Eva G. Prunty
The funeral for Eva G. Prunty will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Prunty, 100, of Medford, died Monday (Oct. 19, 1998) at the Medford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
She was born Eva Russell on Dec. 19, 1897, in Greenville, Tenn.
In December 1953, in Jerome, Idaho, she married Guy Prunty, who died in 1971.
Mrs. Prunty moved to Medford a year ago from Jerome.
She was a member of the church circle at the Methodist Church in Jerome for more than 70 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Fern Minor and Naomi Longan, both Medford; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 11 siblings and a granddaughter.
Friends may pay their respects from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford.

Lillian Tinker
The memorial service for Lillian Tinker will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Medford First Baptist Church. Pastor David Croy will officiate. Private interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Tinker, 88, of Medford, died Tuesday (Oct. 20, 1998) at the Medford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.

She was born Lillian Jasbarro on Feb. 19, 1910, in Messina, Italy.
On Feb. 14, 1928, she married Loring Lee Tinker, who died in 1969.
Mrs. Tinker moved to the Rogue Valley in 1969 from Walnut Creek, Calif.
She was a member of the Medford First Baptist Church. For many years, she enjoyed being a volunteer foster grandparent with Jefferson School.
Survivors include a daughter, Roberta McKay, Medford; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Lorraine Stark
The memorial service for Dorothy Lorraine Stark will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Oregon Extension of Houghton College at Lincoln, 15125 Highway 66 (about 21 miles from Ashland). Sam Alvord will officiate.
Mrs. Stark, 64, of Ashland, died Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998) at her home.
She was born Dorothy Baum on Nov. 17, 1933, in San Diego, Calif.
On June 27, 1953, in La Mesa, Calif., she married Thomas Stark, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1972 from La Mesa.
Mrs. Stark was a volunteer with the Medford branch of Physicians for Social Responsibility. She also was a leader and volunteer with 4-H groups.
She enjoyed gardening and caring for and working with animals.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four sons, Richard and Timothy, both Medford, Christopher, Ashland, and Gary, San Marcos, Calif.; a daughter, Teresa Giacomni, Ashland; a brother, John Baum; three sisters, Barbara Alexander, Diane Slater and Christine Weber; and seven grandchildren.

Marjorie H. Mitchell
The memorial service for Marjorie H. Mitchell will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Rogue River Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Mrs. Mitchell, 88, of Rogue River, died Monday (Oct. 19, 1998) in an automobile accident in Central Point.

She was born Marjorie Helen Kendall on Oct. 9, 1910, in North Dakota.
On June 19, 1930, in Battle Ground, Wash., she married Otto Mitchell, who died in 1997.
Mrs. Mitchell moved to Rogue River in 1977 from Terrebonne.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Wagner, Rogue River; a son, Bob, Rogue River; two brothers, Ed Kendall, Rogue River and Jack Kendall, Grants Pass; a sister, Marion Kingsbury, Sonora, Calif.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A sister and two brothers preceded her in death.

Lavonne Arrants
Lavonne Arrants, 51, of Williams, died Sept. 29, 1998, at her home in Williams. A private service was held in O'Brien.

She was born June 23, 1947, in Grants Pass, and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1965.
Most recently she worked at Crossroads School for teens in Medford.
She enjoyed reading and being a mother figure to many.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna D'Angelo, Medford, and Jolene LeTourneau, Grants Pass; a son, Darrell, Portland; her parents, Charles and Cleo Arrants, Grants Pass; a brother, Steve Arrants, Grants Pass; three sisters, Caryn Hayes, Grants Pass, and Nieva Bordeau and Agnes Arrants, both Bakersfield, Calif.; four grandchildren; and her companion, James Wiesend, Williams. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey LeTourneau in 1994.

Faye Ann Thompson
The funeral for Faye Ann Thompson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Conger-Morris Chapel, Medford. Interment will be Monday in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, Calif.
Mrs. Thompson, 88, of Shady Cove, died Tuesday (Oct. 20, 1998) at her home.
She was born Faye Ann Abernathy on May 24, 1910, in Bokchito, Okla.
Mrs. Thompson moved to the Rogue Valley in 1964 from California.
She was a member of the Eagle Point Nazarene Church and Shady Cove Grange.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening and church activities.
Survivors include a son, Jerry, Shady Cove; a daughter, Chloe Gorzman, Cypress, Calif.; a brother, Harold Abernathy, Issaquah, Wash.; two sisters, Joyce Mimuto, Riverside, Calif., and Nancy, Whittier, Calif.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben J. Thompson, in 1970; two brothers; and three sisters.
Friends may pay their respects from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Conger-Morris Funeral Home, Medford.
Gretta B. Simmons
The funeral for Gretta Beatrice Simmons will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Lundberg's L.B. Hall Funeral Home, Grants Pass. Interment will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Pastor Ray Wiebe of the Fruitdale Community Church will officiate.
Mrs. Simmons, 84, of Grants Pass, died Monday (Oct. 19, 1998) at her daughter's home in Grants Pass.

She was born Gretta Trafford on Oct. 30, 1913, in Scranton, Iowa.
On June 17, 1939, in Arizona, she married George Simmons, who died in 1993.
Mrs. Simmons was a registered nurse for more than 40 years.
She moved to Grants Pass in 1970 from Santa Barbara, Calif.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Wills, Eagle Point, and Ruth Harper, Central Point; two sons, Ken, Grants Pass, and Howard, Paxton, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
