Charles Lee Hart
Charles Lee Hart, 81, of Medford, died Monday (Feb. 23, 1998) in Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.
He was born June 20, 1916, in Needles, Calif.
In 1962 in California, he married Minnie Mae Lee, who survives.
Mr. Hart was a manufacturing engineer in electronics in California. He moved to Grants Pass in 1985 from California.
He was a member of the Redwood Christian Church in Grants Pass and the Hope Christian Church in Central Point for many years.
Mr. Hart enjoyed studying his Bible and working with computers.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Sharon Matthewson, Cedar Pines Park, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Darlene Madden, Medford; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Joe Elvin Thomson
Joe Elvin Thomson, 87, of Central Point, died Saturday (Feb. 28, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
He was born in 1910 in DeLeon, Texas, and the family moved to San Diego in 1920.
He grew up on a dairy farm in the Sweetwater Valley area of National City, Calif.
Mr. Thomson served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In 1946, in National City, he married Helen McCormick, who survives.
Mr. Thomson was a drilling contractor in San Diego County, retiring in 1968.
The Thomsons moved to the Rogue Valley in 1980, where the couple volunteered at the Central Point Food Bank.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Al Thomson, Central Point, and Ron McCormick, Sams Valley; three sisters, Verna Mae Thomson, Ruth Thomson and Ida Gean Thomson, all San Diego; and a brother, Eddie, National City. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Cleo, Francis and Margie; and two brothers, Carlos and Cecil.

Lois May Lovejoy
The memorial service for Lois May Lovejoy will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Medford. The Rev. David Close will officiate.
Mrs. Lovejoy, 93, of Medford, died Wednesday (Feb. 25, 1998) at her home.

She was born Lois May Burns on May 15, 1904, on the family's homestead near Paradise in Wallowa County. The family later moved near Albany, where she graduated from high school.
She was the society editor of the Albany Democrat.
On May 3, 1924, at the family home, she married Clifford Omer Lovejoy, who died July 31, 1984.
They moved to Medford in 1936, where they owned and operated Mode O'Day women's dress shops in Northern California and Southern Oregon. During World War II she managed them alone, while Clifford Lovejoy was a colonel in the U.S. Army. They retired in 1968.
Mrs. Lovejoy was one of the founders of the Southern Oregon Historical Society in 1946, served on the American Red Cross Medford Chapter board for two years, then was decorations chairman for nine years.
Long active in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, she was treasurer of the Episcopal Church Women for two years.
In 1963 she purchased the first ticket sold by the Britt Festival for its opening performance and she never missed a year in attending the Oregon Shakespeare Festival plays in Ashland.
She was active in the Republican Party, a charter social member of the Rogue Valley Country Club, a member of Women of Rotary, and the Rogue River Valley Knife and Fork Club.
Survivors include a son, Randall, Ashland; a daughter, Jerrilee Carter, Oracle, Ariz.; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Lacey Senn
The memorial service for Lacey Senn will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Church of the Nazarene, Prospect.
Mrs. Senn, 76, of Prospect, died Saturday (Feb. 28, 1998) at the Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Lacey Cooksey on March 16, 1921, in Jones County, Miss.
On Oct. 3, 1964, in Las Vegas, she married Gerald L. Senn, who survives. They moved to Prospect in 1983 from Los Angeles.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Prospect, and enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Jerry, Medford; three daughters, Oneda Harris, Prospect, Cindy Budreau, Medford, and Faye Bomer, Houston, Texas; a sister, Desiree Roney, Ellisville, Miss.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Patsy Ruth Dunn and Barbara Jean Guthrie, and a brother, James Cooksey, preceded her in death.

Ron L. Lane
Ronan "Ron" Lawrence Lane, 77, of Shady Cove, died Friday (Feb. 27, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.
He was born Jan. 23, 1921, in Eugene.
On March 4, 1949, in Superior, Mont., he married Viola May Titus, who survives.
He was a retired log truck driver, having worked in Oakridge.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a Jehovah's Witness.
Mr. Lane enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five sons, Dan L., Medford, Kevin H. and Mark D., both Roseburg, Stan P., Squaw Valley, Calif., and Ron R., Silverdale, Wash.; a daughter, Geraldine A. Davis, Puyallup, Wash.; two brothers, William, Spokane, Wash., and Jack, Milton-Freewater; five sisters, Katherine Dannevik, San Diego, Calif., Lois Oche, Liberty Lake, Wash., Annabelle Runyun, Potlatck, Idaho, Marion McVicker, Spokane, and Margaret Sills, Deer Park, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Evelyn Harnden, preceded him in death.

William `Bill' Littrell
William "Bill" Littrell, 76, former partner in Littrell Auto Parts, died Sunday (March 1, 1998) at a care facility in Vale. A memorial service will be held later.
He was born July 26, 1921, a son of Elijah and Nellie Lewis of Medford.
Mr. Littrell attended college in Eugene before joining the U.S. Navy in 1942.
After World War II, he was a partner in Littrell Auto Parts in Medford, Grants Pass and Brookings.
On Aug. 8, 1959, in Reno, he married Elizabeth Olson, who survives.
They moved to Lewiston, Idaho, and operated the Royal Motor Inn. They later managed the Tapadera in Walla Walla, Wash. and Lewiston, retiring in 1986 to Florence. They moved to Vale in 1994.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, David, Grants Pass; a daughter, Kathy Fry, Bend; three stepsons, Dick Jackson, Anacortes, Wash., Glen Olson, Corvallis, and Rex Olson, Spokane, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

ElVina Mae Baker
The funeral for ElVina Mae Baker will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brookhurst Ward. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Baker, 82, of Medford, died Saturday (Feb. 28, 1998) at the home of a grandson in Walla Walla, Wash.

She was born ElVina Mae Easley on June 20, 1915, in Simi Valley, Calif.
On Jan. 3, 1934, in Fresno, Calif., she married Elisha Walter Baker II, who died in 1984. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1950 from California.
Mrs. Baker was a certified nurse's aide at Rogue Valley Community Hospital and its successor Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was a custodian for the Mail Tribune, and with her husband, shared a newspaper route in the Applegate area.
Mrs. Baker was a member of the Medford Third Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its Relief Society.
She enjoyed flowers and gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Larry, Talent, and Walt, Weston; a daughter, Lila Ray, Athena; a sister, Lillian Conley, in Texas; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son and two grandchildren.

Chris Thompson
The memorial service for Chris Thompson will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Crystal's Family Restaurant, formerly Apple Annie's, at 900 Alba Drive, Medford. Jay Johnson will lead the service.
Mr. Thompson, 42, of Prospect, died Sunday (Feb. 22, 1998) near his Prospect home.
A sky-diver foreman, Mr. Thompson traveled with Butler Amusement carnivals.
He moved to the Rogue Valley several years ago and worked for Crystal's Family Restaurant.
Survivors include his companion, Jeni Ghirardo, Prospect.
