Edo `Bart' Bartolomei
The memorial service for Edo "Bart" Bartolomei will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Masonic Temple, 975 N. Phoenix Road, Medford. Members of the Masonic Lodge will officiate.
Mr. Bartolomei, 83, of Medford, died Monday (April 13, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born June 29, 1914, in Korbel, Calif., and grew up in Santa Rosa, Calif.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army, 345th Engineers Battalion.
On Jan. 12, 1963, in Portland, he married Gretchen S. Groth, who survives.
Mr. Bartolomei was a Greyhound Bus driver for 32 years, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Medford Social Benefit Club, Medford Masonic Lodge, Reames Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Medford Valley Scottish Rite, Hillah Temple Shrine, and the Medford Moose Lodge. He was responsible for initiating the Eugene Masonic Lodge.
He enjoyed ballroom dancing and gardening.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Janet Blank, Gold Hill; two stepdaughters, Sidney Wray and Lisa Hayes, both Phoenix, Ariz.; a stepson, Bruce Erickson, Pesotum, Ill.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

E. June Sanders
The memorial service for E. June Sanders, formerly of Medford, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Waud's Funeral Home in Tillamook.
Mrs. Saunders, 63, of Pacific City, died Monday (April 6, 1998) at her home.

She was born E. June Schulmerich on June 1, 1934, in Hillsboro. She attended schools in Portland and Seaside then graduated from Nestucca High School in Cloverdale.
After high school she married Merle Kellow. They were later divorced.
In June 1972, she married William F. "Skip" Sanders Jr. During the 1980s, they owned the Paradis Transfer Co. in Medford and the Brownsboro Tavern. After moving to Charleston they owned the Inland Wharf Restaurant. They were later divorced.
She was manager of the Medford Elks Lodge for several years.
She moved to the Pacific City area in 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Lorraine Kellow, Portland, and Karen O'Connell, Los Angeles; two sons, Wesley and Ron Kellow, both Cloverdale; her father and stepmother, Loren "Pink" and Virginia Schulmerich, Tillamook; a brother, William Schulmerich, Springfield, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.

Curtis E. Alberts
The graveside service for Curtis E. Alberts will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Cemetery, Yreka, Calif. Pastor Rick Cohen of the Applegate Christian Fellowship will officiate.
Mr. Alberts, 79, of Yreka, died Saturday (April 11, 1998) in Central Point.

He was born Aug. 10, 1918, in Saronville, Neb.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany.
Mr. Alberts worked for Pacific Light & Power for more than 30 years, retiring in 1981.
Mr. Alberts was a member of the Masons Howard Lodge and a Shriner. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include three daughters, Becky Wojack, Central Point, Kathy Stanford, Kingman, Ariz., and Ruth Vallo, Hughson, Calif.; a son, David, Tacoma, Wash.; two brothers, Mark, C., Cedar Creek, Texas, and Richard, in Nebraska; two sisters, Mary Hohlen and Maxine Stimbert, both Hastings, Neb.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his four children, Hazel Simpson Alberts, in 1973; his third wife, Juanita, in 1992; and two sisters, Selma Stiener and Doris Thaut.

Dick R. Courier
Richard "Dick" R. Courier, 83, of Central Point, died Saturday (April 11, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center. A private service is planned. Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.
He was born April 29, 1914, in Long Island, N.Y.
During World War II, he was a sergeant in the U.S. Army in Italy, Morocco and the Rhineland. He was attached to the French Colonial troops and the French 2nd Army in the artillery and armored divisions.
He moved to Medford in 1952 from California.
On July 4, 1953, in Medford, he married Dorothy Haselton, who survives.
Mr. Courier worked for Boise Cascade, Red Blanket, Alley's, and Steve Wilson Logging.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed woodworking, stamp collecting, and anything mechanical.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Herbert R., White City, Richard F., Medford, and David A., Seattle; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Alex Joe Lopez
The chapel service for Alex Joe Lopez will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford. The Rev. Kelly Vandehey of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford, will officiate.
Mr. Lopez, 79, of Central Point, died Friday (April 10, 1998) at the Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

