Buck C. Short
The cryptside service for Buck C. Short will be at noon Monday in Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Mr. Short, 82, of Medford, died Tuesday (Oct. 13, 1998) in Coos Bay.
He was born July 28, 1916, in Tucson, Ariz.
In June 1960, in Reno, he married Wanda M. Richmond, who died in 1994. After marrying they moved to Medford from Reno.
Mr. Short was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver.
He served a short time in the armed forces before being honorably discharged.
Mr. Short was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include two daughters, Laurie Atto, Medford, and Debbie Montes, in Arizona; a son, Joseph, Medford; a stepdaughter, Julie Earley, in Texas; a stepson, Charles March, in California; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son and a granddaughter.
Friends may pay their respects from 9 a.m. to noon Monday in Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou Chapel, Medford.
Dorothy F. Allen
The memorial service for Dorothy F. Allen will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Chapel, Medford. Earl Best will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Allen, 84, of Medford, died Wednesday (Oct. 14, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Dorothy Finis Griswold on Jan. 26, 1914, in Colton, Calif.
In 1941, in Arizona, she married Carlos W. Allen, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Allen was a practical nurse in home care.
She did volunteer work at the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary, with foster care children and Special Olympics.
Mrs. Allen enjoyed crafts, floral designs making clothes and cooking.
Survivors include three sons, William, Robert, and Ronald; two daughters, Linda L. Dahl and Cheryl A. Meeds; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra; three sisters, and a brother.

Inez Iola Glines
The funeral for Inez Iola Glines will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brookhurst Building, Medford. Joseph Zimmer will officiate. Private interment will be in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mrs. Glines, 73, of Central Point, died Thursday (Oct. 15, 1998) in Phoenix.
She was born Inez Iola Graham on Nov. 29, 1924, in Wendover, Wyo.
On Nov. 18, 1941, in Tacoma, Wash., she married Jack O. Glines, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Glines was a longtime Central Point resident. She moved to Phoenix five years ago.
She enjoyed sewing and baking, tending her flowers and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include five daughters, Jaci White, Central Point, Kelly Zimmer, Medford, Jill Redmond, Ashland, Judy Altman, Callahan, Fla., and Rebecca Carter, Sterling, Va.; two sons, Mike, Modesto, Calif., and Tim, Oakhurst, Calif.; two brothers, two sisters; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

William Dobbyn
William Dobbyn, 87, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday (Oct. 13, 1998) at the Medford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. No service is planned.
He was born March 30, 1911, in Fortuna, Calif.
Mr. Dobbyn lived in Coos Bay before moving to Medford 56 years ago.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and football.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Clare Dobbyn, Jacksonville; and a daughter, Donna Gayette, Portola Valley, Calif. A sister, Lelah Christian, preceded him in death.

Robert Porter Hart
Robert Porter Hart, 89, of Phoenix, died Monday (Oct. 12, 1998) at his home. No service is planned.

He was born Jan. 24, 1909, in Breckenridge, Texas.
On April 29, 1933, in Astoria, he married Florence Rohde, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1956 from Astoria.
A Realtor, he owned Bob Hart Real Estate in Medford from 1959 until his retirement in 1988.
Mr. Hart was a Shriner and a longtime member of Rogue Valley Country Club. He also enjoyed golf.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Helen Cox, Redding, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Hubert Crawford
The celebration of life service for Hubert Crawford will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Bethel Assembly of God, 1115 Lane St., Yreka, Calif. Pastor Mike Suski will officiate. Interment will be in the Jacksonville Cemetery.
The Rev. Crawford, 84, of Medford, died Tuesday (Oct. 13, 1998) at his home.
He was born May 23, 1914, in Board Camp, Ark.
On July 11, 1937, in Oklahoma, he married Naomi Walker, who survives. They moved to Medford six months ago from Yreka.
The Rev. Crawford was an Assembly of God minister for 68 years in various communities, including Lakeview, Coos Bay and Reno. He retired in 1982.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, jokes and reading.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five daughters, Joan Allbritton and Donna A. Crawford, both Medford, Lois V. Myatt, Ukiah, Calif., Bonnie N. Wong, San Jose, Calif., and Gloria K. Cavallaro, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sons, Wendell H., Miami, Okla., and Danny D., Reno; a brother, Paul, Lakeview; two sisters, Effie Eaves, Roseburg, and Irene Cogburn, Arlington, Texas; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Guy, Poole, El and Warren; two sisters, Gay Cummings and Ruby Cogburn; and a granddaughter.

Harriet Mamie Wangen
The memorial service for Harriet Mamie Wangen will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity Episcopal Church, Ashland. Private inurnment will be in Albert Lea, Minn.
Mrs. Wangen, 87, of Ashland, died Wednesday (Sept. 30, 1998) at Linda Vista Care Center.

She was born Harriet Hansen on July 31, 1911, in Albert Lea.
On July 4, 1929, she married Selmer "Sam" O. Wangen, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wangen lived in Albert Lea most of her life and lived for a short time in Canadian, Texas.
She was a bookkeeper for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Minnesota for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Wangen was a Red Cross volunteer for many years and enjoyed gardening, painting and fishing.
Survivors include a son, William "Bill," Ashland; a daughter, Charlotte "Syd" Wirth, Albert Lea; two sisters, Isabel Bowman, Chula Vista, Calif., and Charlotte Watry, Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Lorraine C. Baker
Lorraine C. Baker, 68, of Rogue River, died Sept. 13, 1998, at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A private service was held.

She was born Lorraine Slayton on Sept. 4, 1930, in Paso Robles, Calif.
In 1962, in Las Vegas, she married Douglas R. Baker, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1964.
Mrs. Baker was active in the Red Cross and Girl Scouts.
Her interests included gardening, cooking, and caring for animals.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Marilyn L. Baker and Cynthia M. Baker, both Phoenix; three sons, Kenneth W., Medford, Larry, Paso Robles, and Leslie, Ely, Nev.; her mother, Edna Slayton, Paso Robles; a sister, Ida Mae Volpi, Paso Robles; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Her father, Edgar Slayton, preceded her in death.
