Conrad W. Langstaff

The memorial service for Conrad William Langstaff will be at 1 p.m. Monday a St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Medford. Pastor Charles Symmank will officiate.

Mr. Langstaff, 80, of Medford, died Thursday (March 26, 1998) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

He was born Jan. 4, 1918, in Chicago.

On Sept. 1, 1941, in Chicago, he married Shirley Korterud, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley 12 years ago from Oakland, Calif.

Mr. Langstaff was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and the Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge.

He was an avid reader, including the Bible.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Glen, Suisun, Calif., and Jeffery, Harrison, Ark.; a daughter, Laura Macgregor, Chester, Calif.; a brother, Robert; and two grandchildren.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary.

Emogene M. Abbott

The funeral for Emogene M. Abbott will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Butte Falls Community Bible Church. Interment will follow in Butte Falls Cemetery. Pastor John Adams will officiate.

Mrs. Abbott, 83, of Butte Falls, died Friday (March 27, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Butte Falls High School Abbott Memorial Scholarship Fund, 625 Fir St., Butte Falls, OR 97522.

She was born July 15, 1914, in Derby. On Aug. 12, 1933, in Medford, she married Elga W. Abbott, who survives.

She was a member of the Butte Falls Community Bible Church for 62 years, Butte Falls Grange, Butte Falls Garden Club, and Rogue Valley Orchid Society.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Beth Hartlerode, Central Point; a son, Raymond, Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A son, Warren, died in 1936.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral.

Beverly Ann Buck

The memorial service for Beverly Ann Buck will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in First Church of the Nazarene, Medford. Pastor Craig Rench will officiate. Private interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Mrs. Buck, 58, of Medford, died Thursday (March 26, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, Northwest Nazarene College Scholarship, 1974 E. McAndrews Road, Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Dec. 28, 1939, in Hardin, Mont.

On Nov. 17, 1958, in Denver, she married Ray R. Buck, who survives. They moved Medford 22 years ago from Clancy, Mont.

An avid gardener, Mrs. Buck also enjoyed camping, oil painting, and reading. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Allen, Eagle Point, and Wayne, Medford; a daughter, Cheryl Tursa, Rainier; her parents, Melvin and Freda Peterson, Medford; a sister, Evelyn Gorman, Whitefish, Mont.; and seven grandchildren.

Darlene M. McNealy

Darlene M. McNealy, 75, of Medford, died Tuesday (March 24, 1998) at Three Fountain Nursing Center. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Three Fountains Nursing Center, 835 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Darlene Metcalf on Feb. 28, 1923, in Dayton, Yamhill County. She lived in Ridgway, Colo., until returning to Oregon in 1972. In 1980 she moved to Medford from Gold Beach.

During World War II she was a pharmacist's mate third class in the U.S. Navy. After becoming a registered nurse she worked in Colorado, Coos Bay and Gold Beach.

After retiring she worked for the Southern Oregon Humane Society for six years.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and walking.

Survivors include a son, James H. McNealy 5th, Sacramento, Calif.; and a sister, Crystal Bullard, Tacoma, Wash.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Wannabe Middaugh

The graveside memorial service for Wannabe Middaugh will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Maj. Gary McKenzie, a nephew, will officiate.

Mrs. Middaugh, 77, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (March 26, 1998) at Royale Garden Health and Rehabilitation Center, Grants Pass.

She was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Post, Texas.

In Las Vegas, she married Uel Gene Middaugh, who preceded her in death. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1992 from Yucaipa, Calif.

Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Hopp, Grants Pass; two brothers, James Pruitt, Hemet, Calif., and Robert Pruitt, Etiwanda, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A son, Gary, died in 1981.

Audrey K. Walker

The memorial service for Audrey K. Walker will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hillcrest Chapel, Medford. Pastor Pete Slusher of the Community Bible Church will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Walker, 85, of Central Point, died Wednesday (March 25, 1998) at her home.

She was born Audrey Martin on Nov. 27, 1912, in Klamath Falls, a descendant of Robert E. Lee.

On July 3, 1929, in Medford, she married Wilbur Walker, who survives.

Mrs. Walker worked at the Rogue River Pear packinghouse for 20 years.

She and her husband enjoyed hunting and fishing together. She also enjoyed sewing.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Gloria Hinderer, Central Point, and Delores Wolf, John Day; a son, Charles L., Eagle Point; a sister, Francis Lucas, Chicago; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Monte; four sisters, Esther Walden, Nell Provolt, Mable Hadrick, and Valera Martin; five brothers, Robert, William, Roy, Fred, and Levi Martin; and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today at Hillcrest Chapel.

Doris Wray Grim

Doris Wray Grim, 86, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday (March 24, 1998) at Fair View Transitional Health Care. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, P.O. Box 356, Grants Pass, OR 97526.

She was born Oct. 8, 1911, in Rogue River, in what is now the historic Sandry House. Her parents were Samuel and Hennrietta Sandry.

On Dec. 27, 1933, in Rogue River, she married Willard "Doc" Grim, who died in August 1995.

Mrs. Grim enjoyed golfing, bowling, and traveling.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Lillian V. Hillen

Lillian M. Vandervelden Hillen, 71, formerly of Medford, died Friday (March 20, 1998) in San Antonio, Texas, while visiting her daughter. Her home was in Vancouver, Wash.

No service is planned.

She was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Vancouver, and graduated from Vancouver High School in 1944.

Mrs. Hillen attended Washington State College.

She lived in Medford from the early 1970s to 1980, when she moved to Indio, Calif. She returned to Vancouver 10 years ago.

Mrs. Hillen was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, and the Northwest Watercolor Association.

Survivors include her husband, Victor Hillen; a son, Jeffrey Vandervelden, Eugene; a daughter, Jill Vandervelden, San Antonio; two stepdaughters, Marylou O'Neil, San Diego, Calif., and Gail Holt, Spokane, Wash.; two stepsons, Arthur Hillen, Windsor, Ontario, and Steven Hillen, Long Island, N.Y.; two sisters, Shirley Knight and Eileen O'Neil; a brother, Kenneth Arbour; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Don Vandervelden; and a son, Bruce.

Patricia Holdeman

Mass will be celebrated for Patricia Anne Holdeman on Monday at St. Veronica's Catholic Church, South San Francisco, Calif.

Mrs. Holdeman, 49, of Eagle Point, died Wednesday (March 25, 1998) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501 or Providence Community Health Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born March 17, 1949, in South San Francisco.

Mrs. Holdeman moved to the Rogue Valley in 1988 from Oakdale, Calif.

On Aug. 21, 1991, in Central Point, she married Timothy Holdeman, who survives.

Mrs. Holdeman worked for Erickson Air-Crane, Western Pneumatics, and Rogue Community College Extension Center.

She was a member of St. Veronica's Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, boating, and camping.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Tyson Massey, Phoenix, Ariz.; a stepson, Billy Ray Holdeman, Sams Valley; a stepdaughter, Wendy Marie Holdeman, Sams Valley; her mother, Laura Martinez, South San Francisco; a sister, Gerry Smith, Sams Valley; and three brothers, Jim, Jack and Marty Martinez, all Peninsula, Calif. She was preceded in death by her father, James Martinez.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.
