Anneliese Miller
The graveside service for Anneliese Miller will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rock Point Pioneer Cemetery, Gold Hill. Pastor Doug McMahan of Bible Baptist Church will officiate.
Mrs. Miller, 65, of Gold Hill, died Friday (May 29, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
She was born Anneliese Reimund on June 16, 1932, in Hahn Pfungstadt, Germany.
On Dec. 29, 1951, in Hahn Pfungstadt, she married Christoph Miller, who survives. They moved to Gold Hill 17 years ago from Germany.
Mrs. Miller, a florist, worked for Gold Hill Florist, and had worked at Gold Hill Market and Bakery.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include six sons in Germany; four daughters, three in the United States and one in Germany; and two sisters. A brother preceded her in death.

William C. Rush
The memorial service for William C. Rush will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou Chapel. The Rev. Carmelo Mifsud will officiate. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Rush, 78, of Medford, died Thursday (May 28, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born March 11, 1920, in Hood River.
On Aug. 9, 1941, in Hood River, he married Donna Jean Phoades, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1961 from Hood River.
Mr. Rush worked for Standard Oil Company for 15 years, retiring in 1982.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
A 50-year-member of the Elks Lodge, he also was a member of the Moose Lodge, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the American Legion.
Mr. Miller enjoyed outdoor activities.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, William Robert, Richard Loval, and G. Norman, all Medford; a brother, Robert M., Prineville; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A son, Edwards Jan, died in 1958. A brother and a sister also preceded him in death.

Marie Van Daam
Marie Louise Van Daam, 68, of Shady Cove, died Sunday (May 24, 1998) in a Medford foster care home. Private interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
She was born Marie Louise Rams on Nov. 24, 1929, in Richmond, Calif.
She was a longtime resident of Pacifica, Calif., before moving to Rogue River in 1985.
On June 19, 1995, in Rogue River, she married Glenn Van Daam, who survives. They lived in Clackamas for a year before moving to Shady Cove in 1996.
She was a member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West and Order of the Eastern Star and active with Girl Scouts.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Cary Seidler, Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii; a daughter, Linda Breaux-Bay, Novato, Calif.; a sister, Helen Jane Fanucchi, Crockett, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A brother, Fredrick Rams, preceded her in death.

Opal Ralls
The funeral for Opal Ross Ralls will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Hillcrest Memorial Chapel. The Rev. William Turnbull will officiate.
Mrs. Ralls, 89, formerly of Medford, died Friday (May 29, 1998) in Warrenton.
She was born Opal Ross on Feb. 24, 1909, in San Jose, Calif.
On Sept. 10, 1927, in Compton, Calif., she married Ernest E. Ralls, who preceded her in death. They moved to Oregon in 1949.
The couple started a Sunday school in Central Point that later became the Country Church, which they served for 10 years. Later the church moved into town and is now the Central Point Assembly of God.
She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois Roberts, Shady Cove, Wanda Sinclair, Tygh Valley, and Joy Twedell, Sweet Home; a son, Richard, Seaside; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A brother, John L. Ross, preceded her in death.

Elizabeth Ramp
Elizabeth Ann Ramp, 64, formerly of Medford, died Saturday (May 30, 1998) in Salem. Her home was in Salem. Interment will be private.

She was born June 2, 1933 and graduated from the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Springfield.
She was a registered nurse at Medford Clinic before moving to Salem 20 years ago from Medford.
Survivors include four daughters, Sara Harbour, Medford, Margaret Nelson, Grants Pass, Jane Ahearn, Washougal, Wash., and Kathleen Ramp, Morgan Hill, Calif.; a brother, Jack Passmore, Grants Pass; two sisters, Sally Thomas, Houston, Texas, and Joan Kunz, Walnut Creek, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Mable L. Clark
Mable L. Clark, 92, formerly of Ashland, died Tuesday (May 12, 1998) at the West Park Long Term Care Center in Cody, Wyo. No local service is planned. Inurnment will be in Ashland.
She was born Mable Swanson on Jan. 27, 1906, in College Place, Calif. When she was a child, the family moved to Ashland, where she attended school.
She met George T. Clark in Grants Pass, and they married in 1950 in Reno. They moved to Cody in 1971.
Mrs. Clark was a secretary for 33 years with Pacific Northwest Bell Co.
Mrs. Clark served in the Women's Army Corps (WACS) during World War II. She was an avid bowler, winning many trophies, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include numerous nieces and nephews. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Lawrence L. Werner
The graveside service for Lawrence Lester Werner will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Grants Pass.
Mr. Werner, 87, of Rogue River, died Friday (May 29, 1998) at his home.
He was born June 18, 1910, in Salida, Colo.
Mr. Werner served in the U.S. Coast Guard and Merchant Marine.
For many years he worked in mail room of the Los Angeles Times newspaper, retiring in 1973.
He moved to Grants Pass in 1980 from Riverside, Calif., then to Rogue River in 1981.
Survivors include his companion of 18 years, Catherine Dobron, Rogue River; a son, Robert Lawrence, Dallas, Texas; a stepson, John Stratton, Hot Springs, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Annie Santia, Alhambra, Calif.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie.
Friends may pay their respects from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home.
Marie A. Brooke
Marie A. Brooke, 86, of Medford, died Thursday (May 28, 1998) at Hearthstone. A private service is planned.
She was born Marie Minich on June 22, 1911, in Lansing, Mich.
Mrs. Brooke was a bookkeeper in the oil industry.
Survivors include a daughter, Anne Brooke, Medford; a son, Keith, Detroit, Mich.; two sisters, Helen Crafton, Eaton Rapids, Mich., and Agnes Andrews, Hastings, Mich.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Flavius L. Brooke.

Nina Kroder
Nina Kroder, 95, of Medford, died Wednesday (May 27, 1998) at the Rogue Valley Manor. No service is planned. Private inurnment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
She was born Nina Maulding on May 26, 1903, in Ocate, Oklahoma Territory.
For six years she lived on the family's cattle ranches in west Texas, then in the Walla Walla, Wash., area where her father and his partners were in extensive wheat and cattle raising.
One of the country schools she attended had originally been a church built by Marcus Whitman, pioneer missionary.
Expecting to become a teacher, she attended Monmouth Teachers College and the University of Oregon. After four years of teaching, she switched to medicine, taking her nurse's training at St. Mary's Hospital in Walla Walla and other hospitals, including one in Medford.
A medical and surgical technician, she served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In Medford in 1945, she married Dr. Russell R. Sherwood, who died in 1965. She assisted him in his practice in the Portland area and both were active in the building effort of Eastmoreland Hospital there.
In 1967, she married Howard Kroder, who died in 1976. They moved to Ashland in 1970 from Lake Oswego. She lived at the Royal Mobile Estates in Jacksonville until moving to the Rogue Valley Manor in 1982.
She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include a sister, Lela Canine, Klamath Falls; two stepdaughters, Donna Widmer and Elaine Holtel, both Medford; and four nieces and nephews, including Barbara Collier, Klamath Falls.
