Charles Edward Linker
Charles Edward Linker, 48, formerly of Medford, died Wednesday (Nov. 4, 1998) at his home in Prineville. A memorial service was held Nov. 7 at the Prineville Elks Lodge.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
He was born June 7, 1950, in Medford, a son of James and Susie Linker.
Mr. Linker graduated from Crater High School.
On July 27, 1973, he married Kimberly Rae Talbott, who survives.
Mr. Nokes served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a retired dental technician.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Nikki Tooley and Brandee Linker, both Medford; two brothers, Calvin, Rogue River, and Jim, Portland; four sisters, Janice Johnson, Central Point, Betty Moore, in California, Connie Bush, in Utah, and Loretta Brueland, Chico, Calif. A brother preceded him in death.

Clennie H. Johnston
The memorial service for Clennie H. Johnston will be held Wednesday at Howe Mortuary in Longmont, Colo. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Longmont.
Mrs. Johnston, 91, of Central Point, died Sunday (Nov. 8, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center, Medford.
She was born Clennie Hatfield on April 28, 1907, in Upton, Ky.
On March 8, 1925, in Greeley, Colo., she married John Edward Johnston, who preceded her in death. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1976 from Colorado.
Mrs. Johnston farmed with her husband for 34 years in Colorado. In 1952, the moved to Leadville, Colo., where they owned several restaurants.
She was active in many community organizations and enjoyed cooking, bowling and embroidery.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Margaret Pfaff, Central Point, and Barbara Mae Stewart, Grand Junction, Colo.; a son, Charles Edward, Victorville, Calif.; a brother, C.G. Hatfield, Louisville, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Albert; a brother, Paul Hatfield; a sister, Mary Alta Roberts; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bruce Henry Dickson
Bruce Henry Dickson, 41, formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Friday (Nov. 6, 1998) in Camp Verde, Ariz., where he was living. A memorial service will be held later.

He was born June 8, 1957, in Grants Pass.
Mr. Dickson was a disabled veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.
He volunteered at the VA Domiciliary in White City and held many volunteer positions working for disabled veterans.
Mr. Dickson was a lifetime resident of the Rogue Valley before moving to Arizona in June 1998.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Ella Lois and William Hensel, Grants Pass; his father, William L., Camp Verde; a brother, William R., Portland; two sisters, Donna L. Pierce, Grants Pass, and Denise A. Meyer, Medford; and numerous stepbrothers and stepsisters.

Paul A. Leaverton
The funeral for Paul A. Leaverton will be at noon Wednesday in the Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mr. Leaverton, 88, of Medford, died Sunday (Nov. 8, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.

He was born Nov. 11, 1909, in Minnesota.
On March 3, 1942, in Billings, Mont., he married Miranda "Randie" Clitty, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1951 from Billings.
Mr. Leaverton owned Paul's Barber Shop in Medford for more than 20 years.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Mr. Leaverton enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Leaverton, White City, and Peggy Sue Foy, Eugene; a son, Ronald, Reno, Nev.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay respects from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
H.E. Schmedemann
Visitation for Harvey Edwin Schmedemann Jr. will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Central Valley Chapel at 800 S. Front St.
Mr. Schmedemann, 70, of Central Point, died Saturday (Nov. 7, 1998) at the Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Kansas.
On Sept. 8, 1950, in Oklahoma, Schmedemann married Doris Garber, who survives.
He was in the U.S. Army until retiring in 1968. The Schmedemanns moved to the Rogue Valley in 1981 to open a Godfather's Pizza and a Pizza Hut. He retired from the pizza business in 1992. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Stanley Pearson will officiate.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Bruce, Wichita, Kan., Rick, Medford, and Randy, Valley Center, Kan.; two daughters, Tammy "Roe," Coos Bay, and Anita Grube, Central Point; and 11 grandchildren.

Edward A. Ekwall
A memorial service for Edward A. Ekwall will be at noon Tuesday at the Rogue Valley Christian Fellowship, 2373 S. Pacific Highway, Medford. Pastor Dave Booye will officiate.
Mr. Ekwall, 78, of Ashland, died Friday (Nov. 6, 1998) at his home.
He was born on Sept. 2, 1920, in Klamath Falls, the son of Axel and Jessie Ekwall. On Nov. 7, 1940, in Yreka, Calif., he married Martha Marie Wright, who survives.
Mr. Ekwall served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He worked as a truck driver and truck boss for McGrew Brothers until his retirement. For the past nine years, he worked for Lithia Motors.
His hobbies were his children and grandchildren.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 58 years, include two sons, Dennis Dean and Steven Edward, both of Medford; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth S. Kennedy
Private inurnment for Elizabeth S. Kennedy will be at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mrs. Kennedy, 87, of Medford, died Thursday (Nov. 5, 1998) at her home.
She was born Elizabeth Ervin on March 4, 1911, in Kansas City, Mo.
On March 26, 1949, in Rahway, N.J., she married James Richard Kennedy, who survives.
The Kennedys moved to the Rogue Valley 15 years ago from Louisiana.
She is survived by her husband.

Denise `Tina' Bruner
The memorial service for Denise "Tina" Bruner will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Central Point Assembly of God Church. Pastor Jeff Anderson will officiate.
Mrs. Bruner, 34, of Central Point, died Tuesday (Nov. 3, 1998) at her home.
She was born June 4, 1964, in Ukiah, Calif.
Mrs. Bruner was a cook for the Head Start Program.
She enjoyed rock hunting and sports.
Survivors include two sons, Jason Redlingshafer and Charles Redlingshafer, both Central Point; a daughter, Elizabeth Bruner, Central Point; her mother, Bernice Redlingshafer, Central Point; and a sister, Jonetta Platta, White City.

Kay Koelmel
The funeral service for Kay Koelmel will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Pastor Terry Lutrell of Calvary Assembly of God, Jacksonville, will officiate.
Graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mrs. Koelmel, 74, of Medford, died Tuesday (Nov. 3, 1998) at her home.
She was born May 19, 1924 in Johnstown, Penn. On Jan. 5, 1943, in Texas, she married John Koelmel, who died in 1986.
Mrs. Koelmel had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1957. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Medford, and later became a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville. She worked 12 years for Rogue Valley Packing, and enjoyed collecting antiques such as dolls, plates and spoons.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Porter and Diana Marsh, Medford; two sons, John Koelmel Jr., Oxnard, Calif., and David Koelmel, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Lee F. Lee, Hollywood, Calif.; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