He was born March 19, 1919, in Albuquerque, N.M.
He married Alice May Myrick in Winnemucca, Nev., and again in Reno, Nev. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Lopez moved to the Rogue Valley 31 years ago from Gilroy, Calif.
He was a farmer in Eaton, Colo., and was a farmer and mill worker in Southern and Eastern Oregon. He also had worked in a Southern California shipyard.
Mr. Lopez was a member of Old Time Fiddlers, the National Rifle Association and the Oregon Hunters Association. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include four daughters, Rachel I. Strawn, Central Point, Alice M. Fleming, Hopkinsville, Ky., and Josie Delorenzo and Theresa Ortega, both San Jose, Calif.; a son, Charles Myrick, Florence; three brothers, Bobby, Fort Collins, Colo., Pete, Compton, Calif., and Johnny, Eaton; two sisters, Isabelle Myrick, Medford, and Patricia Guiterrez, Greeley, Colo.; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Lou Martinez and Cecelia "Sam" Sanchez; a son, Alex Joe Jr.; three sisters, Hope Gregory, Mary Espinosa and Rachel Chevas; and two brothers, Frank and Junior.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Roy E. Goldman
The memorial service for Roy Edward Goldman will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Cornerstone Christian Church, 608 N. Bartlett St., Medford. David Burns will officiate.
Mr. Goldman, 75, formerly of Phoenix, died Thursday (March 19, 1998) in St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. His winter home was in Brenda, Ariz.
He was born April 2, 1922, in Crane, Mo.
The family moved to Roseburg from Arkansas in 1939, joining other family members.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the European Theater.
On Aug. 18, 1947, in Portland, he married Audrey Nadine Bates, who survives.
They lived in northern Oregon and Washington until moving to the Rogue Valley in 1960. A timber faller for 41 years, Mr. Goldman retired in 1984.
Following their retirement, the couple spent winters in Brenda, and summers at Hyatt Lake.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and riding four-wheel all-terrain vehicles.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Nena N. Akins, Medford; two sons, Royce E., Talent, and Ervin L., Canby; a brother, James E., Hercules, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.

Katie Zvonek
Mass for Katie Zvonek will be celebrate at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford. The Revs. Mark Cach and Carmelo Mifsud will officiate. Interment will be in Desert View Memorial Park, Hesperia, Calif.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou Chapel.
Mrs. Zvonek, 93, of Medford, died Saturday (April 11, 1998) at a foster home.

She was born Katherine Elizabeth Taranto on March 16, 1905, in Little Rock, Ark. The family lived in several parts of the U.S. before moving to Los Angeles.
On Sept. 4, 1927, in Los Angeles, she married Frank B. Zvonek, who preceded her in death. She moved to Medford in 1985.
Mrs. Zvonek was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In her earlier years, she was a volunteer for Loaves and Fishes. She enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include three daughters, Camillia Pagnini, Jacksonville, Rose Reed, Palm Desert, Calif., and Mary Zvonek, Costa Mesa, Calif.; a son, Joseph, Salt Lake City; 19 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. A son, Frankie, preceded her in death.

Violet L. Usilton
The funeral for Violet L. Usilton will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Perl Funeral Service-Siskiyou Chapel. Interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mrs. Usilton, 92, formerly of Medford, died Thursday (April 9, 1998) in the Valley View Nursing Home in Lancaster, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund, 1400 Concordia Drive, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
She was born Violet Krahn on April 4, 1906, in Prairie du Chien, Wis.
She moved to Medford in 1984 and to Lancaster, in 1987. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. After moving to Lancaster, she was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she was a member of its sewing circle and ladies aid.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Richard E., Lancaster; a sister, Bernice Schultz, Madison, Wis.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A son, Robert, and three brothers, Glenn, Wilbur, and Bernard Krahn, preceded her in death.
