Beulah Atkinson
Beulah Mary Atkinson, 83, of Medford, died Thursday (April 2, 1998) at her home.
She was born Beulah Mary MacKay on March 9, 1915 in Denver, Colorado. On May 31, 1932 in Medford, she married Leonard R. Atkinson.
Mrs. Atkinson was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing projects and growing flowers. She also participated in the Order of the Eastern Star and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Survivors include five sons, Scott Atkinson, Monte Atkinson, Robert Atkinson, and Donald Atkinson, all of Medford, and Loren Atkinson, Orville, Calif; a daughter Sue Ellen York, also of Orville, 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A daughter, Sharon, died in 1937. Mr. Atkinson died in November 1992.
Harold Frye
A private graveside service has been held for Harold A. Frye Jr., 85, of Medford, who died Wednesday (April 1, 1998) at Medford Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
He was buried at Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. Emmitt Shortread of First United Methodist Church officiated.
He was born Oct. 20, 1912, in Dubuque, Iowa. He had been a resident of the Rogue Valley for 68 years, moving from Australia. He married Belle Deikman in Medford in 1968; she died in 1985.
He was in the Army during World War II in 1942 and 1943. He was a self-employed landscaper in the Rogue Valley for 30 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bellview Grange in Ashland, and homing pigeon club in
Ashland. He enjoyed fishing, dancing and playing the guitar.
He is survived by a sister, Roxanna Tomlin of Medford; a stepson, Dale Deikman; a stepdaughter, Maxine Deikman, and five grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in Mr. Frye's memory.

Vera Lois McCay
The graveside service for Vera Lois McCay will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford. Stan Johnson, minister of the West Main Church of Christ, will officiate.
Mrs. McCay, 84, of Central Point, died Monday (March 30, 1998) at her home.
She was born Vera Hood on March 9, 1914, in Midvale, Idaho, and the family moved to the Rogue Valley nine years later.
On June 29, 1935, in Medford, she married Loyal D. McCay, who died in June 1995.
Mrs. McCay was a member of the West Main Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, the Dixieland Jazz Festivals, yearly family reunions, and traveling.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen A. Greb, Eagle Point, Pamela S. Johnson, Central Point, and Donna L. McCall, Banks; a son, Dale A., Jacksonville; three sisters, Lola Mercer, Grants Pass, Wilma McGraw, Medford, and Wanda Bryant, Chula Vista, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Orville, Kenneth, Melford and Elton Hood; and four sisters, Violet Linder, Zora Dubs-Linder, Beulah Walker and Alta Kelly.

Frances E. Doerner
The memorial service for Frances Elizabeth Doerner will be held in Jamesburg, N.J.
Mrs. Doerner, 79, of Central Point, died Sunday (March 29, 1998) at her home.
She was born April 22, 1918, in Dover, N.J.
On Dec. 31, 1954, in New Brunswick, N.J., she married Edward G. Doerner, who survives. They moved to Oregon in 1987 from California.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a sister, Saddie Hovey, Parsipanny, N.J. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Hardy; and two sisters, Evelyn Petersen and Loretta Phillips.

Donald Andrew Pollock
Donald Andrew Pollock, 69, of Medford, died Tuesday (March 31, 1998) at his home. A private service is planned.

He was born May 7, 1928, in Vancouver, B.C.
Mr. Pollock graduated from Penticton High School in 1946.
On Aug. 17, 1946, in Penticton, B.C., he married his high school sweetheart, Reta Hockley, who survives.
In 1957, they moved to Eureka, Calif., where he was a graphic sign designer for Eureka Neon. After moving to Medford in 1972, he was the neon sign designer for Medford Neon until retiring in 1991.
Mr. Pollock was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Medford Moose Lodge and Cedar Links Golf Club. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, painting, and model trains.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Sherry Price, Vicky Flora and Lori Pollock, all Medford; three sons, Wayne and Bob, both Medford, and Don, Eureka, Calif.; two brothers, Bill, Penticton, and Brian, Queensland, Australia; six grandchildren;
a stepgrandson; and a great-grandson.

Barbara Huntington
The memorial service for Barbara Jean Huntington will be at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Gold Hill Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Mrs. Huntington, 62, of White City, died Wednesday (March 25, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 20, 1935, in Medford, a daughter of Glenn and Audrey Burch.
On Jan. 27, 1979, in Portland, she married Edward Huntington Jr., who preceded her in death.
She loved horses and her writings included "Saga of the American Quarter Horse." She also was involved with alternative medicine.
Mrs. Huntington was baptized a Jehovah's Witness in 1957.
Survivors include a son, Alan Rocky Muse, Klamath Falls; a stepdaughter, Iris Muse, in Idaho; and 12 siblings. She was preceded in death by a son and a stepson.

Perry Formolo
The funeral Mass for Perry Formolo will be celebrated for at 1 p.m. today in Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, Ashland. The Rev. Anthony Rosevear will officiate. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland.
Mr. Formolo, 79, of Medford, died Monday (March 30, 1998) at his home.
He was born April 20, 1918, in Iron Mountain, Mich.
On Nov. 4, 1944, in Villa Park, Ill., he married Esther Marsh Kinney, who died June 26, 1986.
In 1951, they moved from Illinois to California, where Mr. Formolo worked a short time at Disneyland designing the Matterhorn bobsleds, the submarine and Dumbo rides, and the Jungle Cruise animals.
Mr. Formolo then was an aerospace engineer for North American Rockwell. After his retirement in 1975, he moved to Ashland from Anaheim, Calif.
On Sept. 8, 1990, in Ashland, he married Magaly del Rio Anderson, who survives.
A member of Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, he sang in the church choir for 24 years, belonged to the Legion of Mary, Holy Family Retreat Association, and the Dominical Laity.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
As a young man he played trumpet, retiring that instrument for the piano, playing by ear.
He enjoyed painting, fishing and cooking.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include seven daughters, Caroline Hernandez, Medford, Karen Reed, Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Jill Manfre, Santa Ana, Calif., Ruthanne Ward, Laguna Beach, Calif., Mary E. Feld, Bellevue, Wash., Eugenia Grieger, Redmond, Wash., and Julie Warth, Lake Stevens, Wash.; seven brothers; two sisters; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Lilly E. Buss
Lilly E. Buss, 90, of Medford, died Saturday (March 28, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Private services will be held.

She was born Lilly Ernestine Kollath on June 30, 1907, in Stanton, Neb. She grew up in Stanton and Norfolk and moved to Omaha in 1926.
On April 18, 1827, in Omaha, she married Harold Buss, who died in 1987.
She moved to California in 1981 and to Medford in 1993.
She had been a member of First Lutheran Church of Omaha, then was a member of Templeton, Calif., Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and playing bridge.
Survivors include a son, Dwight Buss, Gold Hill; a daughter, Dr. Mardell Buss, Omaha; a grandson; and a great-grandson. Seven brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Edith B. Dugnolle
The service for Edith Blanche Dugnolle will be held in Chicago with interment in North Shore Memorial Garden in North Chicago.
Mrs. Dugnolle, 91, of White City, died Sunday (March 29, 1998).
She was born Edith Blanche Avis on March 31, 1906, in Battersea, London, England.
For many years Mrs. Dugnolle was office manager for the Redlands, Calif., Community Hospital. She retired in 1975 and moved to the Rogue Valley in 1978 from Redlands.
Mrs. Dugnolle was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Eagle Point.
Survivors include two sons, Charles E., Fiji Island, and Stanley G., Pique, Ohio; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Her husband, Charles B., preceded her in death.
