Ellen June Brown
Mrs. Ellen June Brown, 63, of Bend, and formerly of Ashland, died of cancer Monday, Nov. 12, 2001 in Luther, Mich. A family service will be held June 14, 2002.
Jeffrey Allen Staver
Jeffrey Allen Stewart, 32, of The Dalles, and formerly of Ashland, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001.
Mr. Staver was born Oct. 11, 1969 at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Guam, the first of three children to Robert and Janice (Gannon) Staver. He lived his first year on the island of Guam. After his family moved to The Dalles, in 1974, Jeffrey attended St. Mary's Academy and graduated from The Dalles High School in 1988.
He studied architecture at the University of Oregon for four years before transferring to Southern Oregon University where he earned a BFA in Scenic Design with honors in the department of Theatre Arts in 1999.
At SOU, Mr. Staver worked as technical director and scenic designer for numerous productions including Born Yesterday, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Cementville, Voice of the Prairie, Goodnight Desdemona, Goodmorning Juliet, and Night of the Iguana. He later interned at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland in the spring of 1999 and worked for the festival during the 1999 season. He was selected as the festival's technical director and assistant designer for the OSF Exhibit Center during the 2000 season. After completing one year of the MFA program in Scenic Design at the University of Washington, Jeffrey was on leave while designing sets for several productions in Portland.
Mr. Staver enjoyed music, snowboarding, mountaineering, and ran in the Hood to Coast race several times.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Janice Staver of The Dalles.; a sister, Jennifer (Staver) Hohenlohe and her husband Paul of Corvallis; a brother, Jonathan Staver of Seattle, Wash.; his grandparents, Ruth and Cecil Staver of Fort Collins, Colo.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Edward Carlisle Blackwell
Edward Carlisle Blackwell, 83, of Medford died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001 at Providence Medford Medical Center. Arrangements are in care of Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory in Ashland.
Edward C. Blackwell
Edward C. Blackwell, 83, died Nov. 28, 2001 at Providence Medical Center in Medford. A military graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2001 at the Hargadine Cemetery in Ashland.

Mr. Blackwell was born Oct. 16, 1918 in Phoenix, Ariz. He attended Ashland schools and spent all of his adult life in Ashland and Medford areas. He was an independent building contractor and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a niece, Linda Bowers; four nephews, Robert L. Blackwell, James E. Blackwell, Donald L. Blackwell, and John D. Blackwell; and a sister-in-law, Vivian B. Blackwell.
Arrangements were conducted by Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory in Ashland.
Dean Thornton Hunter
Dean Thornton Hunter, 80, of Ashland died Friday, November 30, 2001. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home in Ashland. Rev. John Braund, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.
Dean was born August 6, 1922 in Kemmerer, Wyo., to William and Thornton Hunter. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II with time spent in Australia and the Far East. He graduated from the University of California in Berkeley in 1951, majoring in Geology. Mr. Hunter worked for two major oil companies as a geophysicist for 35 years, spending time in Indonesia and Trinidad.
In 1950, Mr. Hunter married Pauline Miriam Ahelman, who survives.
Survivors other than his wife include his brother William of Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and James.
Helen G. Farmer
Helen G. Farmer, 94, of Ashland, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001 at Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland.
Private interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland.
Mrs. Farmer was born April 28, 1907 in Kirksville, Mo., a daughter of Edward was Zoa Lita (Kigging) Pulse. Her family moved to Ashland from Montana when she was a teen-ager.
She graduated from Ashland High School.
On Jan. 31, 1925 at Jacksonville, she married Ivan Farmer, who preceded her in death in 1979.
Survivors include her sons, Jack Farmer of Medford and Jerry Farmer; and two grandchildren.
Arrangements are in care of Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.
Allene Ruth Wolfe
Allene Ruth Wolfe of Eugene, and formerly of Ashland, died Nov. 16, 2001 of natural causes. She was 80.
Mrs. Wolfe was born Jan. 10, 1921 in Neptune, N.J., to William and Amelia Seifert Gundaker. She married Arnold Wolfe in San Francisco on Aug. 6, 1944.
She graduated from high school, and Wolfe was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling, sewing and crafts. She especially enjoyed her family.
Mrs. Wolfe lived in Spokane from 19945 until 1957, when she moved to Ashland.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Ashland.
She moved to Eugene in 1990.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Carolyn Pennington of Eugene and Glenda Hale of Gresham; a sister, Mildred Weissenburger of Point Pleasant, N.J.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A family celebration of life is planned. England's Eugene Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Lisa (Elizabeth) Ganger
Lisa (Elizabeth) Ganger, 45, of Medford, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001 at home. The memorial service was held at today, Dec. 8, 2001 at Table Rock Fellowship in Medford. Pastor Tom Sabens will officiate. Private interment was scheduled to take place in Siskiyou Memorial Park in Medford.

Mrs. Ganger was born Feb. 5, 1956 in Frederick, Md., to Dale Wilson and Stella Elizabeth (Bowen) Jenkins. She received a bachelor of arts degree in literature from American University in Washington, D.C. She moved to Medford in 1979 and on April 11, 1981 in Medford she married Frederick Ganger.
She enjoyed reading, watercolors, dogs and music.
Survivors include her husband Fred; daughter Rebekah Ganger; son Ethan Ganger; mother Liz Jenkins; father Dale Jenkins; brothers Paul and Ken Jenkins; sisters Becky Jenkins and Nancy O'Brien; and two grandchildren.
