Florence L. Lind
The funeral for Florence L. Lind will be at 12:30 p.m. today in the Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford. Pastor Bill Gallagher of Cornerstone Christian Church, Medford, will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Lind, 85, of Central Point, died Friday (Aug. 28, 1998) at Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland.
She was born Florence LeFebvre on Feb. 23, 1913, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
On Aug. 15, 1929, in Pontiac, Mich., she married Roy John Lind, who died in 1980.
Mrs. Lind moved to the Rogue Valley in 1978 from Eureka, Calif.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church.
Survivors include four sons, George Duval, Medford, Thomas Paul, Bothell, Wash., Ronald John, Detroit, Mich., and Robert Roy, Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Joyce Florence McNamer, Central Point; two brothers, Roland LeFebvre, McCook, Neb., and Leo LeFebvre, Livonia, Mich.; a sister, Rose Marie McKimmey, Lake Davis, Mich.; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
William A. Martin
William A. Martin, 84, of Medford, died Friday (Aug. 28, 1998) at a local foster home. No service is planned.
He was born Jan. 3, 1914, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
In 1938, in Montreal, he married Agnes Miller, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Martin owned and operated a restaurant in California for many years.
He moved to the Rogue Valley 10 years ago from Santa Barbara, Calif.
During World War II, he served in the Canadian Army infantry and was a survivor of the invasion at Dieppe, France.
Mr. Martin was a member and president of the Restaurant Association of Santa Barbara. He enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include three sons, John Jefford and Patrick Jefford, both Montreal, and Peter Jefford, Champal, Quebec.

Barbara J. Winters
Friends and relatives of Barbara J. Winters will gather from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 300 Staple Lane, Ashland.
Mrs. Winters, 69, of Ashland, died Wednesday (Aug. 26, 1998) at the Ashland Community Hospital.

She was born Barbara Lentz on April 26, 1929, in Long Beach, Calif., where she was raised.
On March 4, 1947, in Lakewood, Calif., she married Lorin H. Winters, who survives.
They moved to Ashland in 1964, operating a cattle ranch there.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Candace Williams, Ashland; a son, Michael, Ashland; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Bernice Lavina Klavano
The funeral for Bernice Lavina Klavano will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Private interment will be in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.
Mrs. Klavano, 89, formerly of Ashland, died Thursday (Aug. 27, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center, Medford.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
She was born Nov. 15, 1908, in Boville, Idaho, the daughter of Corance V. and Emily Jobes Rogers.
On Oct. 14, 1923, in Spirit Lake, Idaho, she married Raymond Klavano, who died in 1972. They came to the Rogue Valley in 1933 from Bieber, Calif.
She enjoyed gardening and camping.
Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Cutler, Eagle Point; one brother, Lloyd Rogers, Ashland; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was one son, Norman Eugene "Bud" Klavano in 1974.

Si Harris
The memorial service for Wayne Harold "Si" Harris will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Linus Oaks Retirement Center, 2665 Van Pelt Boulevard, Roseburg. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Mr. Harris, also known as Chief Yellow Knife, 82, of Roseburg, died Friday (Aug. 28, 1998) at Linus Oaks Retirement Center.

He was born March 11, 1916, in Twin Falls, Idaho, and graduated from Medford High School.
On Oct. 23, 1938, he married Doris Patton, who preceded him in death.
He worked for the California Oregon Power Company/Pacific Power for 40 years until 1981, a career that took him from Medford to Prospect, Roseburg, Yreka, Calif., and Ariel, Wash. He retired to Bend before moving to the Linus Oaks Retirement Center.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by one son, Michael Wayne, Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Gayle Harris Withnell, Salem, and Ginger Harris Stratton, Roseburg; two sisters, Elsie Wood and Mildred Brooks, both of Vallejo, Calif.; four stepsons, Robert, Mark, Andy and David Preston; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One stepson, Jeff Preston, preceded him in death.

F. Michael Adams
The graveside service for F. Michael Adams will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford. The Rev. Emmitt Shortreed of the First Methodist Church, Medford, will officiate.
Mr. Adams, 44, of Medford, died Thursday (Aug. 27, 1998) at his home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Tennis program at Southern Oregon Tennis Club, 2700 Hillcrest Road, Medford, OR 97504, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
He was born June 16, 1954, in Medford, a son of Harold Richard and Jacquelyn Adams, who preceded him in death.
On April 21, 1984, in Jacksonville, he married Lynette Pendergast, who survives.
Mr. Adams lived in Medford all his life, except for his tour of duty with the U.S. Navy in Antarctica and Guam.
He was a clerk at Fred Meyer until his illness in February 1996. He had previously worked with Copeland Lumber and Naumes Cold Storage.
Mr. Adams, an avid tennis player, played competitively from 1975 to 1996 and was a member of the national championship Volvo team in 1988. As a member of the Southern Oregon Tennis Club, he was club champion in 1990 and 1995 and also won various local tournaments in singles and doubles.
Club members, family and friends provided a trip for Mr. and Mrs. Adams to attend the 1996 Wimbledon tennis tournament in 1996.
He also was a strong supporter of youth tennis activities in Medford.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Aaron, Medford; two sisters, Rebecca Webber and Susan Badcock, both of Medford; and two brothers, Jamie Q. Adams, Medford, and Harold Richard Adams III, Lake Tahoe, Calif.

Kathleen Akemi Ishiara
The memorial service for Kathleen Akemi Ishiara will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, 456 W. Pine St., Central Point. The Rev. Dwayne Brown will officiate.
Ms. Ishiara, 52, died Friday (Aug. 28, 1998) at her home.
Donations may be made to the Soroptimist Cancer Awareness Project, care of Diane Davis, 1070 Brookdale Ave., Medford, OR 97504.
She was born Kathleen Akemi Inafuku on May 15, 1946, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
In 1968, in Honolulu, she married Gary Ishiara.
In 1983, in Central Point, she married Terry Twedell, who survives.
The couple, who met in Honolulu in 1975, lived in Central Point since 1977. Ms. Ishiara worked for the City of Medford from 1978 until this year.
She was a member of the Reach to Recovery group and helped establish the Medford Soroptimist Cancer Awareness Project.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Lee Ishiara; her parents, Robert and Helen Inafuku; a sister, Jeanette Tajiri; and a brother, Wendell Inafuku.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Inafuku, on December 23, 1995.

Verlie Haynes
The graveside service for Verlie Haynes will be at 11 a.m. today in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens, Grants Pass.
Mrs. Haynes, 94, of Medford, died Thursday (Aug. 27, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.
She was born March 18, 1904, in Hilgard.
Mrs. Haynes moved to Grants Pass from Eastern Oregon in the 1940s.
She was active in the Foster Grandparent Program for the past 20 years in the Medford School District.
Survivors include a son, Denzel, Medford; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Herbert, died 31 years ago.
