Reuben Earl Orndorff
Reuben Earl Orndorff, 76, formerly of Medford, died Sunday (May 31, 1998) in Klamath Falls. His home was in Klamath Falls.
His life was celebrated at a service Thursday in the Klamath Falls Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Virgil R. Askren officiated. Interment was in Klamath Memorial Park.
He was born Dec. 17, 1921, in Newtown, Mo.
Mr. Orndorff served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He moved to Los Angeles in 1945. In 1949, in Los Angeles, he married Virginia Ruth Powers, who survives.
They moved to Eagle Point in 1964 with their three children. The couple also raised three grandchildren, Rodney Kuntz, Joshua Kuntz, and Angela Russell, all now of Klamath Falls.
Mr. Orndorff was an independent truck driver for 30 years. After retiring, the Orndorffs moved to Klamath Falls in 1993.
Mr. Orndorff enjoyed fishing and building boats.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Sandra Mersereau, White City; a son, Larry, Keno; three brothers, Vernon, Shady Cove, and Bill and Ricky, both in California; six sisters, Dora Mae, Dorothy, Beverly, Helen, Virginia, and Wilma Jean, all in California; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kuntz; a sister, Irene; and a brother, Norville.

Bertha Widen
The graveside service for Bertha Widen will be today in Hillside Cemetery in Los Angeles.
rs. Widen, 86, of Talent, died Thursday (June 4, 1998) at her home.
She was born Bertha Handzel on Aug. 18, 1911, in Austria. She moved to the United States in 1921, living in the Los Angeles area.
In August 1939, in Chicago, she married George Widen, who died in 1964.
Mrs. Widen was active in the Council of Jewish Women, volunteering daily for 10 years.
She moved to Talent in 1993.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey, Ashland; a daughter, Susan Gulizia, Longmont, Colo.; a brother, Arnold Handzel, Northridge, Calif.; a sister, Hilda; and three grandchildren.

Julie Bruce Hardin
Julie Bruce Hardin, 71, of Eagle Point, died Monday (June 1, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center, Medford. A private service was held.

She was born Julie Frugoli on Sept. 16, 1926, in Lucca, Italy.
Mrs. Hardin was a swimming instructor for 24 years at the Metropolitan Club in San Francisco, retiring in 1992.
On Dec. 19, 1991, in Eagle Point, she married R. Bill Hardin, who survives.
Mrs. Hardin moved to San Rafael, Calif., in 1971 and to the Rogue Valley six years ago.
She enjoyed boating.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three sons, Roy Bruce, Clearlake, Calif., and George Bruce and Rollin Bruce, both Petaluma, Calif.; two daughters, Judy Bruce and Jane Halpin, both San Rafael; two sisters, Rina Donati, South San Francisco, and Tina Maggiora, San Mateo, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Neil Joseph Driscoll
The graveside service for Neil Joseph Driscoll will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Molinari of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Grants Pass, will officiate.
Mr. Driscoll, 74, of Medford, died Wednesday (June 3, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Chicago.
On July 5, 1947, in Chicago, he married Regina Golden, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1979.
Mr. Driscoll owned Col Lec Inc. in Medford.
During World War II, he was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include six sons, David Allen, Central Point, Neil Joseph III, Portland, John Andrew, Eugene, Mark Edward, San Jose, Calif., Paul Stephen, Houston, Texas, and Matthew John, Vancouver, Wash.; three daughters, Kathleen Driscoll Mort and Lorraine Marie Driscoll, both Medford, and Mary Driscoll Hazel, Washougal, Wash.; and 10 grandchildren.

William E. Knox
William Edward Knox, 85, of Medford, died Thursday (June 4, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center. No service is planned. Private inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 22, 1912, in Columbus, Ohio.
On Oct. 2, 1960, in Las Vegas, Nev., he married Dorothy Davies, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley 18 years ago from Long Beach, Calif.
Mr. Knox was a sales engineer for Pasceo in San Francisco for a number of years. He retired from Tower Structures of Pasadena, Calif.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1956.
An avid golfer, he was a member of the Rogue Valley Country Club and bridge player.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Patricia Rastle, Portland; and three grandchildren.

Olive Shelton Stevens
The graveside service for Olive Shelton Stevens will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Calvary Cemetery, Sacramento, Calif. The Rev. Twomey of Presentation Parish, Sacramento, will officiate.
Mrs. Stevens, 85, of Medford, died Wednesday (June 3, 1998) at her home.
She was born Olive Shelton on Nov. 21, 1912, in Walnut Grove, Mo.
In February 1953, in Carson City, Nev., she married William T. Stevens, who died in 1979.
Mrs. Stevens moved to the Rogue Valley nine years ago from Sacramento.
During World War II, she worked in the infirmary at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento.
She was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include three daughters, Melani Sultz, Medford, Barbara Bedegrew, Santa Cruz, Calif., and Rosemary Hammons, Citrus Heights, Calif.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A sister, Dolly Frances, preceded her in death.

Ray Graves
The funeral for Harold Ray Graves will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Chapel in Salem. Interment will be in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.
Mr. Graves, 53, formerly of Ashland, died Thursday (June 4, 1998) in Salem from colon cancer. His home was in Salem.

He was born Nov. 7, 1944, in Sheridan, Ark.
Mr. Graves graduated from Ashland High School in 1963 and from Southern Oregon State College in 1973.
On March 30, 1969, he married Wendy Ross, who survives.
Mr. Graves served in the U.S. Air Force until 1969, then joined the Oregon National Guard and was commissioned in 1971. After retiring as a major in the Army National Guard in 1989, he was personnel manager for the Oregon National Guard until April 1998.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, water sports, music and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Travis and Jeff, both Portland; a daughter, Julie Davis, Salem; his father, H.R. Buck Graves, White City; and a brother, Louis, Reno, Nev.

Everett Vance Stone
Everett Vance Stone, 34, formerly of Ashland, died Saturday (May 30, 1998) at his home in Centralia, Wash. No service is planned.
He was born May 12, 1964, in Coquille, a son of Ray and Nancy Stone.
Mr. Stone grew up in Coquille and later attended Ashland schools.
In 1985, he moved from Ashland to Centralia, where he drove pilot cars for a trucking company.
Mr. Stone enjoyed camping, fishing and outdoor sports.
Survivors include a sister, Julia Stone, Portland; and a grandmother, Sybyl Squire, Ashland.
