Marvin L. Bangs
The memorial service for Marvin L. Bangs will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Bangs, 59, of Medford, died Dec. 3, 1998, at his home.

He was born July 6, 1939, in Loup City, Neb.
Mr. Bangs worked for 3M Division in White City from 1975 until retiring in 1983. He then worked in yard maintenance.
He served in the U.S. Navy from August 1956 to November 1957.
Mr. Bangs enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening.
Survivors include three daughters, Terri Bowling, Tamra Huntoon and LeAnn Bangs, all Medford; a son, Lance, Medford; three sisters, Barbara Blackwell, Carol Van Tassel and Kay Fenwich, all in Missouri; two brothers, Jim Bangs and Carl Bangs, both in Missouri; and seven grandchildren.

Laura Lee Satterfield
A memorial service for Laura Lee Satterfield will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, 121 Second St., Phoenix. Pastor John Braund of First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Ms. Satterfield, 51, of Medford, died Friday (Jan. 15, 1999) at her home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Medical Center Hospice or the Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, both at 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.
She was born Dec. 22, 1947, in Vallejo, Calif., and moved to the Rogue Valley 12 years ago from Concord, Calif.
For the past six years she worked at the Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation as program officer for Research and Development.
She was a member of the Attention Deficit Disorder Association. She enjoyed camping, fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include her son, Christopher John, Medford; her father, John W., Madera, Calif., and her brother, John W. Jr., Plano, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annabell.

Virginia C. Peterson
A memorial service for Virginia Clyda Peterson will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at Valley Community Presbyterian Church, 8060 SW Brentwood, Portland.
Mrs. Petersen, 70, a former Medford resident, died Thursday (Jan. 14, 1999) at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland.

She was born Virginia Blanc on Sept. 18, 1928, in Portland, where she graduated from Washington High School in 1946. She attended Oregon State College and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega.
On Dec. 18, 1948, she married Robert Peterson, who survives. They lived in Medford from 1965 to 1967.
For most of her life she was a homemaker but in later years she worked as a secretary for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Portland.
A Campfire leader for many years, Mrs. Peterson served on the Portland Area Council's Program Committee and she was a member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter BR and the Broadmoor Woman's Club.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her son, Daniel R., Yakima, Wash.; two daughters, Debra C. Janes, Medford, and Diane M., Eugene; her sister, Julia Allison, Indianapolis, Ind.; her brother, David Blanc, Portland; and four grandchildren.
Donald Morgan Graves
The funeral for Donald Morgan Graves will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. A committal service will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland.
Mr. Graves, 84, of Ashland, died Saturday (Jan. 16, 1999) at home.

He was born June 3, 1914, in Coos Bay, a son of Nellie and Robert Graves. He was raised in Gary, Ind., where he fought in the Golden Gloves Boxing Association. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy on the naval intelligence staff of Admiral Chester W. Nimitz.
On Jan. 4, 1945, at Crown Point, Ind., he married Ethel G. Horner, who survives.
In 1956 he started work at the Country Store in Belmont, Calif., which he bought in 1969 and operated until 1983. He moved to Ashland in 1986.
He was a member of the Rotary Club of Belmont, serving as president, district governor representative and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member of the Elks Club in Redwood City, Calif.
He enjoyed golfing.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his son, Roger, of Ashland; and his sister, Maryann Carmody, of Valparaiso, Ind. He was preceded in death by four brothers and his parents. Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
Carolyn S. Farrens
The memorial service for Carolyn Sandvall Farrens will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford. Minister Stan Johnson of the West Main Church of Christ, Medford, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Farrens, 72, died Wednesday (Jan. 13, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Carolyn Sandvall on Dec. 22, 1926, in Alcester, S.D.
On Feb. 15, 1949, in Topeka, Kan., she married Glen E. Farrens, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1982 from the San Francisco Bay area.
Mrs. Farrens retired from Safeway Stores after 23 years.
She was a member of the Retail Clerks Union Local 870 of Northern California.
Mrs. Farrens was a bookkeeper for Cascade Bingo and White City Community Improvement Association, where she also served on the board. She volunteered for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department in White City and was active in the Christian Women's Club.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Ron, Byron, Calif.; two daughters, Nancy Battaion and Kathy Manucal, both Fremont, Calif.; two brothers, Ken Sandvall and Bill Sandvall, both in South Dakota; a sister, Ferne Dykstra, Pierre, S.D.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ed; a daughter, Cindy Davis; a sister, Ruth; and two brothers, Les and Leland Sandvall.

Bertha Mae Garrison
Bertha Mae Garrison, 76, of Medford, died Thursday (Jan. 14, 1999) at her home. A private service is planned.

She was born Bertha Cardin on May 31, 1922, in Point Falls, Idaho, and moved with her family to Medford in 1930.
On Nov. 17, 1950, in Roseburg, she married Herman "Lucky" Garrison, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Garrison was manager of the Del Rio Orchard Fruit Stand for more than 20 years before her retirement.
She was an Avon representative and a member of Avon's President's Club.
Mrs. Garrison enjoyed walking, gardening, and collecting ceramic angels and swans and pictures.
Survivors include three sons, John Spiess, Medford, Randy Garrison, Eagle Point, and Rick Garrison, Salt Lake City; three daughters, Robbin Henson, Talent, Roxie Wood, Springfield, and Jacqueline Neal, in Florida; a brother, Bill Cardin, Ten Mile; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ona Jean McElvany; a brother; and two sisters.

Emma Louise Cooper
The memorial service for Emma Louise Cooper will be at noon Friday at Bethel Assembly of God, Medford. Pastor Tim Olson will officiate.
Mrs. Cooper, 86, of Medford, died Jan. 8, 1999, at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Emma Huggins on Nov. 10, 1912, in Peoria, Ill.
On March 4, 1931, in Peoria, she married Howard Cooper, who died in 1988.
Mrs. Cooper moved to the Rogue Valley in 1990 from Yachats.
She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God.
Survivors include three sons, John Arthur, Beaverton, Robert William, Seaside, and James Howard, White Salmon, Wash.; and nine grandchildren. A son, Thomas Marvin, died in 1968.

Ethel C. Hart
The graveside service for Ethel C. Hart will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland. Pastor Bob Friend of the Christian Church of Ashland will officiate.
Mrs. Hart, 91, of Medford, died Thursday (Jan. 14, 1999) at Medford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
She was born Ethel Cole on Nov. 28, 1907, in Avon, Colo.
She was raised in Colorado where she graduated from high school.
On Nov. 19, 1937, in Redwood City, Calif., she married Ben Hart, who died in 1972.
Mrs. Hart came to Ashland in 1937.
She worked at the J.J. Newberry Store in Medford for 20 years.
She moved to Medford in 1973.
Mrs. Hart enjoyed traveling, especially to Reno, and playing bingo.
Survivors include a brother, Herbert Cole, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
