Jeffrey (Jeff) George Armson
Jeffrey (Jeff) George Armson, 41, formerly of Ashland, died of natural causes Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001. Private family services were held. Memorial contributions may be made to The Nature Conservancy, 821 SE 14th Ave., Portland, Ore. 97214, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Marie Elizabeth Furrer
Marie Elizabeth Furrer, 73, of Ashland died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001 at Ashland Community Hospital. The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001 at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home in Ashland. Rev. Michael Powell of First Methodist Church will officiate. Private interment will be in Stearns Cemetery in Talent, Ore. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Miss Furrer was born Sept. 21, 1928 in Wakefield, Kan., to Arthur E. and Mary L. (Kregar) Furrer. She came to the Rogue Valley in 1938 from Kansas. She was a member of the Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She worked seasonally for Associated Fruit and was a bookkeeper at First National Bank in Medford prior to retirement.
Survivors include several cousins, including Pat Hansen and Carol George, both of Vancouver, Wash. She was preceded in death by her father in 1939 and her mother in 1991.

Geraldine M. Etters
Geraldine M. Etters, 81, of Ashland died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001 at Ashland Community Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001 at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home in Ashland. Pastor Steve Schmelzer of Joy Christian Fellowship in Medford will officiate. Private interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford.
Mrs. Etters was born May 26, 1920 in Coopertown, Okla., to Claude and Deta Mae (Follmar) Callen. She lived in the Rogue Valley for more than 50 years, including 36 years in Ashland.
She worked as a real estate broker in both California and Oregon. She also managed the former Sunshine Nursing Home in Ashland. She was a minister of the Pentecostal Church of God. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and houseplants.
Survivors include her son, Terry Etters of Klamath Falls; her daughter, Carol Walker of Medford; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Harry Merle Henry
Harry Merle Henry, 77, of Phoenix died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001 at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001 at the Park Street Church of Christ in Ashland. Greg Weston, Minister, will officiate. Private inurnment will be in Deschutes Memorial Gardens in Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Park Street Church of Christ, P.O. Box 763, Ashland, Ore. 97520.
Mr. Henry was born June 7, 1924 in Ashland, the son of Carl August Henry and the former Minnie Larsen. His grandfather homesteaded the Henry Mountain area of the Dead Indian Plateau, emigrating from Germany directly to Jackson County in the mid-1860s.
Mr. Henry was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army in the European Theatre, Rhineland, Central Europe. He was a rifleman in the 65th Infantry Division and received the American Theatre Operations Service Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and AR 600-68 Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on February 14, 1946.
He grew up in Ashland and, after the war, worked for Willamette Industries in Bend as a forklift operator. Later, in Dallas, Texas, he worked for Palm Harbor Homes and finally for Magna Homes of Ennis, Texas.
Mr. Henry was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and gardening. He and his wife enjoyed traveling around the U.S. together, as well as family activities such as canning fruit and caring for elderly parents. He was also an active member of the Park Street Church of Christ in Ashland.
Survivors include his wife, Harriet Jean Henry of Phoenix.; two sons, Dana Merle Henry and Wesley Earl Henry, both of Los Angeles; three step-sons, Daniel Stephens of Ashland, Gene Lyles of Sebastopol, Calif., and Lonny Clark of Bend; three step-daughters, Sandra Foster of Dallas, Texas, Deborah LaFlamme of Sixes, Ore., and Nicki Fagin of Sebastopol, Calif.; his sister, Mary Jean Zillman of Astoria.; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl J. Henry, and his sister, Pearl Haldeman.

Irv Korn
Memorial services for Irv Korn, who died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001 at Temple Emek Shalom, 1081 E. Main St., Ashland. His burial and original services were already held elsewhere.
Edith W. Chase
Edith W. Chase, 92, of Medford died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001 at a local foster care home. Arrangements are under the direction of Hillcrest Mortuary in Medford.
David S. Hinton
David S. Hinton, 76, of Talent died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001 at home. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001 at the Talent Friends Church, 50 Talent Ave. Pastor David Howell will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Hospice, 1600 E. McAndrews Rd., Medford, Ore. 97504.

Mary Ann Catherine Mahoney
Mary Ann Catherine Mahoney, 78, of Ashland died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001 at her home. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2001 at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, 987 Hillview Dr., Ashland. Rev. O.P. Gerald Buckley will officiate.
Mrs. Mahoney was born Nov. 10, 1923 in Hazelton, Iowa to Leroy Mahoney and Mary Burnham Mahoney. She went to high school in Venice, Calif., graduating in 1942. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1946. She was married in Seattle, Wash., in 1948 to her former spouse Arlo Joseph Dehnert.
She came to Ashland and Central Point in 1978. She worked with the Hospice Home Health Care until retiring December 31, 1994.
She belonged to Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Ashland, Dominican Laity, The St. Vincent DePaul Society, Charismatic Prayer Group, and she was the editor of the "Hillhaven," the church newsletter.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Dehnert of California, and Christopher Dehnert of Scal Rock, Ore.; two daughters, Storyteller of Maui, Hawaii, and Mary Burris of Lorane, Ore.; two brothers, Ben Mahoney of Coos Bay., and Robert Mahoney of Niles, Mich.; a sister, Ella Anderson of Sun City, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Anneva, and two brothers, Andrew and Ira.

Corrine Iris Maxwell
Corrine Iris Maxwell, 91, of Medford died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001 at Farmington Square in Medford. Graveside memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2001 at the Ashland Cemetery. Pastor Lee Saunders of Covenant Life Ministries will officiate.
Corrine Iris was born January 22, 1910 in Ashland to Arthur and Dora Hubbard. She attended Ashland schools. She married George Maxwell on February 19, 1931 in Dallas, Ore. She moved from Dallas, Ore., to the Rogue Valley in 1996.
Mrs. Maxwell was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling, bingo, and outdoor activities like hunting and fishing.
Survivors include her brother, Delmar A. Hubbard of Central Point, Ore., and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Maxwell.
