Marian G. Rodgers
The memorial service for Marian G. Rodgers will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the West Main Church of Christ, Medford.
Mrs. Rodgers, 76, of Medford, died Tuesday (June 23, 1998) at her home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eagle Point Senior Center, 121 Loto St., Eagle Point, OR 97524.
She was born Marian Thomas on July 12, 1921, in Brookings.
The family moved to Butte Falls when she was a child and she attended school there.
On May 21, 1941, in Medford, she married Cecil E. Rodgers, who died in 1983.
Mrs. Rodgers was a teacher's aide.
She was a Foster Grandparent, a member of the Eagle Point Senior Center, Eagle Point Grange, Eagle Point Historical Society and the Brookings Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Russel, Medford, and Bruce, Jacksonville; a sister, Hazel Keasey, Portland; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Three sisters preceded her in death.

Opal Bernice King
The funeral for Opal Bernice King will be at 2 p.m. today in Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Pastor Bob Gass of the Harvest Baptist Temple, Medford, will officiate.
Mrs. King, 70, of Ashland, died Tuesday (June 23, 1998) at her home.

She was born Opal Edwards on Feb. 4, 1928, in Dorris, Calif.
On June 2, 1952, in Ashland, she married Albert King, who survives.
Mrs. King was an owner and bookkeeper of Hanscom & King Logging from 1953 to 1992.
She owned the King's Queen Shop, a specialty dress store in Ashland from 1981 to 1988.
Mrs. King enjoyed arts and crafts and traveling, particularly with her husband to the annual reunion of the crew of the USS Jackson, the ship Mr. King served on in the Navy.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include five daughters, Dora Bowman, Ashland, Judy Curtiss, Gold Hill, Nancy Callahan and Kathy Price, both Sacramento, Calif., and Celine Speers, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; a son, Larry Hopkins, Kinross, Mich.; two sisters, Helen Reed, Puyallup, Wash., and Betty Horton, Weed, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Marian Helen Mongrain
Marian Helen Mongrain, 84, of Medford, died Saturday (June 20, 1998) at Hearthstone. No local service is planned.
She was born Marian Chandler on Dec. 9, 1913, in Long Beach, Calif.
Mrs. Mongrain moved to the Rogue Valley 60 years ago from California.
She retired nine years ago from her job at a dry cleaners.
Mrs. Mongrain enjoyed driving her black Mustang.
Survivors include a son, Phillip, Medford; and three grandchildren. Her husband, Aldric L. Mongrain preceded her in death.

John Wesley Reece
John Wesley Reece, 86, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (April 16, 1998) in Rogue River. No service is planned.
He was born May 29, 1912, in Pasadena, Calif.
On Jan. 22, 1940, in Pasadena, he married Frances C. Fields, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Reece moved to the Rogue Valley 10 years ago from Whidbey Island, Wash.
He owned and operated the Reece 5-10-25 Cent store in Sierra Madre, Calif., from 1947 to 1960.
He enjoyed gardening, reading and sports.
Survivors include a son, Craig, Berkeley, Calif.; a daughter, Cathy Hall, Oakland, Calif.; a sister, Elizabeth Sharrer, Boise, Idaho; and two grandsons. A brother, Bob, preceded him in death.

Eileen Frances Doney
Eileen Frances Doney, 69, of Medford, died Monday (June 22, 1998) at her home.
She was born Eileen F. Dionne on Jan. 7, 1929, in Milltown, Mont.
Mrs. Doney moved to the Rogue Valley 50 years ago from Olympia, Wash.
On Oct. 24, 1952, in Glendale, Ariz., she married Albert Doney, who survives.
Mrs. Doney was a member of the Ashland Lutheran Church and the National Rifle Association. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and metal detecting.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Douglas King, in California; two sisters, Charlotte Thornton, Medford, and Gladys, in Washington; a brother, Clarence Dionne, Marysville, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
A brother, Arthur Dionne, preceded her in death.

Mary A. Wilburn
The funeral Mass for Mary Alice Wilburn, an active Southern Oregon Live Steamers member and Master Gardener, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Carmelo Mifsud will officiate. Interment in Eagle Point National Cemetery will be at 1 p.m.
Mrs. Wilburn, 75, of Medford, died Saturday (June 20, 1998) at her home.

She was born Mary Alice Kilthau on Oct. 3, 1922, in Portland.
On Nov. 5, 1976, in Reno, she married Roland E. Wilburn, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1974 from Aloha.
Mrs. Wilburn, who retired from Pacific Northwest Bell after 40 years, also did landscape design.
She donated her time to do income tax returns for low-income people and enjoyed reciting Robert Service poems, all of which she had memorized. She enjoyed dancing.
During World War II she served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors, in addition to his husband, include a daughter, Elizabeth Dickinson, Bethel, Alaska; and a granddaughter.

Art Johnson
The memorial graveside service for Art Johnson will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson, 54, of Central Point, died Sunday (June 21, 1998) at his home.
He was born March 10, 1944, in Clinton, Mo.
Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam.
He moved to the Rogue Valley two years ago from Eldon, Mo.
Mr. Johnson enjoyed cooking and gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Yepp, Central Point; two sons, Pat, Bend, and Scott, Virginia Beach, Va.; and five grandchildren. A granddaughter preceded him in death.

Bertha May Clark
Bertha May Clark, 63, of Rogue River, died Friday (June 19, 1998) at her home. No service is planned.
She was born Bertha May Quarp on July 19, 1934, in Hoquiam, Wash.
Mrs. Clark lived in the Grants Pass and Rogue River areas for 15 years.
She enjoyed crafts, knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include three sons, Bernard R. Mailman II, Rogue River, Micheal R. Rikstad, Idaho City, Idaho, and Richard E. Mailman, Redding, Calif.; a daughter, Kathy A. Sullivan, Rogue River; two brothers, Andrew Quarp, Hoquiam, and Johnnie Quarp, Aberdeen, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her husband, Gene H. Clark, died Nov. 22, 1989, and a sister, Georgia May Quarp, also preceded her in death.
