Faye A. Thompson
The funeral for Faye A. Thompson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Conger-Morris Chapel, Medford.
Mrs. Thompson, 88, of Shady Cove, died Tuesday (Oct. 20, 1998) in Shady Cove.
Arrangements are being handled by Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.
John Alfred Flores
The memorial service for John Alfred Flores will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Anne's Catholic Church, Grants Pass. The Rev. Todd Molinari will officiate. Interment will follow in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Flores, 77, of Grants Pass, died Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
He was born May 10, 1921, in Kapaia, Kauai, Hawaii.
On Feb. 15, 1958, in Reno, he married Jenny M. Caruso, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1970 from San Jose, Calif.
Mr. Flores retired from the American Can Co. In 1993, he retired from Grants Pass School District.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Mr. Flores enjoyed rose gardening and Grants Pass High School and University of Oregon football.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, John Florio, Grants Pass; three daughters, Denise Tauriainen and April Flores, both Grants Pass, and Roxanne Zirkle, Pahrump, Nev.; a brother, Joe; five sisters, Rosie, Pat, Emily, Flora and Bobbie; and five grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 4 to 7 p.m. today at St. Anne's Catholic Church.

Marjorie E. Eby
The funeral for Marjorie E. Eby will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. The Rev. Steve Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Scenic Hills Memorial Park.
Mrs. Eby, 83, of Ashland, died Thursday (Oct. 15, 1998) at her home.
She was born Oct. 8, 1915, in Iona Station, Ontario, Canada.
She married John W. Dundas in 1939 and moved to La Crescenta, Calif. Mr. Dundas died in 1955.
On April 8, 1973, she married Harold Eby, who survives. They moved to Ashland in 1979.
Mrs. Eby was a school nurse in the Glendale, Calif., school district.
She was active in the First Presbyterian Church of La Crescenta.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, John Dundas, Ashland; two daughters, Patricia Niles, Tustin, Calif., and Jane Dundas, Greeley, Colo.; a brother, Arch MacPherson, Ontario, Canada; a sister, Katharine Teeple, Ontario; and eight grandchildren.

Don James Balcom
Don James Balcom, 75, of Medford, died Sunday (Oct. 18, 1998) at a Central Point foster care home. A private service is planned.

He was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Laramie, Wyo.
On Oct. 10, 1946, in Camas, Wash., he married Mary Andersen, who survives.
Mr. Balcom lived most of his life in Oregon City, moving to Hermiston in 1992. He moved to Medford in 1996.
Mr. Balcom owned and operated B & C Towing in Oregon City until his retirement in 1979.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Balcom was a life member of the Oregon City Elks Lodge. He enjoyed traveling, especially in his RV.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Terry Ann Lydall, Medford; a sister, Dorothy Fettis, Portland; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Margaret Beth Culy
The graveside service for Margaret Beth Culy will be at 11:15 a.m. Saturday in the Jacksonville Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Roth of the First Unitarian Church, Medford, will officiate. A memorial service will be held later.
Ms. Culy, 83, of Medford, died Saturday (Oct. 10, 1998) at her home.

She was born June 16, 1915, in Medford, a daughter of Allen and Bertha Daily Culy. She was a descendant of the Culy pioneer family, who homesteaded in the Steamboat area.
Ms. Culy was a child-care provider for many years in the Rogue Valley.
She was a member of the First Nazarene Church, where she also taught Sunday school for many years.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Culy Klein, Corvallis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Holland Beyers
The memorial Mass for Mary Holland Beyers was celebrated Oct. 19 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford.
Mrs. Beyers, 84, of Medford, died Wednesday (Oct. 14, 1998) in Medford.

She was born Mary Holland on Jan. 11, 1914, in Chicago, Ill.
Mrs. Beyers and her husband, Harold Beyers, moved to the Rogue Valley in 1977 from Chicago.
She retired from R.H. Donnelley Inc. of Chicago.
Mrs. Beyers was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also a member of St. Anne's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and Birthright. She enjoyed basketball.
Survivors include a sister, Catherine Selle, Medford; and a niece, Ginnie Deason, Medford. Her husband preceded her in death.

Donald O. Townsend
Donald O. Townsend, 93, of Medford, died Friday (Oct. 16, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
A private service will be held Wednesday in the Rogue Valley Manor Chapel. Pastor Don Hildebrand will officiate. Inurnment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.

He was born Feb. 21, 1905, in Challenge, Calif.
On July 10, 1931, in Los Angeles, he married Claire Mae Jeans, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1983 from San Francisco.
Mr. Townsend was an apprentice electrician for the city and county of San Francisco's Hetch Hetchy Water and Power Project. In 1952, he was promoted to general manager of the electricity department. He retired in 1965 after 43 years' service.
Mr. Townsend was a life member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Washington, D.C.; a life member and past master of Columbia Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite Bodies of Consistency, both in San Francisco; and a life member of Aahmes Shrine Temple, Livermore, Calif.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a brother, Melvin, in California. A sister, Grace B. Raudenbush, preceded him in death.

Joe B. Chisum
Friends and relatives of Joe B. Chisum will gather at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Janie Moore, 1950 Alamar, Medford.
Mr. Chisum, 69, of Medford, died Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Muldrow, Okla.
On May 20, 1951, in Mount Vernon, Wash., he married Alda M. Waldrop, who survives.
Mr. Chisum was a truck driver until his retirement. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 962.
Mr. Chisum enjoyed camping, boating and water skiing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Janie Moore, Medford; three sons, Allan R., Phoenix, George, Central Point, and Joe P., Roseburg; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A grandson preceded him in death.

Kenneth M. Stocks
The memorial service for Kenneth M. Stocks will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.
Mr. Stocks, 72, formerly of Medford, died Thursday (Oct. 15, 1998) in Coos Bay, where he was living.
