Pamela P. Delatorre
The memorial service for Pamela Prieto Delatorre will be at 10 a.m. today at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
Mrs. Delatorre, 78, of Ashland, died Wednesday (Aug. 12, 1998) at Ashland Community Hospital.
She was born Pamela Prieto on June 6, 1920, in San Christobal Ballesa, Chihuahua, Mexico.
On Oct. 25, 1951, in Hidalgo De Parral, Chihuahua, she married Rosario Delatorre, who died in 1992.
Mrs. Delatorre came to the United States in 1951 and moved to Ashland in 1956.
She was a volunteer with the Amigo Club, which helped found Ashland's sister city relationship with Guanajuato, Mexido. She also was instrumental in the naming of Guanajuato Way in Ashland.
Mrs. Delatorre gave many demonstrations of traditional tortilla making.
Survivors include three sons, Victor Aguilera, Ashland, James Leland Delatorre, Talent, and Rosario Delatorre Jr., Sunnyvale, Calif.; two daughters, Esther Sanchez, Ashland, and Betty Patricia Delatorre, Sunnyvale; two brothers, Guadalupe Prieto, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, and Ignacia Prieto, Chihuahua, Chihuahua; four sisters, Rebecca Moreno, Weed, Calif., Nicolasa Jardea, Hidalgo De Parral, Aurora Zavala, Toluca, Mexico, and Fulgencia Saenz, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Arthur Wesley Ayers
Friends and relatives of Arthur Wesley Ayers will gather from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at 621 Shadow Wood Drive, Medford. A memorial service will be held later in Red Lodge, Mont.
Mr. Ayers, 62, of Medford, died Thursday (Aug. 13, 1998) at his home.

He was born Jan. 1, 1936, in Denver, Colo.
On July 2, 1965, in Arlington, Va., he married Patricia Rouane, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1996 from Red Lodge.
Mr. Ayers was the State of Montana Assistant U.S. Attorney and later Assistant Attorney General. He also served in the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. He practiced law in Red Lodge from 1969 until retiring in 1996.
Mr. Ayers was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Medford and the Red Lodge Rotary Club. He enjoyed photography, theater productions, reading and traveling.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Erika Schultz, Portland; a son, Jonathan, Portland; a sister, Nancy Coiner, Morristown, N.J.; and a grandson.

Harriett Claypool Tehan
The funeral for Harriett E. Claypool Tehan will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Siskiyou Chapel, Medford. The Rev. Robert Larson of Ascension Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mrs. Tehan, 90, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday (Aug. 12, 1998) in Salem.
She was born Harriett Whitehead on Feb. 28, 1908, in Jefferson City, Mo.
Mrs. Tehan moved to the Rogue Valley in 1953. She lived in Grants Pass for 17 years.
Mrs. Tehan was a member of the Roxy Ann, Williams and Grants Pass granges, and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include three sons, Ed S. Claypool, La Pine, W. Wayne Claypool, Lancaster, Calif., and Donald M. Claypool, in England; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Brown, Salem; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Winfield W. Claypool in 1966; her second husband, Marvin Tehan in 1997; three sisters; and a brother.

Dorothea H. Hershiser
The graveside service for Dorothea Hildred Hershiser will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Hershiser, 88, of Medford, died Monday (Aug. 10, 1998) at her home.

She was born Dorothea Wendel on Feb. 1, 1910, in Norton, Kan.
On April 14, 1930, in Norton, she married Clarence D. Hershiser, who died in 1977. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946 from Tacoma, Wash.
Mrs. Hershiser was a longtime member of the First Christian Church, a life member of Olive Rebekah Lodge, chief matriarch of the Medford IOOf with a degree in chivalry, and a member of Royal Neighbors.
Survivors include a son, Robert Wayne, Redwood City, Calif.; two daughters, Dorothy Jean Hoertling, Yreka, Calif., and Betty Joan Martin, San Jose, Calif.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Wendel; and a great-granddaughter.

William `Bill' Houck
The memorial service for William "Bill" Edwin Houck will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hull & Hull Chapel, Grants Pass. Pastors Gary Shults and Curt Christian will officiate.
Mr. Houck, 91, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Aug. 12, 1998) at Three Rivers Community Hospital, Grants Pass.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
He was born July 17, 1907, in Kerby, where he was raised.
Mr. Houck served in the U.S. Army from 1928 to 1929.
On Nov. 5, 1932, in Grants Pass, he married Iola Lois Weitfle, who died in 1986. The family moved to Grants Pass in 1945.
Mr. Houck was a lumber grademan and tallyman for Rogue River Box Co. from 1945 to 1957. Later he was a ditchrider for the Tulelake Irrigation District in the Klamath Basin.
In 1959, he moved to Othello, Wash., where he was a ditchrider for the Bureau of Reclamation. He retired in 1969 as water resource manager for the Bureau of Reclamation at the Deadwood Reservoir near Cascade, Idaho.
Mr. Houck later lived in Washington, Canyonville and Butte Falls, and in Grants Pass for two years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Tucker, Central Point, and Lois Wilson, Gresham; a son, Walter, Roseburg; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe; and his parents, Henry Willis and Laurinda Jane Winters Houck.
Friends may pay their respects from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, Grants Pass.
Irvin W. Bodam
Irvin W. Bodam, 92, of Grants Pass, died (Wednesday (Aug. 12, 1998) at Hearthstone. A service will be held later.
He was born Feb. 11, 1906, in South Haven, Kan.
Mr. Bodam moved to Grants Pass in 1950 from Ilwaco, Wash.
He operated a sawmill for many years.
Mr. Bodam enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivrs include three daughters, Dixie Gronewald, Ashland, Betty Walker, in California, and Cora Lee Hoffman, in Florida; three sons, Gerry, Medford, Glenn, Bonner Springs, Kan., and Phillip, in Washington; and numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Harrison.

Gladys P. McClurg
The memorial service for Gladys P. McClurg will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, in the First Baptist Church, Crater Lake Ave., Medford.
Mrs. McClurg, 90, of Medford, died Wednesday (Aug. 12, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.

She was born Gladys Beagle on March 10, 1908, in Ruch, and was lifetime resident of Oregon.
Mrs. McClurg was a Sunday school teacher for 17 years at the First Baptist Church and a Good News Bible teacher for 25 years in the Child Evangelism Fellowship.
Survivors include two daughters, Nina Gain, Medford, and Della Berntson, Rogue River; two sons, David Jr., Anchorage, Alaska, and Patrick, Marysville, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Roger Lawrence
Frank Roger Lawrence, 78, formerly of Central Point, died July 28, 1998, of thyroid cancer at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Bremerton, Wash. His home was in Bremerton.
Interment was in Miller-Woodlawn Cemetery, Bremerton. No service is planned.
He was born Oct. 20, 1919, in Roseburg.
Mr. Lawrence grew up in the Central Point area and graduated from high school there.
In 1942, he moved to Bremerton and worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in the public works department.
After serving in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946, he resumed his career at PSNS, retiring as an associated supervisor inspector in 1973.
On May 24, 1946, in Reno, he married Gweneth Poling, who died in 1993.
Mr. Lawrence was a member of the Bremerton Trap and Skeet Club, the Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club, the National Rifle Association, and the Elks and Eagles lodges.
