Shelby B. McAllister
The funeral for Shelby B. McAllister will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel, Medford. Interment will follow.
Mr. McAllister, 82, formerly of Medford, died in Anaheim Hills, Calif.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.
Agatha M. Early
Mass will be celebrated for Agatha M. Early on 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford. The Rev. Ray Elam will officiate. Interment will follow in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
A Christian wake will be held at 7:30 tonight in the Conger-Morris Chapel, Medford.
Mrs. Early, 92, of Medford, died Wednesday (July 22, 1998) in Medford.

She was born Agatha M. Cavanagh on Aug. 6, 1905, in Petaluma, Calif.
In 1931, she married R. Allan Early, who died in 1969.
Mrs. Early was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Providence Guild and Rogue Valley Country Club.
She enjoyed bridge and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include a son, Edward A., Medford; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A brother preceded her in death.

John Richard Hatfield
The funeral for John Richard Hatfield will be held Friday at Skyline Funeral Home, Portland. Interment will follow in Skyline Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hatfield, 60, formerly of Medford, died Tuesday (July 21, 1998) in Gresham. His home was in Fairview.
He was born Sept. 7, 1937, in Birmingham, Ala.
Mr. Hatfield lived in Roseburg from 1951 to 1955 and attended Roseburg High School.
He lived in Medford from 1960 to 1966.
In 1962, he married Mildred "Millie" J. Zittercob, who survives.
Mr. Hatfield moved to Portland in 1968.
He was president of the Medford Lions Club and a member of the Elks Lodge and Shriners.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Penny Stady and Tracy Cline, both Beaverton; three brothers, Robert, Roseburg, Michael, Federal Way, Wash., and Thomas, in Nevada; a sister, Francis Martineau, Oakland; and four grandchildren. A grandchild preceded him in death.

Chris Leon Gold
The memorial service for Crystal "Chris" Leon Gold will be at 10 a.m. today in the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary Chapel, White City. Inurnment will be in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Gold, 71, of Central Point, died Sunday (July 19, 1998) at Hearthstone.

He was born July 30, 1926, in Climax, Jackson County.
On April 12, 1947, in Reno, he married Jeanette Deutschman, who survives.
Mr. Gold, who joined the U.S. Navy in 1943, served during World War II and the Korean War as an engineman first class.
After his discharge in 1952 he was with the Sacramento Sheriff's Department for six years, then returned to active duty with the Navy Reserve serving on troop ships to Vietnam and on a tanker that serviced Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica. His military service totaled 17 years.
He was a heavy equipment mechanic in California until the family returned to Medford in 1969. He retired in 1970.
Mr. Gold was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.
He enjoyed bingo.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Robert, Sacramento, Calif., Lawrence, North Highlands, Calif., and Leon, Garfield, Ark.; a brother, Donald, Pleasant Plain, Ohio; four sisters, Alene Fisher, Jacksonville, Hazel M. Scanlan, Sacramento, Opal M. Smoot, Post Falls, Idaho, and Nadine Green, Citrus Heights, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Robin; a sister, Velma Beck; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.

Lee Faye Marmo
The memorial service for Leota "Lee" Faye Marmo will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford. The Rev. Ray Elam will officiate.
Mrs. Marmo, 66, of Medford, died Monday (July 20, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Leota Hoover on Aug. 17, 1931, in Independence, Kan.
On June 22, 1951, in Ashland, she married Thomas J. Marmo, who survives.
Mrs. Marmo worked in the Mail Tribune accounting department for about 10 years prior to retiring.
She enjoyed bowling, gardening and reading.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Julie Wandell, Beaverton, and Teresa Glenn, Brea, Calif.; her mother, Leona Hoover, Medford; a brother, Max Hoover, Hawthorne, Calif.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Larry Hoover.

Catherine E. Rees
The graveside service for Catherine Elizabeth Rees will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Rees, 93, of Medford, died Monday (July 20, 1998) in Medford.

She was born Catherine Stauffer on Jan. 5, 1905, in Clifton, N.J.
In May 1932, in New Jersey, she married Trevor Rees, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rees moved to the Rogue Valley eight years ago from Salinas, Calif.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford.
Survivors include a daughter, June Davis, Roseville, Calif.; a son, Alfred Crawford, Yuma, Ariz.; a sister, Helen G. Gardipee, Medford; a brother, Paul Stauffer, Phoenix, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.

Julia Frances Parks
Julia Frances Parks, 74, of Shady Cove, died Saturday (July 18, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service is planned.
She was born Julia Eastman on Dec. 3, 1923, in Gooding, Idaho.
Mrs. Parks was a registered nurse.
She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1989 from Enterprise.
Mrs. Parks enjoyed caring for others, bird watching, walking and reading.
Survivors include a son, Steve, Shady Cove; two daughters, Carol Parks Sickler, Newberg, and Nancy Anderson, Wenatchee, Wash.; a brother, James Eastman, Homedale, Idaho; two sisters, Phyllis Courtney, Enterprise, and Ruth Paulus, Spokane, Wash.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A brother, Robert Eastman, preceded her in death.

Bruno J. Salvestro
Mass of Christian burial for Bruno J. Salvestro will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Yreka, Calif. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
Mr. Salvestro, 67, of Yreka, died Sunday (July 19, 1998) at Fairchild Medical Center, Yreka.

He was born Jan. 22, 1931, in Steinman, Ore., and moved to Hilt, Calif., in 1934.
Mr. Salvestro graduated from Yreka High School in 1951 and from Sacramento Junior College in 1953. He moved to Yreka in 1965.
Mr. Salvestro worked for Fruitgrowers Supply Co. in Hilt from 1954 until the mill closed in 1974. He then worked for the Siskiyou County Road Department until his retirement in 1994.
An avid flyer, he spent most of his free time at the Montague Airport, where he and friend Jim Rice built an experimental biplane. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and was known for his skill in flour bombing and ribbon cutting competitions.
Mr. Salvestro also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a brother, John, Yreka.
