A. Keith Peterson

A. Keith Peterson, 75, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Jan. 26, 1999) at Ashland Community Hospital. A private service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ashland 2nd Ward, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 111 Clay St., Ashland, OR 97520, or to a favorite charity.

He was born on Sept. 8, 1923, in Carey, Idaho.

On Oct. 2, 1942, in Jerome, Idaho, he married Lyle Louise Buckles, who survives. He moved to Ashland in 1946.

Mr. Peterson was a salesman for the Ashland Grange Co-op for 25 years until his retirement.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ashland 2nd Ward, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, No. 3423.

He was an avid horseman, and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and bowling.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Christine Peterson, Ashland, and Connie Peterson, Libby, Mont.; and two sisters, Melba Newhouse, Bellevue, Wash., and Esther Boyd, Hailey, Idaho. He was preceded in death by a brother, Willard; and a sister, Donna Cochran.

Cody Hall

The graveside service for Cody Lane Franklin Hall will be at noon Saturday in Logtown Cemetery in Jacksonville. Earl Best will officiate.

Cody, 10, of Applegate, died Sunday (Jan. 24, 1999) as the result of a fire at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Oregon, 9320 S.W. Barbur Blvd., Suite 140, Portland, OR 97219-5481.

He was born Sept. 30, 1988, in Medford. He lived in the Rogue Valley most of his life, returning from Alaska.

Cody attended Ruch Elementary School and the Applegate School.

He attended Applegate Community Church.

Cody liked to read and draw. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his mother, and spending time with his grandparents.

Survivors include his father, Michael Franklin, Medford; and his grandparents, A. Lee and Nelda Hall, Jacksonville.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou, Medford.

Valinda L. Hall

The graveside service for Valinda L. Hall will be at noon Saturday in Logtown Cemetery in Jacksonville. Earl Best will officiate.

Ms. Hall, 40, of Applegate, died Sunday (Jan. 24, 1999) as the result of a fire at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Oregon, 9320 S.W. Barbur Blvd., Suite 140, Portland, OR 97219-5481.

She was born Sept. 6, 1958, in Wrangell, Alaska. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Alaska. She attended school in Medford, and graduated from Medford Senior High School.

She enjoyed hunting, camping, working in the family rock garden with her sister and working with animals, especially horses. Her life revolved around her son, Cody, who also died Sunday.

Survivors include her parents, A. Lee and Nelda Hall, Jacksonville; two sisters, Veldeena Breedlove, Gold Hill, and Unintah Varner, Medford; and two brothers, Austin, Medford, and Flint, Jacksonville.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou, Medford.

Mary Moon Hord

The funeral service for Mary Moon Hord will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. The Jacksonville Order of the Eastern Star will officiate. Private interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park in Medford.

Mrs. Hord, 78, of Jacksonville, died Saturday (Jan. 23, 1999) in Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Order of the Eastern Star, Jacksonville Chapter, c/o 3248 Lone Pine Road, Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Mary Moon on March 26, 1920, in Alhambra, Calif.

On Feb. 2, 1950, in Grants Pass, she married Robert "Bob" E. Hord, who died earlier this year. She moved to Grants Pass from Los Angeles in 1947, and to the Medford area in 1952.

Mrs. Hord was a telephone operator for Pacific Northwest Bell for 15 years, both in Los Angeles and Grants Pass.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Jacksonville Chapter, and volunteered for the Rogue Valley Medical Center Auxiliary for many years.

Mrs. Hord was a member of the First Methodist Church in Medford.

She was an artist who enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening and trips to the Oregon coast.

Survivors include a son, Jason, Jacksonville; a sister, Krista Flink, Klamath Falls; a brother, Cliff Moon, Eureka, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Charles Arthur Risley

The funeral service for Charles Arthur Risley will be at 1 p.m. today in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, 2900 Juanipero Way, Medford. Bishop Wayne Cowley of Medford First Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate. The private graveside service will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.

Mr. Risley, 81, of Medford, died Sunday (Jan. 24, 1999) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to The General Church Missionary Fund, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 E. North Temple St., Salt Lake City, UT 84150.

He was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Fairview, Mont.

On June 4, 1938, in Klamath Falls, he married Evelyn L. Glynn, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley from Klamath Falls in 1950.

Mr. Risley worked in building maintenance for US West for 35 years, retiring in 1982.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Risley was a member of Medford First Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, sports and playing the guitar.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Dolores Walker, Medford, and Elaine Fuller, Walterville; a son, Michael, Eugene; a brother, Marion, Lawton, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

`Peggy' Anderson

The memorial service for Margarete "Peggy" Jean Anderson will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Chapel, Bellinger and Arnold Lane, Medford. Michael Brown, her son-in-law, will officiate.

Mrs. Anderson, 70, of Central Point, died Saturday (Jan. 23, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

She was born Margarete Goodmiller on Sept. 11, 1928, in Wenatchee, Wash.

On Oct. 27, 1946, in Riverside, Wash., she married Howard Ray Anderson, who died in 1990. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Riverside in 1950.

Mrs. Anderson was a secretary. She was active in the American Field Service, and hosted exchange students. She also coached the Junior Bowling League.

She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Mrs. Anderson enjoyed camping and beachcombing.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Coombs, Medford, and Charlotte Brown, Central Point; a son, Randall, Galt, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Carlean Janiece Sherk

The memorial service for Carlean Janiece Sherk will be at 2 p.m. today in Siskiyou Chapel, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford. Blackstar, Comanche Spiritual Leader of the Indian People, will officiate.

Mrs. Sherk, 55, of Kerby, died Saturday (Jan. 23, 1999) in a motor vehicle accident in Central Point.

She was born Carlean Janiece Ridge on May 20, 1943, in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

On July 19, 1990, in Rogue River, she married Ivan O. Sherk, who also died in the accident. They moved to the Rogue Valley from New Mexico 16 years ago.

Mrs. Sherk was a member of the Mountain Men and attended their rendezvous and powwows.

She enjoyed studying Native American history, cooking, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Lawson, Klamath Falls, and William L. Maxwell, Beaverton; two daughters, Bonnie Rothell, Medford, and Jessica Lawson, White City; two brothers, Novis L. Ridge and Marlin D. Ridge, both of Medford; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lawson, in 1969.

Edith E. Reinheardt

The graveside service for Edith E. Reinheardt will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Christopher White of Trail Christian Fellowship and the Rev. Anthony Rosevear of Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Ashland will officiate.

Mrs. Reinheardt, 76, of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 25, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Edith E. Carioto on April 24, 1922, in Pittsburgh.

On Dec. 7, 1942, in Dover, Del., she married Arston L. Reinheardt, who died in 1971. She moved to the Rogue Valley 13 years ago from Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Reinheardt was a homemaker.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford.

Survivors include five sons, Carr, Medford, Alan, Butte Falls, Larry, in Washington, Fred, Union, Ky., and Michael, Pittsburgh, Pa.; five daughters, Sharon Rametes, Jacksonville, Jenny Reinheardt-Ribich, Roseburg, Marge Hurd, Gresham, Mary Lasko, Pittsburgh, and Twila Austin, Erin, Tenn.; four brothers, Augustine, Guiseppe, Salvatore and Charles Carioto; a sister, Josephine Carioto; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank, in 1996.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.
