Mildred E. Seaver
The funeral for Mildred E. Newnham Seaver will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hillcrest Chapel, Medford. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Seaver, 85, formerly of Medford, died Friday (July 3, 1998) in Vancouver, Wash. Her home was in Vancouver.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.
She was born Mildred Ellen Wyatt on July 5, 1912, in Oregon.
In 1966, in Reno, she married Winford Seaver, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Seaver, who lived most of her life in the Rogue Valley, lived in Klamath Falls for 26 years.
She worked at Gogswelle Market in Gold Hill for 15 years.
Mrs. Seaver was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Gold Hill.
Survivors include a son, Stan Newnham, Vancouver; a twin sister, Marguerite Oden, Grants Pass; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Chapel.
Nadine Lois Whiteaker
Nadine Lois Whiteaker, 88, of Medford, died Friday (July 3, 1998) at the home of her son, William, in Medford. A private service is planned.
She was born Nadine Hoffman on Jan. 28, 1910, in Edgewood, Ill.
In 1941, in Monterey, Calif., she married Raymond Whiteaker, who preceded her in death. They lived in San Francisco and Menlo Park, Calif.
Mrs. Whiteaker graduated from the Methodist Nursing School near Indianapolis. She was a registered nurse for more than 50 years in private duty at Palo Alto-Stanford Hospital and was head nurse at the Sequoias Retirement Community in Portola Valley, Calif.
At Palo Alto-Stanford Hospital she cared for many San Francisco 49er football players who requested her because of her sense of humor and back rubs. She also took care of a number of celebrities including Charlie Ruggles, Red Skelton and Cary Grant.
Mrs. Whiteaker moved to Medford nine months ago from Coos Bay.
Survivors include four sons, William, Medford, Don Craig, Crescent City, Calif., Robert, Menlo Park, Calif., and David, Santa Clara, Calif.; a brother, John Hoffman, Edgewood; a sister, Lois Hoffman, in Illinois; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arline H. Mencke
The memorial service to celebrate the life of Arline H. Mencke will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church, Medford. The Rev. Joyce DeGraaff will officiate.
Mrs. Mencke, 80, of Medford, died Saturday (July 4, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Arline Haupert on Dec. 2, 1917, in Perry, Iowa.
A 1940 graduate of Iowa State University, she received a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
On June 15, 1940, she married Raymond E. Mencke, who died in 1993. The couple moved to Medford in 1949.
Mrs. Mencke was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, then was a charter member and ordained elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church after it was sponsored by First church.
She was a past state president of the Oregon State Chapter, PEO Sisterhood, and active in the Medford Chapter, American Field Service. The family hosted a foreign student in 1965-66.
They moved to Eugene in 1975, where she was active in the First Congregational Church, serving for many years as volunteer financial secretary. She also was on the Cascade Manor board.
She returned to Medford in 1996.
Survivors include a son, Edward, Mercer Island, Wash.; a daughter, Carolyn Gabrielson, McLean, Va.; her identical twin sister, Josephine Fries, Ashland; and three grandchildren. A brother, Garner T. "Bud" Haupert, preceded her in death.

Agnes M. Shive
The memorial service for Agnes M. Shive will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Christian Church of Ashland.
Mrs. Shive, 99, of Ashland, died Sunday (June 29, 1998), at the Linda Vista Care Center.

Annette Kay Wilson
The funeral for Annette Kay Wilson will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Conger-Morris Funeral Home, Medford. Pastor Lyle McCaw of the White City Christian Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the family plot in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mrs. Wilson, 48, of Medford, died Saturday (July 4, 1998) at Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital, Portland, from complications of non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
Memorial contributions may be made to Doernbecher Children's Hospital, 3181 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97201.
She was born Annette Kay Lee on Oct. 6, 1949, in Manton, Mich.
Mrs. Wilson graduated from Medford High School in 1967.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Wilson, Medford; two sons, Christopher Meuser and Jacob Wilson, both Medford; two daughters, Sarah Wilson, Medford, and Angela Meuser, La Jolla Indian Reservation, Calif.; her mother, Pat Lee, Medford; three brothers,
Robert Phillips and Larry Lee, both Medford, and Gary Phillips, Marietta, Ga.; five sisters, Sherry Bradley, Medford, Sharla Taylor, Ashland, Dorothy Campanali and Fay Dolese, both Picayune, Miss., and Lynette Paczolt, Belleview, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
A son, Kenny William Meuser Jr., died in 1987.

Jean F. Neathamer
The memorial service for Jean Florence Neathamer will be at 11 a.m. today in the Memory Gardens Chapel. Pastor Dan Mickelson of New Song Church in Medford will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Neathamer, 81, of Medford, died Thursday (July 2, 1998) at Hearthstone.

She was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Medford.
On Nov. 25, 1933, in Medford, she married Norman D. Neathamer, who died in 1996. She lived her entire life in the Rogue Valley except for six years in San Francisco.
She was commander of the Disabled American Veterans.
Mrs. Neathamer, a baseball fan, also enjoyed bingo and reading.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Hahner, Medford, Norma Bright, Camas Valley, and Dixie Francis, Corvallis; two sons, Norman and Michael, both Medford; a brother, Chuck Rice, Phoenix; a sister, Carrie Mae Rickman, Union City, Calif.; nine grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren. A daughter, Sandra Neathamer; three sisters; and two brothers preceded her in death.

Verlon Marie Cole
Verlon Marie Cole, 82, of Medford, died Friday (June 26, 1998) at a local foster care home. No service is planned.
She was born Verlon Benson on May 20, 1916, in Heber Springs, Ark.
Mrs. Cole moved to the Rogue Valley 20 years ago from Heber Springs, Ark.
She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Smith, Central Point, and Donna Pinheiro, Modesto, Calif.; two sons, Richard and Robert, both Central Point; two brothers, Alan Benson and Reynolds Benson, both in California; a sister, Faye Geiss, in California; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Hubert M. Johnson
The funeral for Hubert M. Johnson will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Siskiyou Chapel, Medford. Pastor James Hildabrand of McMinnville will officiate. Interment will follow in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mr. Johnson, 94, of Ashland, died Wednesday (July 1, 1998) at Hearthstone.

He was born April 4, 1904, in Lamar County, Texas.
On Dec. 24, 1922, in Arkansas, he married Jennie Lee Yarberry. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1972 from Arkansas.
Mr. Johnson was a heavy equipment operator in Alaska, retiring in 1958. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union in Alaska.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Lewis Johnson, Pleasant Hill, Calif.; a daughter, Bernice Croff, Silverdale, Wash.; two brothers, Herman, Malvern, Ark., and J.B., Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Norene Smith, Cashmere, Wash.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may pay their respects from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Siskiyou Chapel, Medford.
