Kristen Alene Oldland
The funeral service for Kristen Alene Oldland will be at 2 p.m. today at Shore Acres State Park in Coos Bay. The Rev. Kevin Garland of the First Church of the Nazarene in Medford will officiate. Private interment will be held in Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.
Ms. Oldland, 48, of Coos Bay, formerly of Medford, died Wednesday (Sept. 23, 1998) in Coos Bay of cancer.

She was born Jan. 31, 1950, in North Bend. She was a sixth-generation member of the Oldland pioneer family.
In 1972, she married Jim Howard of Coos Bay and was later divorced.
A 1968 graduate of Marshfield High School, Ms. Oldland attended Southwestern Oregon Community College and what was then Southern Oregon State College. While attending SOSC, she was a ward clerk at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was an office coordinator at Bay Area Hospital Home Health.
She was a member of the North Bend First Christian Church.
Ms. Oldland enjoyed interior decorating, gardening, the outdoors and children, especially her grandson, Austin.
Survivors include a daughter, Jaemi Howard, Coos Bay; a son, Steve Howard, Coos Bay; a stepdaughter, Heidi Caldwell, Salem; her parents, Leonard and Frances Oldland, Central Point; a brother, Jim, Central Point; and one grandchild.

Robert Carlyle Beebe
Robert Carlyle Beebe, 89, of Rogue River, died Wednesday (Sept. 23, 1998) at his home. No service is planned.

Mr. Beebe was born Aug. 22, 1909, in Florissant, Colo..
On July 30, 1938, in Everett, Wash., he married Joan A. Ritchey, who survives.
He moved to the Rogue Valley from Southern California in 1972.
Mr. Beebe was a professional landscaper in Garden Grove, Calif. He later worked in gift sales.
He was a member of the Traditional Jazz Society and enjoyed dancing with his wife.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Robert and Richard, both Rogue River, and John, Hilo, Hawaii; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Charles T. Crowe
The funeral service for Major (Ret.) Charles T. Crowe will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Shady Cove. Father William McHugh, O.M.I. will officiate. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Crowe, 77, of Medford, died Wednesday (Sept. 23, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born July 11, 1921, in Monessen, Pa.
On June 7, 1942, in Englewood, Colo., he married Lucille C. Ortega, who survives.
Mr. Crowe served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1949 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a major in 1965.
After retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Lockheed Aircraft in California.
He enjoyed fishing and golf, and was a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Denver Broncos.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four daughters, Julie A. Austad, Medford, Lisa R. Mendenhall, Shady Cove, Andrea M. Johnson, Central Point, and Laurie Marx, Chatsworth, Calif.; a son, Charles Jr., Winton, Calif.; a brother, James, Orange Park, Fla.; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ray Chisum
Ray Chisum, 85, of Medford, died Wednesday (Sept. 23, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.

He was born June 28, 1913 in Leakey, Texas.
Mr. Chisum moved to California in 1929 and was a group supervisor in the paint department for Lockheed Aircraft during World War II.
In 1947, he moved to Oregon and worked for Elk Lumber Company and Boise Cascade for 26 years. He was the auto shop foreman at Boise Cascade for 18 years before retiring in 1975.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing and trips to Reno.
Survivors include two daughters, Raydene Heitzhausen, Portland, and Peggy Litzenberger, Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Ruby Cocks, Medford; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Pat; and by five brother, Rollie, Walter, Frank, Alex and Mark.

Violet Wilcox
The graveside service for Violet Wilcox will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Wilcox, 90, of Medford, died Wednesday (Sept. 23, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Violet M. Jones on May 18, 1908, in Montague, Calif. She married William Wilcox, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wilcox moved to the Rogue Valley 18 years ago from Yreka.
Survivors include two daughters, Geraldine Goble, and Vivian Grafton, both Medford; two sisters, Catherine Hogan and Thelma Spannaus, both Yreka; a brother, Clyde Jones, Georgia; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Orville, Lawrence and Irvin.

Margaret Simmons
The memorial service for Margaret Vivian Shortness Simmons will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Perl Funeral Services, Siskiyou location.
Mrs. Simmons, 83, of Seattle, formerly of Medford, died Friday (Sept. 18, 1998) at her home.

She was born Margaret Vivian Shortness on Feb. 9, 1915, in Canton, Ill.
In 1933, in Canton, she married Clyde Lloyd Simmons, who died in 1978.
Mrs. Simmons and her husband sold appliances. They opened a Maytag store in Plano, Ill., and also started the Simmons Feed Company.
In 1965 they moved to Medford, where they owned and operated the Crown and Quill bookstore until 1973.
Mrs. Simmons also worked for Medford public schools for two decades.
Survivors include two sons, Jack and Sidney, both Oswego, Ill; a daughter, India Margaret Simmons, Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Malcom Shortness, London Mills, Ill.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Gordon Kent.

Curtis E. Yocham
The graveside service for Curtis E. Yocham will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Central Point Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. Elliott Lovelace of Bible Chapel in Talent will officiate.
Mr. Yocham, 67, of Central Point, died Thursday (Sept. 24, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Claremore, Okla.
He married Cletta M. Nordman, who survives.
Mr. Yocham was a supervisor with the Oregon State Highway Division from 1961 until 1992, when he retired.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He enjoyed restoring old pickups, playing the guitar and country music.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Holly; and two grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Monday at Central Valley Chapel in Central Point.
Margaret Russell
Margaret "Betty" Russell, 83, of Medford, died Friday (Sept. 25, 1998) at her home. Private family services will be held.
She was born Margaret Stafford on Aug. 7, 1915, in San Diego, Calif.
On May 20, 1944, in Los Angeles, Calif., she married Navy Lt. Senior Grade Michael Russell, who survives.
Mrs. Russell was a registered nurse. She attended nurses' training school in Long Beach, and after graduation became a stewardess for United Airlines, which required a stewardess to be an R.N.
After flying for several years, she was appointed head stewardess for United Airlines in Los Angeles.
She lived in Palo Alto, San Mateo and Ojai, Calif., before moving to the Rogue Valley 11 years ago.
Mrs. Russell was active in sports. She and her tennis partner were ranked nationally in their senior age group.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Susan Russell, Medford; a son, Robert, Woodside, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
