafionatis, died the same day.

Duane Isreal Hutchins
The funeral for Duane Isreal Hutchins will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, Medford. Pastor Bob Gass of Harvest Baptist Church will officiate. Entombment will be in Hillcrest Memoria Park.
Mr. Hutchins, 76, of Medford, died Sunday (Feb. 8, 1998) at his home.

He was born July 9, 1921, in Hastings, Neb., and the family moved to the Rogue Valley in 1925.
Mr. Hutchins moved to Sutherlin in 1948, to Grants Pass in 1956, and to Medford in 1962.
In 1941, in Corvallis, he married June Robbins, who died in 1979.
Mr. Hutchins worked for Hutchins & Clark Construction from 1947 to 1990.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a past president of the Oregon State Home Builders Association and a member of First Christian Church of Medford, and the Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include a son, John M., Jacksonville; two daughters, Judith A. Kirk, Medford, and Janet M. Buffington, Milwaukie; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister, and a great-grandchild.

Leta Marie Sharp
Leta Marie Sharp, 90, of Medford, died Wednesday (Feb. 4, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center. No service is planned.
She was born Leta Marie Saunders on Nov. 29, 1907, in Union, Iowa.
In September 1955, in Las Vegas, she married Frank Sharp, who died in 1978. They moved to Medford from Las Vegas in 1969.
Survivors include a daughter, Janeane Hudson, Medford; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

Mark Timothy Beatty
The memorial service for Mark Timothy Beatty will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Rogue Valley Christian Church, Medford. Pastor John Petersen of New Covenant Fellowship, Medford, will officiate.
Mr. Beatty, 41, of Gold Hill, died Saturday (Feb. 7, 1998) at his home.

He was born July 21, 1956, in Palmdale, Calif.
On Aug. 28, 1982, in Garden Grove, Calif., he married Jill Andrea Austin, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1993 from Wildomar, Calif.
Mr. Beatty was a supervisor with M & B Communications.
He was a member of the New Covenant Fellowship and enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, rafting and camping.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Kyle Ryan, Travis Cheyne, and Bryce Andrew, all Gold Hill; his parents, Royce and Janet Beatty, Myrtle Creek; and two sisters, Laurie Wronski, in Colorado, and Cara Putnam, in Washington.

Eleanor M. McNeill
The graveside service for Eleanor Marcella McNeill will be at 11 a.m. today in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford. Pastor Ron McKay of the Ruch Community Church will officiate.
Mrs. McNeill, 78, of Jacksonville, died Sunday (Feb. 8, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Eleanor Romine on Dec. 10, 1919, in Detroit, Mich.
On June 6, 1942, she married Thomas McNeill, who died March 9, 1990. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1970 from Corona, Calif.
Mrs. McNeill was a member of the Ruch Community Church, where she was active with children's groups, Bible clubs, and foster children and teen groups.
Survivors include five sons, Thomas B., Medford, Daniel and Gordon, both Jacksonville, George, Arlington, Texas, and David, Menifee, Calif.; three daughters, Peggy Powell, Medford, Sharon Ferguson, Centerville, Ohio, and Betty Wade, Arlington; a brother, Merritt Romine, Rochester, Mich.; three sisters, Betty Andersen, Pasco, Wash., Dorothy Fricke, Lillian, Ala., and Carolyn Rhoads, in Michigan; 33 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Thora LaVieve Johnson

The funeral for Thora LaVieve Johnson will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Ms. Johnson, 76, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday (Feb. 4, 1998) at the Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

She was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Globe, Ariz.

She was a presser with Weldon's Cleaners for 10 years.
Years ago, she was host of a gospel radio program in Ashland.
Ms. Johnson was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Jacksonville Ward, and enjoyed fishing, camping, and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include four brothers, Kenneth, Medford, Harvey, Jacksonville, Bob, Buena Park, Calif., and Doug, Mayer, Ariz.; and a sister, Darlene Reeves, Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Friends may pay their respects from 9 a.m. to noon Monday in Memory Gardens Chapel.
