William `Bill' Davis
William "Bill" Henry Davis, 66, of Medford, died Thursday (Aug. 27, 1998) at his home. No service is planned.

He was born July 6, 1932, in Medford.
On April 4, 1959, in Renton, Wash., he married Janice S. Stevens, who survives.
A self-employed marine mechanic, Mr. Davis had owned and operated Southern Oregon Marina since 1970.
He was a life member of the Medford Elks Lodge and the National Rifle Association. The NRA honored Mr. Davis last weekend by dedicating an annual banquet to him.
He enjoyed flying airplanes.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Scott, Phoenix; a brother, James A., Medford; his mother, Margaret Kantor Davis, Medford; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Marc; and his father, Ellis Davis.

Doreen Meilicke
The memorial service for Doreen Meilicke will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in the Harvest Baptist Temple, 2001 S. Columbus Ave., Medford.
Mrs. Meilicke, 67, of Phoenix, died Thursday (Aug. 20, 1998) at her home.

She was born Doreen Hartles on Sept. 9, 1930, in Victoria, B.C.
On Jan. 27, 1950, in Washington, she married Edward "Ted" Meilicke. Together they had three children. They were divorced in 1978.
She moved to the Rogue Valley 40 years ago.
She retired from Southern Oregon State College in 1995, where she was a custodial supervisor for nearly 20 years.
She was a member of Harvest Baptist Temple and in recent years volunteered at Trinity Respite Center in Ashland. She also enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Mielicke, Ashland, and Diane M. Allen, Medford; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven R.; a sister, Kathleen Ann Hartles; and her former husband.

Jason Lee Rogers
A memorial service for Jason Lee Rogers was held Aug. 22, 1998, at Caldwell's Colonial Chapel in Portland. The Rev. Daryl Dixon officiated.
Mr. Rogers, 20, formerly of Medford, died Aug. 18, 1998, in Portland.
He was born on March 31, 1978, in Eugene.
Mr. Rogers moved to Medford in 1982, where he attended Hoover Elementary School, Hedrick Junior High School and South Medford High School.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and soccer. He also enjoyed fishing and camping.
Survivors include his father, Jeff Rogers, Medford; his mother and stepfather, Lori and Will Warren, Portland; a sister, Heather Rogers, Portland; two stepbrothers and a stepsister, all Portland; and grandparents, Fran and Leo Wine, Lake Wales, Fla., and Ethelyn Russell, Beaverton. He was preceded in death by a son.

Lloyd M. Harlacher
The memorial service for Lloyd M. Harlacher and his wife, Mary Harlacher, will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the Tom Pearce Park tri-shelters, Grants Pass. A potluck picnic and celebration of their lives will follow.
Mr. Harlacher, 83, of Merlin, died Thursday (Aug. 20, 1998). Mrs. Harlacher, 79, of Merlin, died in July 1997.
He was born Jan. 1, 1915, in Teaken, Idaho.
He married Mary Elizabeth Parks.
Mr. Harlacher moved to Grants Pass in 1944 from Coos Bay.
He worked in produce for many years and owned and operated grocery stores in Grants Pass and Coos Bay.
He enjoyed gardening and fishing, and sharing the bounty with friends and relatives.
Survivors include three sons, Jim, Merlin, John, Cranbrook, B.C., and Bruce, San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Barbara Hanawalt, Townsend, Mont.; two sisters, Alma Williams, Medford, and Vera Looney, Yuba City, Calif.; three brothers, Elmer, Medford, Roy, Rogue River, and Ervin, Palo Alto, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Elnora H. Brown
The memorial service for Elnora H. Brown will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, in the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Jackson Creek Congregation, 953 Garfield Ave., Medford. Wesley Mather will officiate.
Mrs. Brown, 76, of Medford, died Monday (Aug. 24, 1998) in Medford.
She was born Elnora Thorworth on Jan. 10, 1922, in Fallon, Nev., and grew up in Fallon and Virginia City, Nev.
On March 16, 1942, in Fallon, she married Harry O. Brown, who died in 1977.
Mrs. Brown moved to the Rogue Valley 14 years ago from Reno.
She performed ministerial work for Jehovah's Witnesses in Nevada and Oregon for 11 years.
Mrs. Brown enjoyed crocheting, reading the Bible, cooking and music.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon McCall, Medford, and Donna Drewsen, Bonners Ferry, Idaho; two sons, Barney, Anderson, S.C., and Tom, Reno, Nev.; a sister, Ernestine Jones, Pine Grove, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Marion Trammell
The graveside service for Marion Trammell will be at 2 p.m. today in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. Don Holmes of the Trail Christian Fellowship will officiate.
Mr. Trammell, 59, of White City, died Tuesday (Aug. 25, 1998) at his home.
He was born Nov. 4, 1938, in Santa Monica, Calif.
On March 19, 1988, in Medford, he married Sandra Wilson, who survives.
Mr. Trammell served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a mechanic.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Mark, Medford; a daughter, Kayla Trammell, Central Point; and three grandchildren.

Virginia M. Morse-Ells
The memorial service for Virginia M. Morse-Ells will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hope Christian Church in Central Point. The Rev. Darold Hutsell will officiate. Private interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Morse-Ells, 82, of Medford, died Monday (Aug. 24, 1998) in Medford.

She was born Virginia Mae Hall on June 12, 1916, in Chowchilla, Calif. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Chowchilla when she was 19, and graduated from high school in Rogue River.
In 1935, in Medford, she married Mirl W. Morse, who preceded her in death.
On Aug. 17, 1969, in Reno, Nev., she married Renwick M. Ells, who survives.
She was a bookkeeper for Texaco Co., Montgomery Ward, and Sears.
Mrs. Morse-Ells was a member of the Medford Women's Moose Lodge and Mended Hearts.
She was a Girl Scout leader, and taught reading skills through the Laubach teaching program. She assisted the elderly with income tax preparation, and was involved with the Jacksonville Women's Luncheon.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Kathy Herndon, Jacksonville, and Lori Hallquist, Lake Oswego; two brothers, Bill Hall, Portland, and Walt Hall, Ellensburg, Wash.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.

John Edwards
The graveside service for John Edwards will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Mr. Edwards, 71, of White City, died Saturday (Aug. 22, 1998) in White City.

He was born Nov. 22, 1926, in Portland.
Mr. Edwards joined the U.S. Navy in 1944, and served during WWII. Following his Navy service, he joined the U.S. Army as a construction surveyor, serving during the Vietnam War. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1975, following his retirement from the military.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Patricia J. Edwards, Bend; two nieces, Peggy Biskar and Nancy Edwards, both of Portland; and a nephew, Richard L. Edwards, New Delhi, India.
