Burton Albert Staus

The graveside service for Burton Albert Staus will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Eagle Point National Cemetery. Chaplain Robert Murphy of the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary will officiate.

Mr. Staus, 80, of Central Point, died Thursday (Oct. 29, 1998) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 2825 East Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born Nov. 14, 1917, in Greenleaf, Kan.

On Feb. 5, 1966, in Virginia City, Nev., he married Barbara Darlene Eskridge, who survives.

Mr. Staus served as an aviation ordnance 3rd Class with the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1961 from Crescent City, Calif.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Roma Carroll, Grants Pass; four sons, Lee Staus, Sacramento, Calif., John Aaron, Shady Cove, Butch Wood, Central Point, and Mark Wood, Medford; nine grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services, Medford.

Arthur James Young

Arthur James Young, 50, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday (Oct. 27, 1998) at his home. A private service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1207, Medford, OR 97501.

He was born July 26, 1948, in Las Vegas, Nev.

He moved to the Rogue Valley 25 years ago from Southern California.

Mr. Young was a tree planter for 10 years with Jack Heart Reforestation.

He enjoyed snow skiing, carpentry and the outdoors, and was known for his sense of humor.

Survivors include his companion, Marie Anstine, Jacksonville; two sons, Ivan and Arlo, both in California; a daughter, Challee Young, in California; a foster son, Layne Anstine, Jacksonville; his mother, Marcella Young, Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Dan, in New Zealand; and a sister, Theresa Young Scalf, Carnation, Wash. A brother, Ron, died in 1990.

Stanley T. Golembeski

The funeral Mass for Stanley Thomas Golembeski will be at 8 a.m. today at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Ashland. Interment will follow at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Golembeski, 86, of Ashland, died Wednesday (Oct. 28, 1998) at Hearthstone in Medford.

He was born Nov. 1, 1911, in Pittsburgh, Pa.

On Feb. 11, 1956, at Kaiserslautern, Germany, he married Marie Biskup, who survives.

Mr. Golembeski served in the U.S. Army during World War II and continued his military career following the war, retiring after 22 years. He then worked in the Civil Service for 12 years.

He came to the Rogue Valley from Richmond, Calif., in 1978.

Mr. Golembeski enjoyed traveling and reading.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Christina (Christel) Smith, Beaverton; a brother, Henry, Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sisters, Helen Malinaric, Pittsburgh, and Josephine Nichols, Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Shirley D. Repin

The funeral for Shirley Delores Repin will be at 2 p.m. today at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home in Ashland. Pastor Art Versteeg of Grace Christian Fellowship will officiate. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland.

Mrs. Repin, 63, of Talent, died Tuesday (Oct. 27, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubs Cancer Center, Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, 2825 Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Shirley Barrett on June 25, 1935, in Corvallis, to Robert and Delores Barrett. She was raised in Sisters and in Fresno, Calif. She moved to the Rogue Valley in the late 1940s.

Mrs. Repin worked in housekeeping at Hearthstone and Providence Hospital.

She was a member of the Talent Methodist Church, the Ashland Elks, and the Eagles.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, painting and ceramics.

Survivors include two sons, Robert D. Ayers, Milton-Freewater, and Mark Fidler, Honolulu, Hawaii; a daughter, Candy D. Fidler, Honolulu; a brother, Jack Barrett, Talent; a sister, Erlene Watson, Talent; her mother, Delores Barrett, Talent; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Teresa Repin.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home.

Bertha Lee Waelty

The graveside service for Bertha Lee Waelty will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Mrs. Waelty, 78, of White City, died Monday (Oct. 26, 1998) at her home.

She was born Bertha Lee Cook on Oct. 18, 1920, in Almyra, Ark.

On April 20, 1961, in Medford, she married Henry Waelty, who survives.

Mrs. Waelty was a waitress and cook for many years.

She enjoyed ceramics and Tri Kim (painting on clothing).

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four daughters, Maria Barriga, Medford, Patty Quintero, White City, Beverly Stivers, White City, and Brenda Lee Mitchell, Arkansas; two sons, Raymond Mitchell, White City, and Ronnie Mitchell, Selma; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Norma Jones and Bobbie Jennings; two sons, Eugene Mitchell and "Tiger" Clifton Mitchell, and two brothers.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 550 Business Park Drive, Medford.

Monika Greta Reeves

The memorial service for Monika Greta Reeves will be at 4 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, 456 W. Pine St., Central Point. The Rev. Marion Clarkson will officiate.

Mrs. Reeves, 56, of Central Point, died Tuesday (Oct. 27, 1998) at her home.

She was born Monika Iten on Jan. 12, 1942, in Germany.

Mrs. Reeves was a receptionist at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She enjoyed bowling and camping.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard Reeves, Grants Pass; two daughters, Debbie Reeves, Medford, and Virginia Reeves, Portland; two sons, Leonard Jr., Phoenix, Ariz., and Loren, Sherman Oaks, Calif.; her parents, Albert and Teresa Iten, Aberdeen, Md.; and six grandchildren.

Florence Shreve

Florence Shreve, 81, of Central Point, died Oct. 20, 1998, at a local foster care home.

She was born Florence Miller on Feb. 27, 1917, in Los Angeles, and raised in San Bernardino, Calif.

She graduated from San Bernardino College.

Mrs. Shreve was a journalist for her college newspaper and the San Bernardino Daily Sun.

She was an office manager at George Air Force Base, retiring after 25 years service.

Mrs. Shreve was a charter member of the Apple Valley Science of Mind Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Diane Howard, Carole Boom and Pam Gulley; two sisters, Dorothy Clemmons and Mary Caruth; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral, Medford.

Betty June Willis

The memorial service for Betty June Willis will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Charles Didato of College Heights Baptist Church, Grants Pass, will officiate.

Mrs. Willis, 67, of Medford, died Monday (Oct. 26, 1998) at her home.

She was born Betty June Eaton on June 8, 1931, in Reedley, Calif.

On Sept. 16, 1973, in Venice, Fla., she married Walter S. Willis, who survives.

Mrs. Willis owned and operated a retail dress shop.

She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Florida.

Mrs. Willis enjoyed gourmet cooking, crafts, reading and fishing. She was an avid bunco player.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Jeffry R. Ice, Medford, and Bernard Faircloth, Venice, Fla.; two brothers, Albert Eaton, Eagle Point, and Carlos H. Alviso, Reedley, Calif.; two sisters, Alberta Hall, Grants Pass, and Arlene Davis, Fallbrook, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
