Daniel Raymond Boyer
The funeral for Daniel Raymond Boyer will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Los Angeles. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City, Calif.
Mr. Boyer, 82, of Merlin, died Saturday (April 18, 1998) in Medford.

He was born June 9, 1915, in Hibbing, Minn.
As a child he built his own ice boat.
On Nov. 21, 1941, in Rockford, Ill., he married Lois Jean Heckerman, who preceded him in death.
In the 1940s, he worked on the steamer Nenana in Alaska and built a cabin there. He was a seaman on the Great Lakes and later a millwright mechanic for 26 years with Rockwell International.
Mr. Boyer moved to the Rogue Valley 17 years ago from Los Angeles.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, prospecting, and had a keen interest in space technology.
Survivors include three sons, Cyrus F., Merlin, Mark Daniel, Torrance, Calif., and Patrick Raymond, Gardena, Calif.; a brother, Roy Carlson, Chisholm, Minn.; a sister, Doris Effinger, Sumner, Wash.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kurt Joseph; and two brothers, Patrick Boyer and Ray Carlson.

David D. Carr
The graveside service for David D. Carr will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Phoenix Cemetery. Stan Johnson will officiate.
Mr. Carr, 59, of Medford, died Monday (April 21, 1998) at his home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
He was born Jan. 25, 1939, in Medford, a son of Lester and Ethel Alford Carr.
He graduated from Phoenix High School.
On March 15, 1963, in Medford, he married Linda Nease, who survives.
He was a truck driver for many years with G.H. Foster Wholesale. At the time of his death, he worked for Crescent Truck Lines.
Mr. Carr enjoyed farming and was owner/operator of the D & L Acres, U-pick apricot orchard.
He also enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Brian and Jeff, both Central Point; and two brothers, George and Robert, both Phoenix.

Robert A. Davis
Robert A. Davis, 81, of Phoenix, died Wednesday (April 22, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

He was born March 13, 1917, in Randolph, N.Y.
As a young man, he was employed with Piper Aircraft and Bell Aircraft. After moving to California, he worked at Hughes Aircraft. Later he was with GTE Sylvania in Mountain View, Calif.
Upon retirement, he and his wife, Ruth, moved to Corning, Calif. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1988.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Mr. Davis was a member of the Ashland Elks Lodge and the Niagara Frontier Masonic Lodge in New York. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, and watching sports.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Robert Jr., Westlake Village, Calif.; a daughter, Becki Canales, Ontario, Calif.; a stepson, Allen Meldrum, Ovido, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Marjorie Seiler, Rebuck, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Summer Ann Frost
The memorial service for Summer Ann Frost will be at noon Saturday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Medford Stake Center, 2900 Juanipero Way. Bishop Kent Granat of the Medford Fifth Ward will officiate.
Ms. Frost, 21, of Medford, died Saturday (April 18, 1998) in Medford.
She was born April 10, 1977, in Yreka, Calif. The family moved to the Rogue Valley in 1982.
Ms. Frost attended Eagle Point High School.
She worked at the Medford Depot restaurant.
An artist and a poet, she also was a member of the LDS church.
Survivors include a son, Reuben Haeden; her father, Richard Coffman, White City; her mother, Debrah Frost, Scotts Valley, Calif.; a sister, Fawn Stone, Central Point; and grandparents, Al Frost, Yreka, and Ellene Hudson, Greenview, Calif.

Donna Kuenniger Torres
Donna Sibyl Jane Kuenniger Torres, 35, formerly of Gold Hill, died Sunday (April 5, 1998) at her home in Seattle.
Services were held in Seattle with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery there.
She was born Donna Kuenniger on Nov. 19, 1962, in Grants Pass. She attended school in Selma, Cave Junction, Gold Hill and Central Point, having moved to Gold Hill in 1976.
Before moving to Seattle several years ago, she lived in Medford where she worked for the Job Council doing payroll for Jackson and Josephine counties.
At the time of her death, Mrs. Torres was manager of the Texaco Mini Mart in Bellevue, Wash., and worked at the Fleming Home for the Elderly in Seattle.
She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
Survivors include her husband, Armando Torres, Seattle; three sons, William Arias, Gold Hill, and Marco Arias and Eric Arias, both Seattle; three daughters, Angel Arias, Gold Hill, and Alicia Torres and Patricia Torres, both Seattle; her mother, Joan Paquette-Kuenniger, also known as Joanie Ryan, Gold Hill; a sister, Marilyn Alvarez, Central Point; and two brothers, Bill Kuenniger and Steve Kuenniger, both Gold Hill. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Kuenniger.

Albert G. Denney
The funeral for Albert G. Denney will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Harvest Baptist Temple, Medford. Pastor Bob Gass will officiate. Interment will be in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Denney, 76, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday (April 21, 1998) at his home.
He was born July 19, 1921, in Ryan, Okla.
On June 5, 1968, in Vacaville, Calif., he married Minnie J. Fike, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1996 from Brookings.
Mr. Denney was a firefighter for the California Division of Forestry from 1948 until retiring in 1975.
During World War II, he was a machinist's mate first class in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Denney enjoyed fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Stephen Clay, Medford, Lancy Clay, Central Point, and Richard Clay, Paso Robles, Calif.; a daughter, Cynthia Hauser, Penn Valley, Calif.; two brothers, Marshall, in Texas, and John, in Southern California; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Perl Funeral Services, Siskiyou Chapel.
Harold Monroe Thorne
The memorial service for Harold Monroe Thorne will be held today at the Rogue Valley Manor. For the service time, call the Manor. Interment will be in Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach, Calif.
Mr. Thorne, 97, of Medford, died Tuesday (April 21, 1998) at the Rogue Valley Manor Health Center.
He was born Jan. 21, 1901, in Waukomis, Oklahoma Territory.
On May 17, 1927, in Bartlesville, Okla., he married Ruth Marie Plew, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley 15 years ago from San Clemente, Calif.
Mr. Thorne graduated from the University of Oklahoma.
He was with the U.S. Bureau of Mines as a research engineer in Oklahoma and Colorado before serving as director of the Laramie, Wyo., Petroleum Research Center. At the time of his retirement, he was considered the foremost authority on oil shales research.
In 1946, he was sent by the U.S. State Department as a member of the technical staff of a team studying reparations problems in Manchuria and Korea.
Mr. Thorne was a member of the American Chemical Society, American Petroleum Institution, and Sigma Xi, national scientific fraternity. A 30-year Rotarian, he served as president of the Laramie club.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Robert D., Walnut Creek, Calif., and Gordon H., Gillette, Wyo.; 12 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles E.; and two grandchildren.

Donovan H. Rupe
Donovan H. Rupe, 79, of White City, died Wednesday (April 15, 1998) at the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary. A memorial service was held.
He was born July 3, 1918, in Willits, Calif.
Mr. Rupe lived in California for many years, where he was a lab technician at Howard Memorial Hospital.
He moved to Oregon 15 years ago.
Mr. Rupe enjoyed playing guitar and singing.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Sullivan, Ukiah, Calif., Leah Tupper, Fort Bragg, Calif., and Judy Boothe, Sunbrook, N.H.; a sister, Marjorie Shelby, Grass Valley, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
