Russell Cerrone

The funeral for Russell Cerrone will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford. Pastor Ken Schubert of Applegate Community Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mr. Cerrone, 90, of Medford, died Thursday (July 2, 1998) in Medford.

He was born July 27, 1907, in Campagna, Italy.

On Nov. 10, 1932, in Meriden, Conn., he married Rose Agro, who died in 1989. They moved to the Rogue Valley from Riverside, Calif., 21 years ago.

A buffer and plater, Mr. Cerrone worked for the Charles Parker Co., Pratt and Whitney, and Norton Air Force Base in San Bernadino, Calif., and North Island Naval Base in San Diego, before retiring.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Medford and the Applegate Community Church in Ruch.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.

Survivors include a daughter, Audrey Cerrone, Medford; a son, John, Medford; and two sisters, Margaret Marcellino and Mary Sasso, both Meriden. Three brothers, Anthony, Joseph, and John; and two sisters, Viola Wysocki and Helen Femia, preceded him in death.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary.

Joseph I. Rensfield

A private service is planned for Joseph Ingman Rensfield, 91, of Ashland, who died Thursday (July 2, 1998) at a Medford foster home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

He was born March 12, 1907, in Bemidji, Minn.

In 1930 at International Falls, Minn., he married Helen Ziker, who died in February 1998. They moved to Oregon in 1944.

He was a logger for 37 years.

After retiring he worked for several years for Century 21 Real Estate making and installing signs.

Survivors include three sons, Chuck, Escondido, Calif., Richard, San Diego, and Ken Rensfield, Santa Clara, Calif.; a daughter, Barbara Brinkworth, Windsor, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A daughter preceded him in death.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

Mary Lynn Fair

The memorial service for Mary "Honey" Lynn Fair will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, Juanipero Way, Medford. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mrs. Fair, 51, of Medford, died Thursday (July 2, 1998) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Mary Lynn Clark on Oct. 16, 1946, in Bakersfield, Calif.

On April 16, 1977, in Bakersfield she married Robert L. Fair, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1989.

A 1971 graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in psychology, she was the first woman claims adjuster in Bakersfield. She later owned Mary's Fabric Fair.

In Medford, she worked for White Birds Kites as a contract seamstress making kites.

Mrs. Fair was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three sons, Daniel and Tommy, both Medford, and Michael, Colorado Springs, Calif.; a brother, Kenneth, Tulsa, Okla.; a half-brother, Patrick Daly, Wimer; a half-sister, Loretta Record, Bakersfield; and seven grandchildren.

A sister, Sharon Fryatt, preceded her in death.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Memorial Park and Mortuary.

Earl Gaile Smith
Elizabeth H. Smith

The memorial graveside service for Earl Gaile Smith and Elizabeth Helen Smith, both Shady Cove, will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Ron Welch of Trail Community Church will officiate.

Mr. Smith, 82, died Thursday (July 2, 1998) and Mrs. Smith, 81, died Sunday (June 14, 1998) both at the Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trail Community Church, 399 Old Trail Road, Trail, OR 97541.

He was born Aug. 23, 1915, in Phoenix, Ariz. She was born Elizabeth Helen Day on April 29, 1917, in Truth, Ark.

They married April 29, 1965, in Honolulu, Hawaii. They moved to the Rogue Valley 12 years ago from Kansas City, Mo.

Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a regional supervisor for Equafax, a credit reporting company. He retired in 1984.

Mrs. Smith, a beautician, retired seven years ago. She was a life member of Disabled American Veterans. They both were members of Trail Community Church and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Helen Duschamp, Medford, and Glenda Holycross, Rockford, Ill.; two sons, Ronald I. Dumas, Williams, and Walter Smith, Elko, Nev.; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Mr. Smith also is survived by two sisters, Jacqueline Smith, Waddell, Ariz., and Marjorie Cypert, Chula Vista, Calif.

Jerry D. Noble

The memorial service for Jerry D. Noble will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Lodge Room of the Ashland Elks Lodge.

