Monica Marcus
Monnie May "Monica" Marcus, 77, of Ashland, died Nov. 14, 1998, at Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford. A private service was held.

She was born Monnie Mae Walker on July 22, 1921, in Nashville, Tenn.
Mrs. Marcus moved to Ashland in 1993.
She enjoyed entertaining friends and loved her animals.
Survivors include a niece, Anne Juliano, Ashland; and a nephew, Anthony Juliano, Ashland. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister.

Mary Ellen Whitaker
The memorial service for Mary Ellen Whitaker will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. Capt. Linda Rome of the Salvation Army will officiate.
Mrs. Whitaker, 84, of Eagle Point, died Monday (Nov. 23, 1998) at the Medford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.

She was born Mary Ellen Thomas on Oct. 15, 1914, in Decatur, Ill.
In 1937, in Norman, Ill., she married Samuel J. Whitaker, who died in 1995. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1967 from Burbank, Calif.
Mrs. Whitaker was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Salvation Army in Decatur and Burbank.
Survivors include two sons, Charles, Eagle Point, and Robert, Medford; a brother, Earl Thomas, Decatur; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Goldie L. Summers
The funeral for Goldie Lucille Summers will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Central Valley Chapel, Central Point. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Summers, 82, of Medford, died Saturday (Nov. 21, 1998) at her home.
She was born Goldie Cook on Nov. 6, 1916, in Muskogee County, Okla.
Mrs. Summers moved to the Rogue Valley 25 years ago.
She was a member of the Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, cooking, thrift stores and square dancing.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Ashwood, Brookings, and Raymond "Leon" Ashwood, Springfield; two brothers, George "Bud" Cook, Central Point, and Fred Cook, in California; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers; a sister; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.
Charles H. Flickinger
Charles Henry Flickinger, 69, of Medford, died Saturday (Nov. 21, 1998) in Medford. Private inurnment will be in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
He was born Jan. 15, 1929, in Whittier, Calif.
Mr. Flickinger was a member of the original "Our Gang" cast, appearing in the 1930s comedy films.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1949 to 1950.
In February 1970, in Las Vegas, Nev., he married Carol S. Burg, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1972 from Glendale, Calif.
Mr. Flickinger owned and operated the Touch of Islands clothing store in Medford for 14 years.
He was a past exalted ruler of the Medford Elks Lodge and enjoyed golfing and investing in the stock market.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Christine Maranville, Riverside, Calif., and Alison Flickinger, Sunland, Calif.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Anna B. Blumenstein
Anna Blanche Blumenstein, 97, formerly of Central Point, died Sunday (Nov. 22, 1998) at the Hood River Care Center. A memorial service will be held later in the Hood River Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Private interment will be in the family plot in Elgin Cemetery.
She was born Anna Aubert on Aug. 26, 1901, at Mount Hood, and attended school in Parkdale and Monmouth.
She taught at Fir Mountain School near Odell before moving to teach in Elgin.
On Dec. 13, 1924, in Elgin, she married David Samuel Blumenstein, who preceded her in death.
The Blumensteins spent many years in Central Point before moving to Bonanza to be near their daughter.
A few years after her husband died, Mrs. Blumenstein returned to the Hood River Valley to be near family.
Survivors include a daughter, Helene Gorden, Bonanza; a son, Paul, Odell; a sister, Helene Halliday, Parkdale; a brother, George Aubert, Parkdale; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Leslie Aubert; and a sister, Gladys Jensen.

Robert Earl Baylor II
The funeral for Robert Earl Baylor II will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, in the Donelson, Sewell & Mathews Chapel in Hillsboro. Private interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.
Mr. Baylor, 45, formerly of Medford, died Nov. 17, 1998, in Portland. His home was in Beaverton.
He was born April 13, 1953, in Medford, to Robert and Shirley Baylor. He spent most of his life in Medford.
Mr. Baylor moved to the Portland area in 1991.
On Aug. 12, 1992, in Gresham, he married Darlene Sutherland, who survives.
Mr. Baylor owned and operated the Baylor Professional Roofing Co. in Beaverton.
He was a member of the Word of Faith Christian Center in Hillsboro and enjoyed fishing and bowling.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Robert E. III, Beaverton; two daughters, Brandy E. Morehouse, Medford, and Lisa Lee Baylor, Beaverton; his mother, Shirley J. Hageman Baylor, Medford; a sister, Connie J. Miller, Medford; a brother, Randy L., Lincoln, Neb.; and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father in 1966; and a granddaughter.

Josephine R. Jones
Josephine R. Jones, 90, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 23, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center. Private interment will be in the Alamo, Calif., Cemetery.
She was born Josephine Fowler on March 13, 1908, in Vacaville, Calif.
Mrs. Jones moved to Medford three years ago from Alamo.
Survivors include a son, Greg, Medford; a sister, Louise Cornish, Mountlake Terrace, Wash.; and two grandsons. A daughter, Marilyn Jones, died in 1993.

Remunda `Rae' Reina
Remunda "Rae" H. Reina, 84, of Medford, died Friday (Nov. 20, 1998) at her home. A private service was held.

She was born Remunda Hermoso on Oct. 6, 1914, in Fremont, Calif.
On Dec. 14, 1940, in Fremont, she married Antonio Reina, who preceded her in death.
She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1974 from Fremont.
Mrs. Reina was a foster grandparent at Hoover School for about 12 years before becoming ill.
She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Burns, Medford; two brothers, Frank Hermoso, Newark, Calif., and Marion Hermoso, Fremont; three sisters, Linda Moody, Fremont, and Janet Mello and Frances Romero, both Sacramento, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Corchero; a son, Richard; and two sisters, Marcie Jardine and Mary King.

Beulah Marie Shelledy
The memorial service for Beulah Marie Shelledy will be held Saturday in the Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos, Calif.
Mrs. Shelledy, 85, of Medford, died Friday (Nov. 20, 1998) at Hearthstone.

She was born Aug. 29, 1913, in Emporia, Kan.
Mrs. Shelledy was a machine operator for 10 years with the Monarch Match Co. in San Jose.
She moved to the Rogue Valley 10 years ago from San Jose, Calif.
Mrs. Shelledy was active in Sons of Norway and community activities. She also enjoyed traveling and bird watching.
Survivors include her husband, William J. Shelledy, Medford; two sons, Ted Lusk and Roy Lusk, both San Jose; three daughters, Vesta Rollings, Sebastapol, Calif., Joan Johnson, Seattle, Wash., and Jean Denham, Weimar, Calif.; two sisters, Dorothy Thompson, Salem, and Grace Robb, Anchorage, Alaska; 23 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.
