Harry L. Huntley
Harry L. Huntley, 67, of White City, died Monday (Nov. 16, 1998) at his home. A private service is planned with inurnment following in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

He was born July 11, 1931, in Ames, Iowa. The family moved to Oregon in 1942 from Iowa.
On Jan. 11, 1961, in Seoul, South Korea, he married Yong Ja Kim, who survives.
Mr. Huntley served in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1975.
He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Marshall, White City, Steve and Ed, both Grants Pass, and Sam, El Paso, Texas; a daughter, Kim Millard, White City; his mother, Esther Couture, White City; a sister, Marie Sanderbrink, White City; a brother, Don, in Iowa; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Alice N. McGuinn
Alice Nutting McGuinn, 91, of Phoenix, died Tuesday (Nov. 17, 1998) at Hearthstone. A private service was held. Interment was in the Phoenix Cemetery.
She was born Alice Nutting on Oct. 14, 1907, in Raton, N.M.
On May 17, 1941, in Las Vegas, Nev., she married Joseph Ford Lawrence McGuinn, who died in 1971.
Mrs. McGuinn moved to the Rogue Valley 18 years ago from North Hollywood, Calif.
She was a member of the Baha'i faith. She loved animals, especially dogs and birds, and also enjoyed crossword puzzles and soap operas.
Survivors include a son, Edward Patton, San Diego; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Helen Larimer Apple
Helen Larimer Apple, 83, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 16, 1998) at the Medford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. A private service was held.
She was born Helen Larimer on June 26, 1915, in Arlington, S.D. She was raised in South Dakota and moved to the Rogue Valley at age 18.
Mrs. Apple was a legal secretary in Medford, San Francisco and Portland. She returned to the Rogue Valley upon her retirement in 1980.
Survivors include a son, Robert Abel, Medford; a daughter, June Read, Medford; a brother, Larry Larimer, Medford; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Lillian L. Chapman
The funeral for Lillian L. Chapman will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Chapel, Medford. The Rev. Robert Larson of Ascension Lutheran Church, Medford, will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Chapman, 88, formerly of Talent, died Friday (Nov. 13, 1998) in Muscle Shoals, Ala. Her home was in Leighton, Ala.
She was born Lillian Russel on May 23, 1910, in Joplin, Mo.
In 1974, in Reno, Nev., she married Harold Chapman, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Chapman was a data processor for 22 years at Sunkist Corp. in California before retiring.
In 1973, she came to the Rogue Valley from California. She moved to Alabama in early 1998.
Mrs. Chapman enjoyed sewing, bowling, fishing and donating her crafts to a center for the blind.
Survivors include a daughter, Pat Ward, Medford; a grandson, T.J. Ward, Eugene; three granddaughters, Carey Ann Fahring, Teri Young and Christy Carrero, all Applegate, Kathy Barber and Patty Ward, both in California; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Butterfield; a brother, Howard Luttes; and a grandson.

Mary Gertrude Petrie
Mary Gertrude Petrie, 69, of Grants Pass, died Friday (Nov. 13, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

She was born Mary Skipper on July 8, 1929, in Hampstead, Md.
On Jan. 4, 1946, in Carroll, Md., she married Ivan L. Petrie, who died in 1993.
Mrs. Petrie lived in the Applegate, Murphy and Williams areas for many years.
An avid reader, she also enjoyed crafts, sewing, fishing and camping.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary McSwan, Williams, Cathy Schrimsher, Grants Pass, and Linda Harris, Murphy; four sons, Bob and Bud, both Medford, David, Grants Pass, and Bill, Craig, Alaska; two sisters, Carrie Flynn and Shirley Horton; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Two grandchildren preceded her in death.

Jane Watson Hopping
The funeral for Jane C. Watson Hopping, "The Pioneer Lady," will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hopping, 69, of Gold Hill, died Saturday (Nov. 14, 1998) at a Gold Hill foster home.

She was born Jane Watson on Sept. 28, 1929, in Humboldt, Kan.
On Jan. 29, 1950, in Loomis, Calif., she married Raymond E. Hopping, who survives. They moved to Medford in 1959 from Loomis, moving to Gold Hill two months ago.
Mrs. Hopping was the author of six cookbooks. She gained national attention in 1987 with publication of "The Pioneer Lady's Country Kitchen."
She appeared on a KOBI television cooking show for two years.
Mrs. Hopping was a longtime member of the Griffin Creek Grange.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Colleen Maddox, Ashland; a son, Randy, Pasco, Wash.; and a granddaughter. A sister, Sheila Christman, preceded her in death.
Friends may pay their respects from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
Beverly Annette Fields
Beverly Annette Fields, 58, of Medford, died Friday (Nov. 13, 1998) at her home. No service is planned.
She was born Beverly Lewis on May 10, 1940, in Chinook, Wash.
Ms. Fields moved to the Rogue Valley from Coos Bay in 1990.
She enjoyed sewing quilts, canning, baking bread and collecting seashells and driftwood.
Survivors include a daughter, Juanita Tappin, Phoenix; a son, Tom, Donald; her parents, Preston and Ann Lewis, Phoenix; four sisters, Cherie Yunkherr, Vikki Skaggs and Peggy Cardinal, all of Medford, and Trudy Dunlap, Mill City; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Dexter L. Jordan in 1990 and Jon Fields in 1991.

Leo Miles Clausen
The graveside service for Leo Miles Clausen will be at 1 p.m. today in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Dwayne Brown of the Central Point First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Mr. Clausen, 79, of Prospect, died Saturday (Nov. 14, 1998) at his home.
He was born Dec. 18, 1918, in Vergas, Minn. After growing up in Montana he moved to California in his early 20s.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army as a surgical technician in the Pacific Theater.
Upon his discharge from the Army, Mr. Clausen moved to Napa, Calif., where he was a boilermaker and blacksmith with the Basalt Rock Co. until retiring in 1984.
In 1966, in Reno, Nev., he married Lois Konnoff, who survives.
Mr. Clausen was president of the Basalt Rock Employees Association and the Napa Eagles Lodge. He also enjoyed golfing and reading.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Deborah Konnoff, Brush Prairie, Wash., and Kathleen Foskett, Napa; a son, Daniel Konnoff, Taipei, Taiwan; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
