Donald Lester Kerr
The funeral for Donald Lester Kerr will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Phoenix Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.
Mr. Kerr, 73, of Medford, died Monday (Aug. 31, 1998) in Medford.

He was born on July 30, 1925, in Twisp, Wash.
On June 26, 1954, in Hoquiam, Wash., he married Marilyn J. Evans, who preceded him in death.
He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1990 from Bellflower, Calif.
Mr. Kerr was a warehouseman for Southwest Plywood and Lumber in Rancho Dominguez, Calif., before retiring in 1988.
He was a member and volunteer at the Phoenix Church of Christ, a Boy Scout leader from 1968 to 1974, and also volunteered with ACCESS.
Survivors include a daughter, Jody Jaime, Downey, Calif.; two sons, Paul, La Habra, Calif., and Richard, Ontario, Calif.; a twin sister, Roberta Kolos, Susanville, Calif., sister, Bertha Thomas, Lynnwood, Wash.; and three granchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie, and an infant brother.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Conger-Morris Chapel, Medford.

Harold H. `Mike' Hunt
The memorial service for Harold H. "Mike" Hunt will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Fort Jones, Calif., Cemetery. Officers and members of Perry Harris American Legion, Etna, Calif., will officiate.
Mr. Hunt, 73, of White City, died Saturday (Aug. 29, 1998) at the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary, White City.

Orden O. Phillips
Orden O. Phillips, 70, formerly of Jacksonville, died Aug. 22, 1998, at his home in Wrangell, Alaska.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stikine Sportmen Association, P.O. Box 522, Wrangell, AK 99929. The association is establishing an emergency fund for medevac travelers from Wrangell.
He was born Jan. 25, 1928.

Gertrude A. Maurer
Gertude A. Maurer, 95, of Phoenix, died Saturday (Aug. 29, 1998) at a local foster care home. A graveside service will be held in Baker.
She was born Gertrude Miller on July 27, 1903, in Utah, and moved with her family to Oregon in 1906.
In 1964, in Winnemucca, Nev., she married Andrew W. Maurer, who survives.
Mrs. Maurer was a hotel clerk before her retirement.
She enjoyed playing bridge.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a brother, Harvey Miller, Eugene. She was preceded in death by twin brothers, Roy and Ray Miller; and two sisters, Eleanor Yancey and Sarah Boyd.

Patricia Waring
Patricia Waring, 78, of Medford, died Saturday (Aug. 29, 1998) at her home. A private service is planned.
She was born Patricia Snyder on Oct. 23, 1919, in Kankakee, Ill.
She was a hairdresser before her retirement.
She moved to Oregon in 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Strauss, Jacksonville; two sisters, Edith Hosier, Medford, and Dorothy Thompson, San Bruno, Calif.; and a brother, Elmer Snyder, Brookings.

Willard Owen Poling
Willard Owen Poling, 76, formerly of Medford, died Aug. 24, 1998, at the Chico, Calif., Convalescent Hospital. His home was in Magalia, Calif.
A funeral was held at Chapel of the Pines in Paradise, Calif. Interment was in the Magalia Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 12, 1921, in Phillipsburg, Kan., and moved with his family to Medford in 1930.
Mr. Poling was a 1941 graduate of Medford Senior High School.
On April 4, 1970, in Reno, he married Marie Giuffre, who survives. They moved to Magalia in 1977 from San Leandro, Calif.
Mr. Poling was an active member of the Paradise Elks Lodge.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Rick, Castro Valley, Calif.; a daughter, Jackie Navarette, Hayward, Calif.; two stepsons, Joseph Chaulkin, Durango, Colo., and Michael Chaulkin, Coulterville, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Marie Horn, Durango; two brothers, Warren and Donald, both Medford; and a sister, Jean Ivie, Medford.

Paul Ffoulkes Fletcher
The memorial service for Paul Ffoulkes Fletcher will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Ashland Christian Fellowship. Pastor Don Baker will officiate.
Mr. Fletcher, 91, of Ashland, died Thursday (Aug. 27, 1998) at his home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1907, in Los Angeles.
On Feb. 10, 1929, in Alhambra, Calif., he married Genevieve Sanders, who died in 1970.
Mr. Fletcher worked for Pacific Telephone for 29 1/2 years before his retirement in 1970.
He moved to the Rogue Valley 27 years ago from Alhambra.
Mr. Fletcher enjoyed his workshop, walking and swimming.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy C. Gladwell, Ashland, and Marilyn P. Fletcher, Garden Grove, Calif.; a son, Paul T., Bend; and five grandchildren. A grandson preceded him in death.

Sage ThunderBear Dumont
Sage ThunderBear Dumont, 2 1/2, formerly of Shady Cove, died Wednesday (Aug. 26, 1998) at his home on Bly Mountain from complications of a rare heart-lung disease.
A memorial service was held Aug. 28 at Chief Schonchin Cemetery in Beatty. His father led the tribute.
Sage was born Feb. 13, 1996, in Medford, a son of Shawn Dumont and Colleen "Kelli" Bartlett Dumont. The family moved to Bly Mountain from Shady Cove when he was about 6 months old.
A member of the Klamath and Modoc tribes, Sage is remembered as a happy, active and intelligent child. He enjoyed books and liked to be read stories about Native American people. His favorite book was "The Mud Pony," which he could recite from memory.
Sage also enjoyed watching "Blue's Clues" and "Toy Story."
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his grandparents, Skip and Sylvia Long and Bill and Judy Bartlett, all Medford, Porky and Phyllis Dumont, Portland, and Eddie and Nancy Jurado, Los Angeles; and his great-grandparents, Ted and Lillian Meglasson and Clarence and Ann Vance, all Medford.

Harry `Bud' Leisure
The graveside service for Harry "Bud" Leisure will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford. Pastor Fred Robinson of the Wesleyan Church, Medford, will officiate.
Mr. Leisure, 84, of Medford, died Saturday (Aug. 29, 1998) in Medford.

He was born May 27, 1914, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
In March 1969, in Las Vegas, he married Patricia Adams, who survives.
Mr. Leisure worked for 40 years with Globe Manufacturers Corp., a major office equipment producer.
He moved to the Rogue Valley in the early 1980s from Fresno, Calif.
Mr. Leisure was a member of the Medford Moose Lodge and the Timberjacks Booster Club. He was an avid baseball fan and booster.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Gary, Fresno; a stepson, Richard Chiponis, Medford; a stepdaughter, Jackie Wilson, Medford; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
