Wally G. Hix
The graveside service for Wally G. Hix will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. His uncle, Pastor Bruce D. Hix, will officiate.
Mr. Hix, 66, of Central Point, died Thursday (Nov. 12, 1998) at his home.
He was born July 20, 1932 in Taft, Texas.
On June 5, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas, he married Dianne Platt, who survives. They moved to Oregon in 1971.
From 1950 to 1952, he served in the National Guard and the U.S. Air Force.
He was a truck driver until his retirement.
He enjoyed auto racing, country music and model trains.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five sons, Jim, Lancaster, Calif., Steve, Dave and Darrell, Central Point, and Wade, Palmdale, Calif.; a daughter, Donna Hix, White City; a sister, Wanda Bates, Hot Springs, Ark.; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may pay their respects from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday at Abbey Funeral, 2680 N. Pacific Highway, Medford.
Ed Mohatt
Ed Mohatt, of Ashland, died Wednesday (Nov. 11, 1998) at Ashland Community Hospital. A memorial service will be held later.

Mr. Mohatt was born in Omaha, Neb.
On Jan. 31, 1942, in San Francisco, he married Evelyn Detamore, who survives.
During World War II, he served in the United States Naval Reserve. Following the war, he worked for the defense department in Oakland, Calif.
Mr. Mohatt worked in the wholesale and retail shoe business for several shoe manufacturers, including Hoy Shoe Company. In 1981 he moved to Ashland, where he co-owned and operated Lithia Park Shoes with his son, James.
He was a sponsor of local youth baseball and scouting programs.
Mr. Mohatt was a member of the Elks Lodge for over 50 years.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, James, Talent; a brother, Raymond, Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Marie Farris and Patricia Mohatt, both of Omaha; and three grandchildren.

Hazel Lucille Smith
The funeral for Hazel Lucille Smith will be Monday at the Clay Street Community Church of God, Ashland. The Rev. Ray Orndoff will officiate. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland.
She was born Hazel Lucille Michael on Sept. 15, 1910, in Albion, Neb.
On Oct. 18, 1933, in Mitchell, Neb., she married Perry A. Smith, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Smith moved to Ashland from Southern California in 1946. In 1997 she moved to Talent.
She was a cook for Crosby's Nursing Home in Ashland for 10 years.
Mrs. Smith was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed fishing.
She was a member of the Clay Street Community Church of God.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Damer, Talent, JoAnn Gilliman, Tiller, and Carol Leeper, Grand Junction, Colo.; twelve grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, two grandchildren, five brothers and a sister.

Adonda True Meadows
The graveside service for Adonda "Donna" True Meadows will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford. The Rev. Tom Harvey of Redwood Community Church will officiate.
Mrs. Meadows, 55, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Nov. 11, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Adonda True Pyle on Jan. 31, 1943, in Westwood, Calif.
Mrs. Meadows lived in the Rogue Valley most of her life. She graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1962.
On Nov. 2, 1966, in Ashland, she married Clarence Edwin Meadows, who survives.
Mrs. Meadows owned and operated Mothers Delight day-care center in her home for 27 years.
She enjoyed going to Reno.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Timothy, Central Point, and Steven, Nehalem; a daughter, Janet Rinkes, Oregon City; her mother, Caroline Pyle, Grants Pass; a brother, Dale Muskopf, Grants Pass; a sister, Carrol Olds, Grants Pass; and four step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Muskopf.

Shirley Jane Neatrour
The graveside service for Shirley Jane Neatrour will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. Dick Leithner will officiate.
Mrs. Neatrour, 68, of Rogue River, died Wednesday (Nov. 11, 1998) in Portland.
She was born Shirley Jane Basher on Dec. 16, 1929, in Buffalo, N.Y.
On Nov. 24, 1977, in Las Vegas, Nev., she married Donald Neatrour, who survives.
Mrs. Neatrour worked for Blue Cross in Woodland Hills, Calif. She moved to Rogue River from Blythe, Calif., in 1983.
She was a member of the Multi Center in Rogue River.
Mrs. Neatrour enjoyed bingo, traveling, camping and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Wende Sanchez, Milwaukie; a son, Jack Stadelmeyer, Denton, Md.; and two grandchildren.

Earl Abram Cougle
The memorial gathering for Earl Abram Cougle will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Fruitdale Grange, 960 Rogue River Highway, Grants Pass. Chaplain Delores Braumgardner will officiate.
Mr. Cougle, 86, of Williams, died Monday (Nov. 2, 1998) at Hearthstone.

He was born July 21, 1912, in Williams.
On April 6, 1936, in Vancouver, Wash., he married Lois Elliott, who survives.
Mr. Cougle worked in the timber industry.
He was a member of the Pomona and Fruitdale granges. His many interests included fishing, bowling and auto mechanics, and he enjoyed fixing things for people in his community.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Harry and Paul Cougle and Dick Rayson, all Grants Pass; two daughters, Sandra Cougle, Medford, and Lorraine Walior, Salida, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and a great-granddaughter.

Cecil Harris
The graveside service for Cecil Harris will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Siskiyou Memorial Park, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford. The Rev. John Braund of First Presbyterian Church of Phoenix will officiate.
Mr. Harris, 83, of Medford, died Thursday (Nov. 12, 1998) at Medford Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Nov. 4, 1915, in Sapulpa, Okla. He moved to the Rogue Valley from California in 1934.
On April 4, 1939, in Medford, he married Eleanor M. Dalton, who survives.
Mr. Harris drove a logging truck and a dump truck for Medford Corp. He retired from McGrews Brothers Sawmill in Ashland in 1981.
He was an active volunteer for ACCESS and received the Spirit Award from Channel 10 for his volunteer work.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Marvin, Medford; a brother, Harold, Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister, Opal Rollinds, Sapulpa, Okla; and one grandchild.

Lola M. Steagall
Lola M. Edmondson Steagall, 79, of Butte Falls, died Wednesday (Nov. 11, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

She was born Lola M. Edmondson on March 15, 1919 in Butte Falls, a daughter of Benjamin and Kizzie Edmondson.
On Sept. 4, 1936, in John Day, she married Earl T. Steagall, who died in 1993. She lived in Seneca for 44 years, and moved to the Rogue Valley in 1980.
Mrs. Steagall was postmaster in Seneca until her retirement.
She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and working with ceramics.
Survivors include a daughter, Launie Bartley, Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Leola, in 1998, sisters Sylvia and Veva, and brothers Kenneth and Frank.
