Gary Wayne Maxson
The memorial service for Gary Wayne Maxson will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hope Christian Church, 325 Oak St., Central Point. Pastor Tom Sabens of Table Rock Fellowship Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in Jacksonville Cemetery.
Mr. Maxson, 55, of Jacksonville, died Sunday (Jan. 10, 1999) at his home.

He was born April 22, 1943, in Klamath Falls.
On Sept. 29, 1969, in Tampa, Fla., he married Mary Ann Dolak, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Tampa 22 years ago.
Mr. Maxson was a warehouseman and driver for United Pipe Wholesale Plumbing.
He was a member of the Table Rock Fellowship Church.
Mr. Maxson enjoyed woodworking, family and children.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Theresa Bigej, Portland, and Michele Piepgras, White Bear Lake, Minn.; his parents, Wayne and Evelyn Maxson, Jacksonville; six sisters, Barbara Lowe and Nancy Van Dyke, both of Jacksonville, Patricia Germann, Oxnard, Calif., Karen Rameson, Gaviota, Calif., Sandy McLaughlin, Lumberton, N.C., Becky Hershey, Vancouver, Wash.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger, in 1995, and a granddaughter, McKenna Piepgras, in 1996.

Loleita M. Leijonflycht
The memorial service for Loleita M. Leijonflycht will be at 2 p.m. today at the First Christian Church, 1900 Crater Lake Ave., Medford. Pastor John Dungey of Central Point will officiate.
Mrs. Leijonflycht, 81, of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 11, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Loleita M. Denham on Feb. 28, 1917, in Bodie, Calif.
On Jan. 1, 1976, in Paradise, Calif., she married Richard A. Leijonflycht, who preceded her in death. They moved to Oregon in 1996.
Mrs. Leijonflycht was trained and worked was a practical nurse. She later operated her own foster care home.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and her cat "Max."
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Dahl, Butte Falls, and Claudene Nordeen, Fairbanks, Alaska; a son, Ted Josue, Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, John Denham, Walnut Creek, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Roper.

Diana Hutchins
The graveside service for Diana Hutchins will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Mountain View Cemetery in Ashland.
Miss Hutchins, 33, of Ashland, died Jan. 6, 1999, near Canyonville.
She was born Sept. 3, 1965, in California, where she was raised. She had lived in Florida, New Orleans, Reno, Ashland and Hawaii before returning to Ashland in 1998.
Miss Hutchins was active in helping homeless people in the Ashland area.
She enjoyed scuba diving and dancing.
Survivors include her companion, Daniel Rueff, Ashland; her mother, Rhonda San Diego; and a sister, Veronica Bernardino.

Robert E. Hord
The memorial service for Robert E. Hord will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Central Point Masonic Lodge will officiate. Inurnment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Hord, 80, of Jacksonville, died Monday (Jan. 11, 1999) at Hearthstone.
He was born June 16, 1918, in Ontario in Malheur County.
On Feb. 3, 1950, in Grants Pass, he married Mary Moon, who survives. He lived in the Rogue Valley for 80 years.
Mr. Hord was a farm equipment mechanic for Ford Tractor and Naumes Equipment.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a member of the 98th Bomber GP(H) Veterans Association.
Mr. Hord was a life member of the Masonic Warren Lodge in Jacksonville and an adviser for Rainbow and Eastern Star.
He enjoyed fishing, making furniture and toys, reading westerns and vegetable gardening.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Jason, Jacksonville; a daughter, Krista Flink, Klamath Falls; a sister, Gloria Clark, Grants Pass; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Don, in 1967.

Ruth E. Cox
Ruth Eolus Cox, 87, of Medford, died Jan. 1, 1999, at Providence Medford Medical Center. The graveside service was held at Sunset Park in Lakeview.
She was born Ruth Eolus Barry on Dec. 8, 1911, in Lakeview, a daughter of Nicholas and Eolus Barry.
In 1929, in Winnemucca, Nev., she married William Cox, who died in 1973.
Mrs. Cox worked with her husband as a cattle rancher for many years.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, gardening, cattle and horses.
Survivors include two sons, Bill, Central Point, and Don, Mulino; three sisters, Katherine Baalman, Medford, Nellie Herringer, Courtland, Calif., and Betty Fletcher, Spokane, Wash.; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Michele `Sheli' Griffiths
Michele G. "Sheli" Griffiths, 34, of Smithfield, Va., formerly of Medford, died Dec. 30, 1998, at Louise Obici Hospital in Smithfield of leukemia.
She was born July 5, 1964, in San Bernardino, Calif.
A 1983 graduate of Medford High School, she received her bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Oregon in 1988.
Ms. Griffiths moved to Virginia in 1991, where she was a buyer for Smithfield Foods.
Survivors include her parents, Michael William and Martha Johnson Griffiths, and a sister, Melody Ann Griffiths, all of Monmouth; maternal grandparents, Vester and Dora Johnson, Coquille; and paternal grandparents, William and Gladys Griffiths, Salem.

Evelyn F. Peterson
Evelyn F. Peterson, 89, of Jacksonville, died Saturday (Jan. 9, 1999) in Jacksonville. A private service is planned in Eugene.

She was born Evelyn F. Bachelder on Oct. 12, 1909, in Portland.
On Jan. 16, 1932, in Medford, she married Edwin P. Reiser, who died in 1944.
On Feb. 14, 1971, in Eugene, she married Stanley Peterson, who died in 1984. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Springfield in 1984.
Mrs. Peterson was a licensed practical nurse until her retirement.
She attended the Applegate Christian Fellowship, and had been an active member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking and other crafts.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Skeen, Jacksonville; a son, Kenneth Reiser, Redmond; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Darwin Reiser, in 1944.

Alice Selma Smith
Alice Selma Smith, 80, of Central Point, died Friday (Jan. 8, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service was held. Interment will be in Missouri Flats Cemetery, Applegate.
She was born Alice Selma Hansen on March 19, 1918, in Columbia County.
She married Charles Smith, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1988 from San Francisco.
Mrs. Smith was a hostess, waitress and cook.
Survivors include a brother, Arnold Hofmann, Central Point; and two sisters, Lillian Knighton, Ukiah, Calif., and Evelyn Mackey, Long Beach, Calif.

Laura Elizabeth Holm
Laura Elizabeth Holm, 85, of Prospect, died Friday (Jan. 8, 1999) at a foster home. A private service is planned.
She was born Laura E. Ross on May 24, 1913, in Page, Wash.
On March 24, 1934, in Woods Cross, Utah, she married Harold R. Holm, who died in 1983. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Reseda, Calif., in 1974.
Mrs. Holm was a registered nurse in hospitals in Washington and Utah. Before she retired, she was an electrologist in California.
She was a member of the Prospect Lioness Club, where she sold the most raffle tickets for the quilt auction each year.
Mrs. Holm was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagle Point Ward.
Survivors include a daughter, Maureen Holm Jones, Prospect; two sisters, Elsie Irene Gregory, Beaverton, and Dorothy Christena Thompson, Walla Walla, Wash.; three granddaughters; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Arrangements were handled by Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
