Dion W. Taylor Jr.
Dion W. Taylor Jr., 77, formerly of Medford, died Friday (June 26, 1998) in a Las Vegas, Nev., hospital. No service is planned.
He was born March 11, 1921, in Philadelphia, Pa.
Mr. Taylor was a graduate of Brown University, Providence, R.I.
During World War II, he was a fighter pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Mr. Taylor was an airline pilot for Pan American Airlines until retiring in 1973.
Mr. Taylor lived in Medford from 1967 to 1974, when he moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. He moved to Las Vegas in 1985.
He was a member of the Rogue Valley Country Club and an avid golfer.
Survivors include a son, Dion "Bill" III, Medford; a daughter, Virginia Archer, Lahaina, Hawaii; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beryl, in 1972; his second wife, Joella, in 1992; and a granddaughter.

Ernest M. McCullough
Ernest Maxwell McCullough, 86, of Medford, died Tuesday (July 7, 1998) at his home. A private service is planned for later.
He was born Aug. 25, 1911, in Crescent City, Calif.
In 1956, he married LaVern Timmons, who preceded him in death.
Mr. McCullough was employed with the Federal Aviation Administration for 25 years in the South Pacific and Alaska. During War II, he survived the attack on Wake Island while working for Pan American Airlines.
He was a 50-year member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret McCullough, Crescent City, and Betty Pierachini, Redwood Valley, Calif.; two sons, Jim Dillman, Paulina, and John Dillman, Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Florence Fowler, Etna, Calif., and Marcella Martin, Mount Shasta, Calif.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Bill Brooks
The graveside service for Bill Brooks will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Brooks, 74, of Medford, died Tuesday (July 7, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.

He was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Chickasha, Okla.
On Sept. 15, 1946, in Montebello, Calif., he married Agnes Petry, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1961 from California.
Mr. Brooks served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He began a career as a self-employed insurance agent in 1958.
Mr. Brooks was a member of the USS Kidd Association Desron 48.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Will, Medford, and Ron, Arlington; a daughter, Suzanne Mann, Eugene; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack; and two sisters, Caroline Menendez and Maurine Scrivner.

John A. Drager
The memorial service for John A. Drager will be at 10 a.m. July 27 at the Ashland Elks Lodge.
Mr. Drager, 90, of Ashland, died Thursday (July 2, 1998) at Ashland Community Hospital.

He was born July 27, 1907, in Eagle River, Wis.
Mr. Drager grew up in Wisconsin where he was light heavyweight boxing champion.
He came West in the 1930s and moved to Ashland in the mid-1930s.
On Dec. 8, 1938, in Vancouver, Wash., he married Mary M. Strasdin Hansen. They were divorced in 1961.
On June 8, 1964, in Grants Pass, he married Helen Strand, who died in 1984.
Mr. Drager owned and operated several Ashland cattle ranches and worked in the timber industry.
As a parent he was active in 4-H, and was a longtime member of the Ashland Elks Lodge.
He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan Drager, Ashland, and Annette Drager, Murphy; two stepdaughters; a stepson; a sister, Ruth Wivel, Alexandria, Va.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson, three brothers, and a sister.

Tena Wall
A celebration of the life of Tena Wall will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Hope Presbyterian Church, Rogue River.
Mrs. Wall, 96, of Rogue River, died Monday (July 6, 1998) at Three Rivers Community Health Center.

She was born Tena Wiens on Feb. 14, 1902, in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Mrs. Wall lived in Dinuba, Calif., many years before moving to Rogue River in 1985.
Mrs. Wall was proud of the fact she climbed Table Rock at age 87.
She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church and active in Calvary Baptist Church in Dinuba.
Survivors include two sons, Gordon, Rogue River, and Richard, Portland; a daughter, Shirley Tulberg, Minneapolis, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wall.

Lynn I. Jackson
The funeral for Lynn I. Jackson will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Gold Hill Christian Center. Pastor Joel Williams will officiate.
Mrs. Jackson, 38, of Medford, died Thursday (July 2, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born Lynn Davis on Nov. 11, 1959, in Medford.
On Dec. 24, 1997, in Gold Hill, she married William Jackson, who survives.
Mrs. Jackson was a shift supervisor at Bear Creek Corp.
She enjoyed fishing, camping, animals, and plants.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Nichole Yates, White City; a son, Ryan Yates, Klamath Falls; three sisters, Kathy Shaw, Talent, and Suzy Holcomb and Pam Meyers, both Portland; two brothers, Robert Davis, Medford, and Greg Davis, Enterprise; and her stepmother, Barbara Davis, Coos Bay. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Naomi Davis.

Angela Joy Albano
The funeral for Angela "Angie" Joy Albano will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Morro Bay, Calif.
Miss Albano, 21, formerly of Ashland, died Monday (July 6, 1998) in an automobile accident in Morro Bay. Her home was in Morro Bay.

She was born May 11, 1977, in Tarzana, Calif. Soon after her birth, the family moved to Ashland.
Miss Albano was a 1995 graduate of Ashland High School, where she was active in volleyball, basketball, Key Club and SADD. She also volunteered at Crisis Intervention Helpline and was a Big Sister at Lincoln Elementary School in Ashland.
Miss Albano received an associate of arts degree earlier this year from Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
She enjoyed poetry, writing, reading and the ocean.
Survivors include her parents, Ron and Diane Albano, Ashland; a sister, Lisa Albano, Ashland; two brothers, Ron, Aira, Japan, and Rick, Kanoya, Japan; and grandparents, Dave and Shirley Cosley, Arroyo Grande, Calif., and Lefty and Tessie Albano, Los Angeles.
Paula Jean Courtright
The memorial service for Paula Jean Courtright will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Andy Greene of the Ashland Christian Fellowship will officiate.
Mrs. Courtright, 54, of Medford, died Sunday (July 5, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Paula Jean Stone on March 1, 1944, in Boise, Idaho.
On Aug. 4, 1961, in Florence, she married Jerry J. Courtright, who died in February 1996.
Mrs. Courtright lived most of her life in the Rogue Valley.
She enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Westcott, Talent, and Brenda North, Medford; a sister, Maggie Baird, Medford; and four grandchildren.
