Jerry Leon Adams
The memorial service for Jerry Leon Adams, formerly of Medford, will be at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church in Coos Bay. The Rev. Champ Singleterry will officiate.
Mr. Adams, 63, of Coos Bay, died Saturday (March 28, 1998) in Coos Bay.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jerry Adams Scholarship Fund for Junior Golfers, Coos Country Club, 999 Coos City-Sumner Road, Coos Bay, OR 97420.
He was born Nov. 1, 1934, in Stonington, Colo., the son of Wesley and Doris Adams.
He was a graduate of Medford High School and attended Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army.
On June 28, 1980, in Reno, he married LeeAnna Wedwick, who survives.
He worked for Archway Cookie Co. and Williams Bakery for 22 years, receiving awards as top salesman. Persons on his route in Oregon and Northern California called him "Smiley Jerry" or "Mr. Wonderful."
He was a member of the Coos Country Club, and the Eagles and Elks lodges. He also enjoyed golfing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Jerilyn DePriest, Medford, Rhonda Mendoza, Sacramento, Calif., and Raedean Rhodes, Enterprise; his mother, Doris Hunemiller, Medford; a sister, Linda Olson, Medford; two stepsons, Keith Wedwick, oos Bay, and Kerry Wedwick, Spokane, Wash.; four stepdaughters, Jana Beaudry, Coos Bay, Jill Grover, Spokane, Jodi Skidmore, Tigard, and Julie Churchill, Beaverton; his former wife, Carolyn Calhoun, Joseph; and 18 grandchildren.

Bud Aldredge
The memorial service for Pleasant "Bud" Aldredge, 97, of Medford, will be held later. He died Sunday (March 29, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Mr. Aldredge was born June 13, 1900, in Sedalia, Mo. The family moved to Southern Oregon in 1901 and to Medford in 1942.
He worked for several Rogue Valley businesses including Morton Feed and Seed. For 10 years he was bailiff for courts in Jackson County, retiring in 1975.
On Dec. 9, 1985, in Reno, he married Edna Behr, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Aldredge was a member of the Redman Lodge for more than 50 years, Medford Senior Center, and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Bob, in Florida; a stepson, Jeff Davis, Talent; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Behr, Medford, and Hazel George, Canby; and a granddaughter.

Steve Wayne Hurd
The memorial service for Steve Wayne Hurd will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rogue Valley Christian Fellowship, 2372 S. Pacific Highway, Medford. Pastor Jay Wolfman will officiate.
Mr. Hurd, 42, of White City, died Friday (March 27, 1998) at his home.
He was born Nov. 13, 1955, in Ashland.
On Feb. 14, 1992, in Gold Hill, he married Nila Amos, who survives.
Mr. Hurd worked at Jessup Millwork Co. in White City.
He was a member of the Rogue Valley Christian Fellowship and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and drawing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Jasper Liles, White City; a daughter, Jennifer Liles, White City; five brothers, Gary, White City, Robert, Talent, Clay, Phoenix, David, Yreka, Calif., and Charles, in Arkansas; and a sister, Naomi Kensler, in Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Pauline Hurd.

Richard F. Heitz
The memorial service for Richard F. Heitz will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. The Rev. John Scholz, interim pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Medford, will officiate. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Heitz, 72, of Talent, died Saturday (March 28, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 4, 1925, in St. Joseph, Kan.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army 776th Field Artillery Battalion.
On July 21, 1949, in Pocatello, Idaho, he married Barbara Williams, who survives.
Mr. Heitz, a long-haul truck driver, logged 1 million accident-free miles. He moved to Talent after his retirement.
For two years he was manager of the Candlewood Mobil Home Park and most recently was assistant manager.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Julie Wagner, Stevensville, Mont.; a son, Richard "Dick" L., South Windsor, Conn.; a sister, Bernetta Bybee, Medford; a brother, Alfred, Mesa, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.

Bertha Stone
Bertha Stone, 81, Rogue River, died Saturday (March 28, 1998) at her home. No service is planned.
She was born Bertha Berghorst on May 23, 1916, in Hull, Iowa.
She was married to Jay D. Stone, who died in April 1980.
Before moving to Rogue River in 1984, Mrs. Stone owned and operated two stores, Vitarama and Hemet Health Foods in California.
A dedicated gardener, she also enjoyed painting and birds.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Hefner, Rogue River; three sons, Charles Delmer Brink, Grants Pass, James Frank Brink, Rogue River, and Danny Stone, Fall City, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; and her former husband, Paul Leger, Rogue River.

Mildred M. Royer
Mildred M. Royer, 75, of Central Point, died Wednesday (March 29, 1998) at the Heritage in Medford. A private service is planned. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
She was born Mildred Reem on June 10, 1922, in Elizabethtown, Pa.
On June 21, 1941, in Elizabethtown, she married Earl Royer, who died Oct. 23, 1992. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1973.
Mrs. Royer enjoyed bingo.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Brush, Central Point, and Deborah Reyes, Medford; two sons, David, Central Point, and Jeffrey, Troutdale; a brother, William Reem, Elizabethtown; two sisters, Elenor Coble, Elizabethtown, and Edith Seifert, in Indiana; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Robert Dale Reem.

Ross D. Plankenhorn
Ross D. Plankenhorn, 83, of Medford, died Saturday (March 28, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. The memorial service was held Monday in the Rogue Valley Adventist School Chapel, Medford. Pastor Henry Zollbrecht officiated.
He was born Dec. 14, 1914, in Garden City, Kan.
On May 10, 1935, he married Dorene G. Day, who survives.
Mr. Plankenhorn, a master craftsman, did custom home construction and remodeling prior to retiring.
He was instrumental in the remodeling of Valley View Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where he was a member.
Mr. Plankenhorn also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Ronald R. and Jeffrey R., both Medford; a daughter, Laurena F. Scott, Grants Pass; a brother, Herbert "Bud," Medford; two sisters, Pauline Hapes, Medford, and Charlene Holmes, Sutherlin; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.

Phillip `Bud' Reynolds
The memorial service for Phillip G. "Bud" Reynolds will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Presbyterian Church of Ashland. The Rev. Scott Dalgano will officiate.
Mr. Reynolds, 75, of Ashland, died Thursday (March 26, 1998) in Klamath Falls.

He was born Oct. 13, 1922, in Sentinel, Okla.
On June 27, 1948, in Ashland, he married Marynell Montgomery, who survives.
Mr. Reynolds retired in 1985 from a career in tree trimming.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Immanuel Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and ocean fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Phillip Jr., Chiloquin, and Jonathan W., Hollywood, Md.; a daughter, Shannon Row, Klamath Falls; a brother, Roy, Central Point; two sisters, Bernice Stovall, Medford, and Peggy VanPelt, Klamath Falls; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by three sisters.
