Ervin A. Fiebelkorn

The funeral for Ervin A. Fiebelkorn will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Ascension Lutheran Church, Medford. Pastor Bob Larson will officiate. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Fiebelkorn, 82, of Medford, died Wednesday (Feb. 25, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 2617 E. Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born July 14, 1915, in Hammond, Ind.

On Dec. 26, 1936, in Hammond, he married Clare Welsh, who survives. They moved to Oregon in 1984.

Mr. Fiebelkorn was a teacher, a musician and a carpenter. He also enjoyed cooking.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Richard, Phoenix, Mark, Central Point, and Fred, Medford; four daughters, Jennifer Berry and Cindy Andrews, both Medford, Sherrill Hieber, Munster, Ind., and Gloria Stedman, La Habra, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday in the Ascension Lutheran Church, Medford.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral, Medford.

Diane Mae Casner

The memorial service for Diane Mae Casner will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Yreka, Calif.

Mrs. Casner, 55, of Yreka, died Friday (Feb. 20, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501

She was born Diane Wallace on Aug. 20, 1942, in Emmett, Idaho, and grew up in the Talent/Ashland area.

On Nov. 16, 1963, in Ashland, she married John L. Casner, who died Nov. 3, 1989.

They moved to Yreka in 1970 from Happy Camp, Calif.

Mrs. Casner worked many years at Thrifty Drug and was a cashier for one year at the USA Gas Station.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Mello, Mount Shasta, Calif., and Janet Casner, Yreka; her mother, Ila Savage, Medford; two brothers, Walter Savage, Ashland, and David Savage, Phoenix; a sister, Julie Da Vee, Medford; and four grandchildren. A daughter, Terrie, died in 1975; her father, Jame Wallace in 1968; and a sister, Babe, in 1967.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.

Kim Schoonmaker

The memorial service for Kim Schoonmaker will be at 2 p.m. today in the Salvation Army Church, 304 Beatty St., Medford. Capt. Roone will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Schoonmaker, 42, of Medford, was found dead Tuesday (Feb. 24, 1998) in Medford.

He was born Nov. 18, 1955, in Fresno, Calif.

Mr. Schoonmaker moved to the Rogue Valley in 1994 from the San Francisco Bay area.

On Jan. 31, 1996, in Eagle Point, he married Wendy Poteet, who survives.

Mr. Schoonmaker was a night supervisor for two years at the Salvation Army shelter in Medford.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1981 to 1987.

Mr. Schoonmaker enjoyed helping people.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two stepsons, Matthew Rogers and Joshua Schoonmaker, both Medford; his father and stepmother, Nelson and Lois Schoonmaker, Fresno; his mother, Eleanor Schoonmaker, Fresno; and a brother, Kris, San Jose.

Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives Alder Creek.

Effernetta C. Tracer

The funeral for Effernetta C. Tracer will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Rogue River Assembly of God. Pastor George Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Woodville Cemetery, Rogue River.

Mrs. Tracer, 90, of Rogue River, died Tuesday (Feb. 24, 1998) at the Rogue River home of a niece, Marilyn O'Kelly.

She was born Aug. 20, 1907, in Wimer, a daughter of Willie Francis and Mabel May DeRoboam Owings. She grew up on the family homestead in Wimer.

She attended Pleasant Creek and Pine Grove schools, where she also was a janitor from sixth through eighth grade.

On Jan. 18, 1924, in Jacksonville, she married William Tracer, who preceded her in death. They lived in Wimer.

Mrs. Tracer enjoyed yard sales, flea markets, auctions and gardening.

Survivors include two sons, Harvel "Sonny," Rogue River, and Harold L., Silverdale, Wash.; four daughters, Lucille M. Koger and Lorraine R. Baker, both Rogue River, LueEze C. Jacobs, Crescent City, Calif., and LaDonna M. Phillips, Costa Mesa, Calif.; a sister, Leatta Rice, Klamath Falls; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Luella C. DeRoboam; two brothers, Harvel K. Owings and Woodrow Owings; and a sister, Freda Hatch.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel.

Viola Koutnik Bearg

The memorial service for Viola Koutnik Bearg will be at 4 p.m. today in the Mountain View Baptist Church in Talent. Pastor Fred DeVos will officiate. Private inurnment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.

