William `Bill' H. Funk
The memorial Mass for William "Bill" Henry Funk will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1131 N.E. 10th, Grants Pass. The Rev. Greg Moyes will officiate. A reception will follow in the Square Dance Center at the Josephine County Fairgrounds.
Interment will be in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Funk, 62, of Grants Pass, died Saturday (Nov. 7, 1998) in Union Creek.
He was born March 20, 1936, in Livingston, Mont.
On Aug. 4, 1956, in Bishop, Calif., he married Elaine Klinkner, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley 35 years ago.
Mr. Funk was a lumber grader for the Robert Dollar Co., which was later bought by Gregory Forest Products and is now Superior Lumber Co. He retired in 1991.
He served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959.
He was a member of the Lumber and Sawmill Workers Local 3009, St. Anne's Catholic Church, the National Rifle Association, Josephine County Sportsman Association and Gypsy Squares, and was an officer in the Oregon Federation of Square Dancers.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Kevin, Medford, and Chris, Salem; a brother, John, Folsom, Calif.; four sisters, Therese VanFleet, Stanton, Betty Palladino, San Jose, Calif., Genie Huboi, Los Gatos, Calif., and Mary Rawson, Markleeville, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, B.J., in 1993; and a brother, Bob.

Dominic C. Dioletto
Dominic Carmen Dioletto, 78, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 9, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.
He was born Dec. 5, 1919, in Los Angeles, Calif.
Mr. Dioletto lived most of his life in Stockton, Calif., before moving to Portland. He came to the Rogue Valley from Portland 20 years ago.
Mr. Dioletto was a barber and owned and operated his own shop.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Tamara Adams, Costa Mesa, Calif.; a son, Ronald, in California; a stepson, Larry Anderson, Brookings; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and his former wife, Wyn Dioletto, Brookings. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Dioletto; three brothers, Peter, John and Joseph; a sister, Catherine; and a stepson, Glen Anderson.

Kenneth Todd Elkins
The funeral for Kenneth Todd Elkins will be held Thursday at Farnstrom Mortuary in Independence. Interment will follow in Fircrest Cemetery, Monmouth.
Mr. Elkins, 36, formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Sunday (Nov. 8, 1998) from a heart attack in Roseburg. His home was in Monmouth.

He was born April 7, 1962, in Salem.
Mr. Elkins attended Crater High School. He moved to Monmouth 10 years ago from Southern Oregon.
Mr. Elkins owned and operated a computer repair service in Monmouth.
He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed the family farm and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Lynn Elkins, Grants Pass; a son, Warren Jeffery, Grants Pass; his mother, Hollis `Holly' Elkins, Monmouth; and a sister, Connie Elkins McKelvey, Portland.

Earl Abram Cougle
The memorial gathering for Earl Abram Cougle will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Fruitdale Grange, 960 Rogue River Highway, Grants Pass. Chaplain Delores Braumgardner will officiate.
Mr. Cougle, 86, of Williams, died Monday (Nov. 2, 1998) at Hearthstone.

He was born July 21, 1912, in Williams.
On April 6, 1936, in Vancouver, Wash., he married Lois Elliott, who survives.
Mr. Cougle worked in the timber industry.
He was a member of the Pomona and Fruitdale granges. His many interests included fishing, bowling and auto mechanics, and he enjoyed fixing things for people in his community.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Harry Cougle, Paul Cougle, and Dick Rayson, all Grants Pass; two daughters, Sandra Cougle, Medford, and Lorraine Walior, Salida, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and a great-granddaughter.

Frank Paul Kuoni
The memorial service for Frank Paul Kuoni will be at 1 p.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church, Fourth and Oakdale, Medford. The Rev. Louis Schneider will officiate.
Mr. Kuoni, 82, of Medford, died Sunday (Nov. 8, 1998) at his home.

He was born May 7, 1916, in Marysville, Kan.
In 1941, in Glendale, Calif., he married Elizabeth C. Troller, who died in 1995. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1948 from Glendale.
Mr. Kuoni was an electrician for Trowbridge Electric, now Sims Electric. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and recently was honored for 50 years of union service.
He operated a small family farm in Central Point.
Mr. Kuoni was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on the church council. In the 1960s, he was a member of the Central Point School District board. He enjoyed square dancing, camping, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Jim, Lincoln City, and John, Basking Ridge, N.J.; a daughter, Joanne McCann, San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Wallace, Marysville, Kan.; a sister, Helen Johnson, Marysville; and two grandsons.

Kenneth L. Nolte
The memorial service for Kenneth L. Nolte will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou, Medford. Chaplain Paul Hagedorn of Providence Medford Medical Center will officiate. Inurnment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mr. Nolte, 84, of Medford, died Sunday (Nov. 8, 1998) at his home.

He was born May 25, 1914, in Sheffield, Iowa.
Mr. Nolte grew up in Los Angeles, where he graduated from Fairfax High School.
On Dec. 8, 1936, in Medford, he married Ina Lotus Hesselgrave, who survives.
Mr. Nolte worked for MGM Studios in Hollywood, Calif., and worked on the soundtrack of "Gone With the Wind." He did carpentry work after moving to the Rogue Valley in 1948 from Los Angeles.
Mr. Nolte was a member of Roxy Ann Grange and National Grange, was soloist for Pomona Grange, and active in Contemporary Autos Association and the Medford YMCA. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and showing his 1951 Hudson.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Larry K., Medford, and Timothy J., Reno, Nev.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Ardis L. Nokes
Ardis L. Nokes, 92, formerly of Shady Cove, died Friday (Nov. 6, 1998) at a Troutdale care center. A private service will be held later. Inurnment will be in Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
She was born Ardis Rich on Oct. 30, 1906, in Boring. She was raised in the Pleasant Home area and attended school in Orient.
On May 29, 1924, in Pleasant Home, she married Raymond Nokes. They lived in Pleasant Home for a while before moving to Aims and starting their family.
Starting in the 1940s, she was camp cook for the Warm Springs Lumber Co. for 17 years. She then moved to Sandy, where she was a cook at Opal's Cafe for three years.
Mrs. Nokes then bought the Busy-Bee Cafe in Gresham, where her famous pies were very popular. After about five years, she was forced to close the business when Highway 26 was relocated.
After her husband's death in 1975, she retired and moved to Shady Cove to be close to family. She spent her retirement traveling, fishing and cooking. She attended the Trail Community Church.
Mrs. Nokes moved to Troutdale a few months ago from Shady Cove.
Survivors include a son, Wallace, Shady Cove; two brothers, Willis Rich, Beaverton, and Arthur Rich, Wenatchee, Wash.; two sisters, Arletha Cooper and Bertha Benson, both Portland; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Harvey, preceded her in death.

Dale W. Morris
The graveside service for Dale W. Morris will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Scenic Hills Cemetery, Ashland.
Mr. Morris, 90, formerly of Ashland, died Saturday (Nov. 7, 1998) at his home in Richland, Wash.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
He was born Feb. 5, 1908, in Rapid City, S.D. As a teenager, he moved with his parents to Denver, Colo., from South Dakota.
In 1932, he married Marjorie Maxwell, who died in 1986. They moved to Richland in 1944, where he was an electrical engineer for Hanford Contractors until retiring in 1973.
Following their retirement, Mr. Morris and his wife traveled, spending time in Ashland; Seattle, Wash.; Tucson, Ariz.; and Denver.
After his wife's death, he lived in Grand Junction, Colo., Seattle, and in 1996 moved to Columbia Edgewater Retirement Community in Richland.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Lou Taylor, Ashland, and Sally Ann Potter, Richland; a son, Bill, Seattle; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
