Douglas Jay Simpson
The memorial service for Douglas Jay Simpson will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Pastor Rick Cohen of the Applegate Christian Fellowship will officiate.
Mr. Simpson, 42, of Medford, died Thursday (Oct. 29, 1998) in Jacksonville.
Born Oct. 28, 1956, in Elgin, Ill., he moved to the Rogue Valley with his family in 1967.
He was married to Melissa Erskine, who survives.
Mr. Simpson attended Crater High School, and served three years in the Marine Corps. He was a licensed real estate agent who had worked for Larry Meyer and Ramsey Real Estate. He also had worked as a purchasing agent for Derex and other firms.
In additions to his wife, survivors include sons Gavin and Garrett, both of Medford; parents Phyllis and James Simpson, Medford; and brother Rusty, Central Point.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael, earlier this year.

Irma Pauline Lawrence
The memorial service for Irma Pauline Lawrence will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 at White City Christian Church. Lyle McCaw of Rogue Valley Christian Church will officiate.
Mrs. Lawrence, 67, of Medford, died Thursday (Oct. 29, 1998) at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Royal Neighbors of America.
She was born Pauline Sumner on Nov. 11, 1930, in Colorado Springs, Colo., and lived in the Rogue Valley for 45 years. She loved bowling, traveling and outdoor activities.
Survivors include her daughters, Darlene Thompson, Central Point, and Charlene Soule, Klamath Falls; a sister, Louise Jones, Eugene; and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Lawrence.

Frank L. Fallon
No service is planned for Frank L. Fallon, 75, of Ashland, who died Friday (Oct. 30, 1998) at Ashland Community Hospital.
He was born on June 21, 1923, in Boston. Mr. Fallon served in the U.S. Army during World II. He was a circus booking agent for Clyde Beatty, Cole Brothers and many other circus and ice shows, retiring in 1975.
He moved from Sarasota, Fla., to the Rogue Valley in 1991.
He was a member of Showfolks of Sarasota, Circus Fans of America, and Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed golf.
Survivors include his daughter, Lee F. Marlin, Las Vegas; caregiver and daughter-in-law, Dawn Fallon, Ashland; former wife, Gloria Walker, Lompoe, Calif.; sisters, Helen Francolini and Marie Giblin, Westboro, Mass.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Fallon, in 1986, and a son, Dr. Michael Fallon, in 1990.
Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives.
Donald Ronald Rutter
The memorial service for Donald Ronald Rutter will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Memory Gardens Chapel, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford. The Rev. Earl Best of Jacksonville will officiate.
Mr. Rutter, 90, of Medford, died Friday (Oct. 30, 1998) at his home. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.
He was born on Aug. 13, 1908, in Peck, Idaho. In Walla Walla, Wash., on Sept. 25, 1928, he married Virginia M. Jorgensen. She died in 1996.
Mr. Rutter was a line foreman and assistant safety director for Pacific Power & Light for 37 years before his retirement.
He had lived in the Rogue Valley for the past 52 years, moving here from Ryderwood, Wash. He was a logger and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and feeding birds. He was an avid rock hound.
Survivors include a son, Donald C., and daughters Barbara Alexander and Margaret "Peggy" Baxter, all of Medford; a brother, Clifford, Brookings; a sister, Joanne Knutson, Roseburg; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Leo, William R., Peter and Jamesr.
Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
Fred Boelter
No service will be held for Fred Boelter, 89, of White City, who died Wednesday (Oct. 28, 1998) at his home.
Mr. Boelter was born on Dec. 13, 1908 in Amherst, Wis. On Nov. 15, 1930, in Antiago, Wis., he married Beatrice Corriveau.
He moved to the Rogue Valley from Phoenix, Ariz., and had lived here for more than 25 years.
He was a carpenter by trade and after his retirement continued to help others build and remodel their homes and other structures. He enjoyed writing and was a member of the Senior's Writers Club.
He was musically inclined and played several instruments. While living in Wisconsin, he was part of a band and also played the violin with the Osh Kosh Symphony.
He enjoyed fishing and was an avid rock hound. He volunteered at the Central Point Rock Museum.
Survivors include a sister, Lucille Henderson of Osh Kosh, Wis.

Mamie D. Roswell
The funeral for Mamie D. Roswell will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2 at Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point. Pastor Honn of Assembly Church of God in Riddle will officiate. Graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at the Riddle cemetery.
Mrs. Roswell, 94, of White City, died Friday (Oct. 30, 1998) at her home.
She was born on Dec. 12, 1903, in Simms, Texas. On Oct. 28, 1922, she married James Henry Roswell in the county of Bowie Bassetts, Ark. He died in 1968.
She lived in Texarkana, Texas, until 1945, then moved to Los Angeles. In 1947 she moved to John Day and in 1952 she moved to Riddle. She moved to White City in 1968 and lived there until her death. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Mrs. Roswell is survived by a daughter, Ima Lurene Roswell, White City; and sons Charles Nelm Roswell, Palisade, Colo., Ottis Henry Roswell, of Layton, Utah, Curtis Wayne Roswell, Medford, and Calvin Herman Roswell, Central Point; a brother, Macie Durham, DeRidder, La.; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Otis Ervin Roswell, and five brothers.

Margie H. Szentesi
The memorial service for Margie Holloway Szentesi will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Medford First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Joyce DeGraaff will officiate.
Mrs. Szentesi, 55, of Medford, died Tuesday (Oct. 27, 1998) at her home.

She was born Margie Ann Holloway on July 14, 1943, in Velasco, Texas, which is now Freeport. She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1961, attended Sam Houston State University for two years and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1966. Later she did graduate work at Tulane University in New Orleans, La.
After her junior year of college she joined the Peace Corps and spent two years in Colombia working on health projects. Later she was a Peace Corps recruiter.
She lived in West Berlin, Germany, for four years, returning to Huntsville in 1974 to gain teaching certification. She taught briefly in several Texas school districts.
While on vacation in Canada she met Alex Szentesi and they were married Aug. 4, 1980, in Ashland.
The couple have owned and operated Total Camera in Medford since 1980.
Mrs. Szentesi was a world traveler and also enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a sister, Jan Holloway Micklo, North Andover, Mass. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Holloway.

Lucile McKemie
Lucile McKemie, 90, formerly of Medford, died Sunday (Oct. 25, 1998) in Portland. Her home was in Beaverton. No service is planned.

She was born Lucile Kruger on May 29, 1908, in Fresno, Calif.
Mrs. McKemie graduated from the University of California in 1930.
On Dec. 31, 1932, she married William McKemie, who died in 1963.
A retired school teacher, Mrs. McKemie had taught at Jacksonville School. The family lived on West Main Street in Medford for 21 years.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Ken, Pacific City, and Ron, North Plains; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