Mrs. Bearg, 88, of Talent, died Tuesday (Feb. 24, 1998) at her home.

She was born Viola Koutnik on Nov. 1, 1909, in Abie, Neb., where she lived until her final year of school.

She graduated from Schuyler, Neb., High School and was a nurse's aide at the Schuyler Hospital.

On Aug. 9, 1930, in Schuyler, she married Ralph Raymond Bearg, who preceded her in death. They lived in Lincoln, Neb., Sabetha, Kan., before buying a farm near Itasca State Park in Minnesota. They later moved to Van Nuys, Calif.

Mrs. Bearg worked in the exemptions division of the Los Angeles Division of the Assessor's Office.

After retiring in 1962, the Beargs built homes in the hills above Palm Springs, Calif., on Lake Almanor and one in Chester, Calif.

In 1990, the couple moved to Talent to be near their family.

Survivors include a son, Bruce, Talent; two daughters, Patricia Bearg, Talent, and Camilla Stalo, Sedona, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Vivian Ruth Mackay

The memorial service for Vivian Ruth Mackay will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in First Church of the Nazarene, Medford. The Rev. Rick Baumgartner will officiate.

Miss Mackay, 22, of Central Point, died Monday (Feb. 23, 1998) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Cross, 60 Hawthorne Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born June 25, 1975, in Medford.

Miss Mackay worked for Goodwill Industries.

She attended the Worldwide Church of God in Medford.

Miss Mackay was a regular donor at the Red Cross blood bank and enjoyed writing letters to movie stars.

Survivors include her mother, Karen R. Rogers, Clinton, Ark.; two brothers, George Mackay Jr., Central Point, and Greg Mackay, Phoenix; a sister, Renee Mackay, Central Point; grandmothers, Anna Wolf, Phoenix, and Mabel Mackay, Talent; and her grandfather, Arnold Rogers, Clinton. She was preceded in death by her father, George Robert Mackay.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.

Nancy Carol Terry

The funeral for Nancy Carol Terry will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford. Pastor Bob Gass will officiate. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mrs. Terry, 55, of Medford, died Tuesday (Feb. 24, 1998) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Nancy Harper on Jan. 4, 1943, in Portland.

She was a graduate of North Salem High School.

In 1961, in Salem, she married Roland Paulson. They were later divorced.

Mrs. Terry moved to LaGrande in 1974.

On April 6, 1985, in LaGrande, she married Marvin Terry, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1989 from LaGrande.

Mrs. Terry worked at A-1 Answering Service in Medford.

She enjoyed reading, camping, and collecting antiques.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Travis Paulson, LaGrande, and Ryan Paulson, Seattle; two stepdaughters, Katrina Terry, Albuquerque, N.M., and Karisa Terry-Bryan, in Texas; a stepson, Mason Terry, Klamath Falls; a brother, Gordon

Harper, Anchorage, Alaska; and a granddaughter.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Ruel Finch

The memorial service for W. Ruel Finch, a partner in Medply, will be held Saturday in First Presbyterian Church in Montrose, Colo.

Mr. Finch, 94, formerly of Medford, died Friday (Feb. 20, 1998) from pneumonia at Montrose Memorial Hospital. He was living at the San Juan Living Center in Montrose.

He was born Wood Ruel Finch on Oct. 8, 1903, in Oakwood, Texas. Five years later, the family moved to Yuma, Ariz., where he grew up on the family farm.

After graduating from Yuma High School in 1921, he worked for the U.S. Forest Service in the San Jacinto National Forest in Riverside County, Calif., until 1929.

In 1928, in Banning, Calif., he married Floy Hodges, who died in 1951. They moved to Medford in 1929, where he was a mechanic in a Ford garage before becoming a painting contractor.

Mr. Finch moved to Pomona, Calif., where he continued the painting business until returning to Medford in 1937.

During World War II, he was a painting contractor in the construction of Camp White. In 1956 he became a partner in the Medply plywood mill in White City.

In 1952, he married Mildred Grace Neel. After her death in 1997, Mr. Finch moved back to Montrose.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and vegetable gardening, supplying the family and most of his neighbors with produce each year.

Survivors include a daughter, Joy Baird, Montrose; a son, Chuck, Montrose; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Crippen Funeral Home, Montrose.
