Wilma Ella King

The funeral for Wilma Ella King will be at 10 a.m. today in the Conger-Morris Medford Chapel. Pastor Kay "Katie" Lee of Faith Bible Center will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Coos Bay.

Mrs. King, 97, of Medford, died Sunday (May 17, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Wilma Leibee on May 6, 1901, in Sterling, Colo.

On Dec. 9, 1940, in Columbus, Kan., she married Gerald King, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. King was a home missionary for 17 years in Tulsa, Okla.

She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1989 from Albany.

Mrs. King was a member of Faith Bible Center in Medford.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Gregory, Medford; a sister, Edna Groh, Greeley, Colo.; eight granchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, and two brothers.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

M. Lee Sprang

The graveside service for M. Lee Sprang will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Paul Robinson of the Medford Congregational United Church will officiate.

Mr. Sprang, 78, of Medford, died Sunday (May 17, 1998) at his home.

He was born June 8, 1919, in Willow Lake, S.D.

After graduating from airplane mechanics school in Louisiana, Mr. Sprang was commissioned an officer in the Army Air Corps, serving during World War II.

On Aug. 29, 1948, in Quartzsite, Ariz., he married Claudine Barough, who survives.

They moved to Oregon in 1966 from Kanab, Utah, where he was active in community affairs.

Mr. Sprang retired as plant superintendent for Oregon Cut Stock and Molding in White City.

He was an American Legion commander and a member of the Kanab Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Marc, Medford; two sisters, Bertha Cherrington and Della Stanley, both Stockton, Calif.; and two granddaughters.

Terry A. Kingslien

The funeral for Terry Alan Kingslien will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Phoenix Church of Christ.

Mr. Kingslien, 31, formerly of Medford, died Wednesday (May 13, 1998) in Corvallis from injuries suffered in a vehicle accident.

He was born Dec. 6, 1966, in Fairbanks, Alaska. He grew up in Medford and was a 1985 graduate of Medford Senior High School.

He was an electrician in the U.S. Navy serving on board a nuclear submarine for six years.

In 1991, he attended Southern Oregon State College, later switching to Oregon State University.

In 1995, he married Bridgett Attebery, who survives. They moved to Corvallis while he attended college and made their home there.

In 1997, Mr. Kingslien obtained his contractor's license.

He enjoyed working on cars, hunting and camping.

His son, Samuel Isaiah, five months, is in critical condition at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland.

Survivors, in addition to his wife and son, include his parents, James and Betty Kingslien, Phoenix; a sister, Sherry Kara, Phoenix; and grandmothers, Evelyn Peterson, Phoenix, and Frances Kingslien, Eagle Point.

Arrangements: McHenry Funeral Home, Corvallis.

Louis R. Cranston

The funeral for Louis R. Cranston will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou Chapel. Virginia Poage and Lisa Brunett will officiate.

Mr. Cranston, 77, long-time Medford insurance agent, died Tuesday (May 12, 1998) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.

After serving in the Navy during World War II, Mr. Cranston came to Grants Pass as sales representative for AAA and in 1949 was promoted to district manager for Jackson, Josephine, and Klamath counties. During that time he established the Medford office.

In 1951 he opened Lou Cranston Insurance Agency. Through a merger it became the Goldy-Cranston-Henselman Agency. He was an insurance agent for more than 40 years.

He was born May 18, 1920, in Los Angeles.

In January 1975 in Medford, he married Barbara E. Higginson, who survives.

Mr. Cranston served as state national director for the Oregon Professional Insurance Agents and was a life member of National Association of Home Builders.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Patricia Maberry, Beaverton, and Candace Mulholland, Tigard; a stepson, Bobby Higginson, Medford; a stepdaughter, Nola Pounders, Huntington Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Voris, Strathmore, Calif., and Everett, Paso Robles, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Robert L. Mead

The memorial service for Robert L. Mead will be at 11 a.m. June 27 in the Sixth Street Baptist Church, Gold Beach. Pastor Fred Seidler will officiate.

Mr. Mead, 70, formerly of Ashland, died Thursday (May 14, 1998) at the Rogue Valley Medical Center. His home was in Gold Beach.

Memorial contributions may be made to Curry County Hospice, P.O. Box 746, Gold Beach, OR 97444.

He was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Portland and grew up in Klamath Falls.

In 1944 he joined the Merchant Marines, then the U.S. Army in 1946.

On Oct. 18, 1950, in Reno, he married Shirley A. McNeely, who survives. They lived in Klamath Falls for a time before moving to Ashland, where he attended Southern Oregon College, graduating in 1960.

He first taught at Azalea School in Brookings. The family moved to Gold Beach in 1973, where he taught at Riley Creek School until retiring in 1987.

Mr. Mead was a member of the Elks Lodge, Scottish Rite Temple of the Masonic Lodge, and Gold Beach Senior Center.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, and reading.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Matthew, North Bend, Grant, Gold Beach, Mark, Roseville, Calif., and Michael, Seattle; his mother, Bernice Finch, Medford; a sister, Alice Theis, Medford; and six grandchildren.

Elizabeth Mueller

Elizabeth Mueller, 87, of Medford, died Friday (May 15, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Nov. 14, 1910, in Nome, Alaska.

Miss Mueller was a retired secretary-accountant in the insurance industry.

She moved to Medford from Los Angeles in 1985, to be near friends, Chet and Joyce Defty.

Miss Mueller is survived by a nephew, Mark Outcalt, Indianapolis, Ind. A sister, Ruth Outcalt, preceded her in death.

Hazel Gallardo

The graveside service for Hazel Gallardo will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Gallardo, 94, of Medford, died Friday (May 15, 1998) at her home.

She was born Hazel Holloway on Dec. 27, 1903, in Woodson County, Kan.

On April 17, 1945, she married Fred Gallardo, who preceded her in death. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1948 from Colorado Springs, Colo.

For many years, Mrs. Gallardo was a cook for a cattle ranch. She bowled in a local league and was a sports fan.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth E. Myers, Butte Falls, and Clifford L. Myers, Colorado Springs; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Five brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Marvin Graham

Marvin Graham, 69, formerly of Medford, died Friday (May 8, 1998) in Shawnee, Okla. His home was in Shawnee. The funeral was held May 11 in Shawnee.

He was born April 6, 1929, in Blanchard, Okla.

Mr. Graham moved to the Rogue Valley in the early 1950s.

He was an automobile salesman in Medford for many years before returning to Oklahoma in the early 1990s.

Mr. Graham was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Blair, Keno; a son, Darrell Howard, Beggs, Okla.; two brothers, Curtis, Medford, and Dennis, Tulsa, Okla.; five sisters, Juanita Woods and June Wilcoxson, both Shawnee, Cora Rose, Durant, Okla., and Roberta Everett and Betty Anderson, both Tulsa; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Arrangements: Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Okla.
