Marion Bass Stevens, 84, of Medford, died Saturday (Sept. 5, 1998) at her home. Interment will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland.
She was born Marion Bass on May 28, 1914 in Springfield. She was raised in Portland.
On June 20, 1938, in Portland, she married then-2nd Lt. Kermit D. Stevens, U.S. Army Air Corps, who survives.
She attended Reed College and graduated from the University of Oregon in 1935 with a bachelor of arts degree in arts and letters, and a teaching degree.
She worked at Portland's Olds, Wortman and King Department Store as the women's fashion buyer.
After her marriage, she accompanied her husband to 10 stateside military assignments and the Philippines.
The couple moved to Davis, Calif., in 1964, where she was a member of the Davis Human Relations Commission. She returned to school at California State University at Davis, earning a master's degree in employment counseling, and earned a doctoral degree in career education from the International College.
She was one of the first career counselors for the Sacramento County Office of Education and the San Juan Unified School District, and worked with the school district from 1968 until 1984.
She began her private career counseling practice in 1982, which she continued when they moved to Medford in 1992.
She was a member of the Jackson County Citizens Review Board, the League of Women Voters, the American Association of University Women, Chi Omega Sorority and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Ellen Marshall McBride, Ventura, Calif., and Mary Stevens Porter, Redwood Shores, Calif.
Nancy Henson
The funeral for Nancy Ophelia Henson will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Conger-Morris Chapel. The Rev. Lance Loveland of First Assembly of God Church will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Henson, 73 , of Eagle Point, died Wednesday (Sept. 2, 1998) at her home.

She was born Nancy Ophelia Norrwood on Oct. 10, 1924, in Donaldson, Ark.
She married Chester N. Henson, who survives.
They moved to the Rogue Valley 42 years ago from Junction City.
She was a seasonal worker for 10 years at Rogue River Packing Co.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
She enjoyed cooking, quilting and canning.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three sons, Chester Henson Jr., Shady Cove, John D. Henson, Medford and Calvin D. Henson, Bend; a daughter, Bonnie J. Miller, Eagle Point; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Joyce Kinnaman, preceded her in death.
Friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Conger-Morris Chapel.
Andrew Hutson
The funeral for Andrew Clyde Hutson will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Chapel. The Revs. Jim Hildabrand, Gordon Robinson and Dan Baslon will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Hutson, 94, of Ashland, died Thursday (Sept. 3. 1998) at his home.

He was born Oct. 16, 1903, in Sweet Home, Ark.
On Nov. 3, 1928, in Doyle, Ark., he married Mary D. Balch, who survives.
They moved to the Rogue Valley 45 years ago from Arkansas.
He was a farmer in Arkansas. In Ashland, he worked for Lithia Lumber Co. and other sawmills before retiring in 1968.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and choir member.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and watching baseball.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, James C. Hutson, Ashland; three daughters, Helen Troutman and Wanda Jo Wood, both Ashland, and Janie Stills, Klamath Falls; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel.
Edwin Hartman
The graveside service for Edwin Lawwill Hartman will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Rood of Psalm of Life Christian Church, Medford, will officiate.
Mr. Hartman, 75, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday (Sept. 2, 1998) in Jacksonville.

He was born July 29, 1923 in Bowling Green, Ky.
On April 2, 1943, in Oakland, Calif., he married Martha L. Hossack, who survives.
They moved to the Rogue Valley 10 years ago from Concord, Calif.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five daughters, Sheila Fries, Portland, Sharon Gross, Fairfax, Va., April Klamm, Nine Mile Falls, Wash., Michelle Detwiler of Buckley, Wash., and Tracey Vargas, Oakland; two sons, Edwin Hartman, Dallas, Texas, and James Hartman, Lynn Haven, Fla.; two sisters, Doris VanHoosier and Shirley Romine, both Memphis, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Conger-Morris Chapel.
Dillard Myers
The funeral for Dillard Myers will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Hull & Hull Chapel. Inerment will be in Granite Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Myers, 70, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (Sept. 3, 1998) at his home.

Mr. Myers was born July 1, 1928, in Muse, Okla.
On March 30, 1951, in Mena, Ark., he married Ionie Jaquess, who survives.
They moved to Grants Pass from Perez, Calif., in 1959.
He was a logger in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Nevada, California and Oregon.
He worked for Southern Oregon Plywood in Grants Pass until the plant closed in 1988, then at the Medford Corp. Plywood Division in Medford until retiring in 1990.
He owned and operated the Caveman Second Hand Store in the old Brewery building for several years and was an accomplished small engine repairman.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean War.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Ray, Grant Pass, and Dillard, Oceanside, Calif.; a daughter, Elaine Brown of Dora, Ala; a brother, Jeff, Dallas, Texas; a sister, Melba Lee Keith, Muse; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Myers.
Nadine Knapp
Nadine Knapp, 87, of Medford, died Friday (Sept. 4, 1998) at her home. No service is planned.
She was born Enola Nadine McCalla on Jan. 18, 1911, in Nortonville, Kan.
On July 25, 1931, in Marysville, Calif., she married Rufus R. Knapp, who died in 1996.
They moved to Medford four years ago from Redding, Calif.
She helped manage the family business.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and playing the piano.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Jerome, Medford and Kathryn Moore-Boom, Ashland; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Danny McDuffy.

George Schroeder
George Frederich Schroeder, 83, of Central Point, died Thursday (Sept. 3, 1998) at his home. No service is planned.
He was born Sept. 7, 1914, in Berrien County, Mich.
On March 16, 1946, in St. Joseph, Mich., he married Ann M. Parik, who died in 1992.
They moved to the Rogue Valley from Berrien Springs, Mich., in 1980.
Before his retirement, he worked in the maintenance department of a cannery and in security at a nuclear power plant.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He enjoyed woodworking, camping and traveling.
Survivors include a son, Gail Schroeder, Central Point; and three grandchildren.
