Edith M. Cliett
Edith M. Cliett, 79, of Talent, died Sunday (Dec. 13, 1998) at Medford Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. No service is planned. Inurnment will be at Hill Dunn Cemetery in Ashland.
She was born Edith M. MacDowell on March 20, 1919, in Ashland.
Mrs. Cliett returned to the Rogue Valley from Los Angeles in 1974.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert MacDowell, Ashland, and William MacDowell, Talent; a sister, Patricia MacDowell, Ashland, and an aunt, Eunice Sweeting, Santa Rosa, Calif. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Gayle.

Elvin Carl Wolgamott
The memorial service for Elvin Carl Wolgamott will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church, 1900 Crater Lake Ave., Medford. The Rev. Tim Tiffany will officiate. Inurnment will be in Alcove Urn Garden at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Wolgamott, 92, of Medford, died Thursday (Dec. 10, 1998) in Florence.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1905, in Medford, a son of Vance and Emma Oglesby Wolgamott.
He married Dorothy Lough, who died in 1992.
Mr. Wolgamott was a millworker with Medford Corporation for 35 years until he retired at 65.
Mr. Wolgamott was a member of the First Christian Church of Medford.
He was a life member of Warren Lodge No. 10, A.F. & A.M. of Jacksonville.
Mr. Wolgamott was known as the "flower man" because he grew beautiful roses, and gave bouquets to the people in his neighborhood.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid walker, hiker and bowler.
Survivors include a daughter, Marcella M. Carnes, Florence; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard, who died in 1979.

Lyle Lester Messinger
Entombment for Lyle Lester Messinger will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. at Rogue Valley Christian Church, 1440 S. Oakdale, Medford. Pastor James Larsen of Rogue Valley Christian Church will officiate.
Mr. Messinger, 76, of Medford, died Monday (Dec. 14, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 23, 1922, in Madison, Kan.
On Feb. 18, 1944, in Kansas City, Kan., he married Betty J. Allen, who survives.
Mr. Messinger worked for Reed Electric in Portland from 1945 to 1960, and Electric Construction from 1960 to 1965. After moving to Medford in 1965, he worked for Cascade Electric Motor Services, Inc., eventually becoming the company vice president. He retired in 1987.
He was a member of the Rogue Valley Christian Church.
Mr. Messinger was a photo buff. He also enjoyed stained glass work, hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Valerie Cooley, Fremont, Calif.; three brothers, Melbern, Kansas City, Kan., Donald, Milton-Freewater, and Dale, Seattle; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Friends may pay their respects from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, 550 Business Park Drive, Medford.
Fay Peters Christianson
Fay Peters Christianson, 94, of Jacksonville, died Sunday (Dec. 13, 1998) in a Medford foster care home. A private service will be held.
Mrs. Christianson, a native Oregonian, was born Nov. 6, 1904, in Drain, a daughter of George and Mable Montgomery.
In 1923, in Roseburg, she married Dr. Stanley Peters, a local dentist, who preceded her in death. They moved to Jacksonville in 1933, where he continued his practice and she worked as his assistant.
In 1961, she married Walter Christianson of Eugene, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Christianson was a postal employee at the Jacksonville Post Office for 17 years.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 75 years, and a life member of Adarel Chapter No. 3 in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Christianson was a member of the Garden Club, and various local organizations.
Survivors include a daughter, Mavis Peters, Jacksonville; a son, Leland Peters, Bigfork, Mont.; and two grandchildren.

LaVerna Fields
LaVerna Fields, 73, of Provolt, died Friday (Dec. 11, 1998) at her home. No service is planned.

She was born LaVerna Idell Eaton on April 9, 1925, in Billings, Mont.
On Dec. 29, 1959, in Carson City, Nev., she married Lewis Fields, who survives.
Mrs. Fields was a charter member of the Grants Pass Emblem Club. She also was a member of the Grants Pass Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and the Provolt Grange.
She enjoyed a variety of crafts and playing the organ.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Leah Ehredt, Aloha, and Sharon Samuelson, Santa Clarita, Calif.; a sister, Ora Marie Dunn, Rio Linda, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Buddy Joe Strickler
Buddy Joe Strickler, 61, of White City, died Sunday (Dec. 13, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.
Mr. Strickler was born on Oct. 2, 1937, in the town of Nashville in Lincoln County.
On Nov. 27, 1991, in Newport, he married Donna Rae Bass, who survives.
Mr. Strickler was an instrument technician with the Georgia Pacific Mill in Toledo for 37 years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Toledo Elks Lodge No. 1664.
Mr. Strickler enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, June Strickler, White City, Kammy Stamm, Siletz, and Theresa Nielsen, Goldendale, Wash.; two sons, Brian, Siletz, and Jason Nielsen, White City; his mother, Beulah Strickler, Toledo; four sisters, Betty Hall, Brookings, Pat Bittler and Oleta Jones, both of Toledo, and Sharon Clute, Gaston; four brothers, Barney, Toledo, Richard and Jerry, both of Siletz, and Darrell, Harper; and one grandchild.

Clarence E. Willenbring
Clarence Elmer Willenbring, 84, of Medford, died Dec. 8, 1998, at a foster care home in Central Point. A private service will be held. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery in Portland.
He was born on June 11, 1914, in Muskego, N.D.
On May 12, 1941, in Billings, Mont., he married Bernice Johnson, who died in 1986. He moved to the Rogue Valley five years ago from Lake Oswego.
Mr. Willenbring was a salesman with General Foods until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Willenbring was a member of the Tualatin Elks and the Knights of Columbus in Lake Oswego.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
Mr. Willenbring enjoyed golf.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan Safley, Medford; three brothers, Richard, Minneapolis, Minn., and Robert and Donald, both of Minot, N.D.; 10 sisters, Lenore Spalla, Eugene, Bernice Nelson, Silverton, Arlene Furtado, San Jose, Calif., Marlene Caroley, Denver, Colo., Delores Odermann and Kathleen Vicha, both of Minot, N.D., Marjorie Thompson, New Boston, Texas, Beverly Ramsey, Fayetteville, N.C., Sister Rose DeVeterba and Sister Elizabeth Marie, both of Valley City, N.D.; and three grandchildren.

Lois Dean Wyllie
The memorial service for Lois Dean Wyllie will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Thomas M. Shepherd of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Eagle Point, will officiate.
Mrs. Wyllie, 63, of White City, died Friday (Dec. 11, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born Lois Dean Cook on March 10, 1935, in Oatman, Ariz.
On Dec. 24, 1960, in Pomona, Calif., she married Vernon B. Wyllie, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Iowa in 1979.
Mrs. Wyllie was a housekeeper.
She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She enjoyed camping and her family.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three sons, Vernon Jr., and John, both of White City, and Ron Supernaugh, Medford; a daughter, Geraldine Aubury, San Bernardino, Calif.; two sisters, Doris Cook, White City, and Irene Vasquez, California; and six grandchildren.