Mr. Noble, 58, of Ashland, died Wednesday (July 1, 1998) at the Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501 or the American Lung Association of Oregon, 9320 S.W. Barbur Blvd., Suite 140, Portland, OR 97219-5481.

He was born June 7, 1940, in Huntington Beach, W.Va., and grew up in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

In 1960 in Manhattan Beach, he married Eileen Wegrich. They later divorced.

In 1980 at Redondo Beach, Calif., he married Roberta "Bobbie" Beer. They later divorced.

Mr. Noble. a draftsman and engineer with Hughes Aircraft for 15 years, was the co-owner of the Beltmaster Corp., formerly of Lawndale, Calif. Beltmaster, which makes seat belts for the aircraft industry, moved to Ashland in 1983.

Mr. Noble was a member of the Ashland Elks Lodge and the Rogue Valley Street Rod Association.

Survivors include two daughters, Nicole "Nikki" Heun, Talent, and Avery Noble, Ashland; four brothers, Jim, Palm Springs, Calif., John, Bethlehem, Pa., and Doug and Mike; and two granddaughters.

Lorraine S. Allred

Lorraine Allred, 78, of Central Point, died Friday (July 3, 1998) at her home. A private service is planned.

She was born Lorraine Higgs on March 17, 1920, in Layton, Utah.

She was a retired nurse's aide.

Mrs. Allred, a member of the Central Point Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, enjoyed drawing, the outdoors, and reading, especially history and southern novels.

Survivors include five daughters, Gloria Gillaspey, Medford, Pamela Allred, Central Point, Carolyn Baccellia, Sacramento, Calif., Colleen Barnett, Vallejo, Calif., and Susan Talley, Kelso, Wash.; three sons, Bruce and Forrest, both Central Point, and Brent Console, Payson, Utah; three brothers, Alden Higgs in Utah, and Thomas and Clark Harris, both in California; six sisters, Kathryn Pezzillo and Virginia Sunderland, both Talent, and Delores Rassmussen, Charlotte Westover, Marilyn Wolfran, and Thelma Hilder, all in California; 24 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Grant Harris; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Elizabeth A. Skinner

The funeral for Elizabeth Anne Skinner will be at 10 a.m. Monday at White City Christian Church. Pastor Vernon Landreth will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Skinner, 97, of Central Point, died Wednesday (July 1, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 10 Crater Lake Ave., Suite 10, Medford, OR 97504 or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Elizabeth Anne Platt on April 13, 1901, in Athens, Texas.

On April 3, 1918, in Lawton, Okla., she married William Edgar Skinner, who died in 1982. They moved to Central Point in 1959 from California.

From 1947 to 1956 near Corona, Calif., the couple owned the "OK Cafe." She also had worked in school cafeterias in California.

A member of the White City Christian Church, she helped build the church, was active in its programs and sang in the choir.

She enjoyed helping others, gardening, sewing and crocheting.

Survivors include four daughters, Juanita Summers and Peggy Anne Pellett, both Central Point, Viola J. Cook, Ridgecrest, Calif., and Barbara M. Anderson, San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Hazel Gordon, Sutherlin, and Stella Seymour, Umpqua; 20 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She has 144 descendants. A daughter, Molly Johnson; and three brothers preceded her in death.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel.

Robert A. Cooper

The funeral for Robert A. Cooper will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Pastor Don Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland.

Mr. Copper, 79, formerly of Ashland, died Wednesday (July 1, 1998) at the Royale Garden Health and Rehabilitation Center, Grants Pass.

He was born Feb. 10, 1919, in Ashland, a son of Elmer and Dora Cooper. He grew up near the Green Springs.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, then returned to Ashland, where he lived until moving to Klamath Falls in 1965.

On March 30, 1972, in Reno, he married Lucy Mae Cunningham, who survives.

A millwright and carpenter, he worked in commercial construction. He retired from his own company in 1978.

Mr. Cooper was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 190.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a stepson, Monte Baldwin, Grants Pass; a stepdaughter, Joey Weaver, Tacoma, Wash.; a brother, Charlie Cooper, Central Point; a sister, Ila Mae Sorter, Aden, Calif.; and four stepgrandchildren.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home.
