David James Frost
The funeral service for David James Frost will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hull & Hull Chapel in Grants Pass. Private interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Bob Wood will officiate.
Mr. Frost, 35, of Medford, died of a brain tumor Tuesday (Oct. 27, 1998) at his home.

He was born June 1, 1963, in Grants Pass and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1981.
In 1982, in Grants Pass, he married Sandra Britt, who survives.
Mr. Frost managed two Jean's Kitchen & Pie Shops until 1988. He then moved to Portland, where he was the department head of a retail store until 1994. He returned to Medford in 1998.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1981 to 1984.
Mr. Frost was a member of Crossroads Church in Portland.
He enjoyed golfing, the outdoors, sports, and watching football on television.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Kyle Frost, Medford; a daughter, Breann Frost, Medford; a brother, Doug, Grants Pass; three sisters, Donna Komorrow, Tigard, Diane Vineyard, Medford, and Denise Rush, Camas, Wash.; and his mother, Dorothy Jean, Grants Pass. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger P. Frost.
Friends may pay their respects from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, Grants Pass.
Elizabeth `Betty' Heilman
Elizabeth "Betty" Heilman, 66, of Medford, died Monday (Oct. 26, 1998) at her home. A memorial service was held Wednesday in the Central Valley Chapel, Central Point. Pastor David Humphreys of the Phoenix Church of God officiated.

She was born Elizabeth Hulse on Jan. 16, 1932, in Ryderwood, Wash.
On May 5, 1970, in Cottage Grove, she married Norel Heilman, who died in 1992.
She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1979 from Cottage Grove.
Mrs. Heilman owned and operated a dry cleaning business in Cottage Grove. After moving to Medford she worked at Kmart until her retirement.
Mrs. Heilman was a member of the Baptist church. She enjoyed needlepoint, embroidery, gardening and her pets, and was a member of the Better Breathers group.
Survivors include a son, Alfred Moore, Coos Bay; a sister, Sharon Mann, Medford; her father and stepmother, Alfred and Ethel Hulse, Phoenix; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her first husband, James Moore, Cottage Grove. She was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Donald Hulse.

Leon M. Dixon
The memorial service for Leon M. Dixon will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. Walt Whipkey of Worldwide Church of God and members of Veterans for Veterans will officiate.
Mr. Dixon, 97, of Medford, died Thursday (Oct. 22, 1998) at a local foster care facility.
He was born May 23, 1901 in Stoughton, Wis.
On April 21, 1940, in Hot Springs, Ariz., he married Lauriene Rayewske, who survives.
Mr. Dixon helped set up the Pratt and Whitney plant which produced fighter engines during World War II. Following the war, he owned and operated the Dixon Hotel in Milwaukee, Wis., and the Marine Supper Club in Ashland, Wis. He retired in 1966.
He served as a gunner's mate in the Navy during World War I.
Mr. Dixon was a member of the Worldwide Church of God.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodcrafts.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Jack, Rhinelander, Wis.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Aubry and Alden, and three sisters, Mabel, Myrtle and Edrice.

Tom F. Maxey
Tom F. Maxey, 84, of Medford, died Tuesday (Oct. 27, 1998) at his home. No services are planned.
He was born Jan. 25, 1914, in Leflore, Okla. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Redding in 1972.
Mr. Maxey married Margret Sullivan, who preceded him in death in 1977.
Mr. Maxey was a city bus driver in Long Beach, Calif. and Houston, Texas for 18 years. Most recently, he was self-employed in bicycle repair.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Suvivors include two daughters, Delores Trammal, Dallas, Texas, and Joy Maxey, Dallas, Ore.; a son, Phillip, Chico, Calif.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Dorthy C. Harmon
Dorthy Christine Harmon, 73, of Ashland, died Thursday (Oct. 22, 1998) at the Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland. A private service will be held Thanksgiving Day for Mrs. Harmon and her husband, Tom Harmon, who died Sept. 5, 1998.

She was born Dorthy Halford on Feb. 26, 1925, in Truman, Ark.
On May 19, 1944, in Charleston, S.C., she married Harl Tom Harmon. Soon after marrying, they moved to Bakersfield, Calif., where they lived until moving to the Rogue Valley in 1994.
Mrs. Harmon enjoyed sewing, reading and walking her dog, Loki.
Survivors include three daughters, Janis Stuck, Yreka, Calif., Peggy Bennion, San Francisco, Calif., and Sherrie Christy, Fort Jones, Calif.; a son, Robert L., Bakersfield; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Shirley Rae Frye
The funeral for Shirley Rae Frye will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Medford First Christian Church. The Rev. Tim Tiffany will officiate. Interment will follow in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mrs. Frye, 63, of Medford, died Sunday (Oct. 25, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Shirley Rae Dickinson on March 21, 1935, in Vancouver, Wash.
Mrs. Frye worked in the Jackson County accounting department. Later she was employed as a caregiver.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and enjoyed cribbage.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Emmens, Medford; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carlene Greer; and a sister, Donna Watson.

Mary E. Finstrom
Friends of Mary E. Finstrom will gather Thursday morning at her home in Medford.
Mrs. Finstrom, 88, died Wednesday (Oct. 21, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
She was born Mary E. Weikel on Nov. 15, 1909, in Lansdale, Pa.
During World War II, she served with the American Red Cross in the European Theater. She worked for the United States Foreign Service in China from June 1946 to December 1947, sailing home by tramp steamer from Hong Kong to New York. In 1949, she was assigned to Buenos Aires with the Foreign Service.
On April 22, 1950, in Montevideo, Uruguay, she married Carl W. Finstrom, who died in 1975. At the time of their marriage he was operations manager of the Moore-McCormack Steamship Line.
The Finstroms bought land in the Upper Rogue Valley in 1953 and settled permanently in the valley in 1959. After their property was covered by Lost Creek Lake in 1967, they moved to the rural Griffin Creek area in Medford.
In the 1970s, Mrs. Finstrom earned two bachelor's degrees at Southern Oregon College.
She enjoyed country life, her peacocks, duplicate bridge and playing the piano.
Survivors include a niece, Sally Ann Messner, Birdsboro, Pa.; and a nephew, Barry Katzin, Birdsboro.

Daniel E. Falvey
Daniel E. Falvey, 88, of Eagle Point, died Oct. 18, 1998, in Central Point. No service is planned.
He was born Sept. 10, 1910, in Goldfield, Nev.
On Sept. 25, 1954, in Los Angeles, he married Virginia, who died in 1993.
Mr. Falvey moved to the Rogue Valley in 1967 from Running Springs, Calif.
He was a camp ranger for Boy Scouts of America in Running Springs and active in Order of the Arrow in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
After moving to Oregon he was active in the grange.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Smith, Banning, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Susan Newberry, Medford; a stepson, Craig Pine, Eagle Point; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife.
