Charles A. Risley
The funeral for Charles Arthur Risley will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Juanipero Way in Medford.
Mr. Risley, 81, of Medford, died Sunday (Jan. 24, 1999) in Medford.
Friends may pay their respects from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Stake Center on Juanipero Way.

Douglas Ray McNeill
The graveside service with full military honors for Douglas Ray McNeill will be Thursday in San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, Calif. Interment will be in San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
Mr. McNeill, 62, of Livermore, Calif., formerly of Medford, died Friday (Jan. 22, 1999) in Pleasanton, Calif.

He was born May 25, 1936, in Medford. He moved to Livermore, Calif. 30 years ago.
Mr. McNeill was a sheet metal worker for 40 years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1966, as a private first class.
Mr. McNeill was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union No. 104, and belonged to the Rod and Gun Club.
He enjoyed antique cars, deep-sea fishing, and collected antique toys.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mechthild; three daughters, Kelly Lambert, Medford, Michelle Brager, Dublin, Calif., and Dianna Atterbury, Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Ray Jr., Livermore, Calif.; a brother, Darrell, Kennewick, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.

Robert L. Lee
The memorial service for Robert Lora Lee will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Westminster Presbyterian Church in Medford. Pastor Alan Jackson will officiate.
Mr. Lee, 76, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 23, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Baker.
Mr. Lee served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. Following the war, he earned a degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University.
On May 28, 1948, in Grants Pass, he married Nancy Brownell, who survives.
Mr. Lee served as manager of the Medford Water Commission from 1954 to 1982.
He was a leader in the American Water Works Association, a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, a diplomat of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and trustee of the AWWA Research Foundation. He also served as president of the Medford Rotary Foundation, director of the Medford Rotary Club, the Medford Safety Council and the Mount Ashland Ski Patrol.
Mr. Lee was a deacon of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
He was an avid skier and enjoyed hunting, fishing and exploring.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Barbara Roemer, Medford, and Kathy Cafazzo, Corvallis; two sons, John, Carlsbad, N.M., and Michael, San Diego; a sister, Lois Kelly, Pocatello, Idaho; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Hoagland.

Jack Marvin Beale
The graveside service for Jack Marvin Beale will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford. Alan Hassell of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ashland Ward, will officiate.
Mr. Beale, 73, of Central Point, died Sunday (Jan. 24, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Center, Medford.
He was born Jan. 19, 1926, in Carroll, Neb.
On Aug. 6, 1977, in Reno, Nev., he married Betty Jean Holt, who survives. He lived in the Rogue Valley most of his life.
Mr. Beale was a mill worker with Boise Cascade for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was also a volunteer driver for the Department of Human Resources and the Veterans Administration for many years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Beale was an avid golfer, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Medford Third Ward.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Michael V., Eagle Point, and Wayne M., Medford; three stepsons, Steven James Orr, Medford, Jerry L. Orr, Medford, and Richard "Rik" Orr, Grants Pass; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Michael Orr.

Maude Pearl Bandy
The funeral service for Maude Pearl Bandy will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Pastor Lance Lovlin of First Assembly of God Church will officiate. Interment will be in Los Gatos Cemetery in San Jose, Calif.
Mrs. Bandy, 95, of Medford, died Friday (Jan. 22, 1999) in Medford.
She was born Maude Pearl Bliss on March 5, 1903, in Cawker City, Kan. She moved to the Rogue Valley 20 years ago from San Jose, Calif.
Mrs. Bandy was a homemaker.
She enjoyed traveling, her flower garden and sewing.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Haanstra, Medford; three grandsons; three great-grandsons; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert N. Bandy; a daughter, Joyce Cochren; a granddaughter, Debra Haanstra; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Friends may pay their respects from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Conger-Morris in Medford.
Paulene Evelyn Faust
Paulene Evelyn Faust, 78, of White City, died Jan. 16, 1999 in White City. A service will be held later in Silverton.
She was born June 13, 1920, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
In 1940, she married Raymond Faust, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley two months ago from Molalla.
Mrs. Faust was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include a son, Royce, White City; and two sisters, Reita Deidrickson, Sparks, Nev., and Irene Gould, in Kentucky.

Jay Kelly Crews
The funeral service for Jay Kelly Crews will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bethany Presbyterian Church. Pastor Steve Parker will officiate. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Crews, 80, of Grants Pass, died Saturday (Jan. 23, 1999) at his home.

He was born on Dec. 8, 1918, in Madras.
On June 21, 1946, in White Salmon, Wash., he married Arline Clara Schmidt, who survives. In 1949 he and his wife moved to Grants Pass from Washington.
Mr. Crews owned and operated the Tunnel Creek Mill in Wolf Creek from 1954 until it closed in 1970. He also was a millwright for Four Ply in Grants Pass until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 718th Engineering Company.
Mr. Crews was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and building things.
He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Elks Lodge of Grants Pass.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Robert C., Medford, and Gerald W., San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, Harold J., Vallejo, Calif., and David A., Fall City, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Esther Engbrecht
A funeral service for Esther Undine Engbrecht will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Talent. Pastors William and Mary Ellen Hare of the United Methodist Church in Talent will officiate.
A graveside service will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Engbrecht, 87, of Talent, died Friday (Jan. 22, 1999) at her home.

She was born Esther Janz on Sept. 18, 1911, in Fessenden, N.D.
On Sept. 22, 1943, in Ely, Nev., she married Peter C. Engbrecht, who died in 1993.
Mrs. Engbrecht lived in the Rogue Valley for the past 22 years, moving here from Shepherd, Mont.
She was a school teacher for many years in Washington and North Dakota. She later moved to Shepherd where she became the postmaster for 23 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Postal Workers Association and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed cooking, canning and crafts. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Talent.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Seyboth, Rogue River; a sister, Mildred Bradley, Talent; and three nephews, two nieces and seven great- nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters, Ida Mehlhoff, Alice Mickle Wright and Pearl Moe.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
Emma P. Shilts
The memorial service for Emma P. Shilts will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30 in the Phoenix Church of Christ. Pastor David Humphreys of Phoenix Church of Christ will officiate.
Mrs. Shilts, 93, of Medford, died Tuesday (Jan. 19, 1999) at Hearthstone.
She was born Emma P. Johnson on Jan. 22, 1905, in Stanley, Wis.
On Sept. 27, 1934, in Thorpe, Wis., she married Chester L. Shilts, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Stanley, Wis., in 1954.
Mrs. Shilts was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening and crocheting. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Phoenix.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Bradfield and Alice Sweet, both of Phoenix; two sons, Melvin Shilts, Talent, and Harold Dailey, Salem; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven siblings.
